Taking onboard player feedback regarding the efficiency of the VHX-D3,We have now deployed a server-side change on Battlefield 2042 with some balance changes for this weapon.

Please allow some time for the following changes to roll out across all available game servers today.

VHX-D3 Changes:

  • Dispersion will now increase faster as more consecutive shots are fired, while also decreasing faster once firing has ceased. Burst Fire is now more effective than Full Auto.
  • Hipfire starting accuracy reduced while standing.
  • Horizontal recoil reduced by ~10% to promote long-range burst firing

We've been making backend changes like this for some time now. Over the past year and a half, we've been communicating more about them though as we continue to build transparency via BattlefieldComm

It's also part of a wider effort to enable the ability to make changes like these via the backend, online. We call them "Tweakables" internally, and throughout many updates, we have been enabling the ability to alter balance for Vehicles, Gadgets, Weapons, etc outside of a Client Update.

We ultimately want to be able to react faster to feedback and data that we're seeing, so it's a good step towards a future of immediacy in that way. There'll still be Client Updates, Hotfixes, Content Updates etc. But this is a good step!
