[2022] Is defending with the railgun tank a bad playstyle?

The tank is so useless in close quarters with infantry - I sit somewhere and mainly take out air vehicles and maybe other thanks if they come near our flags. But people get annoyed saying things like "dont camp in tanks" or something.

I understand that when you have a normal tank this can be frustrating. They're good for taking points, and are strong enough to fight infantry all around them. However, the EMKV90 cannot do this very well at all. It doesn't have much splash damage and so you need to rely on your (only) gunner which you may not have, or your secondary which turns slowly and is a death sentence if capturing sectors.

I take out several helicopters, jets and planes every match which in turn defends our helicopters and vehicles. Is that not helpful?
