Gaming, to me, is social. It's about friends and getting together online to party up and compete. I've been playing competitive video games my whole life. Halo was my first love. For those old enough to remember, what was the peak multiplayer experience in 2003 - 2006? Halo parties.

When Hot Pursuit launched, my squad and I had so much fun with it we threw a COD party with a fridge full of soda, a counter full of snacks and two tables with TVs lined up. This is from March 21st.

We've been throwing COD parties for 10 years on every game release. (I didn't take photos every year because I'm a bone head)

We saw that PS4 got Hot Pursuit last week, so what did we do? We planned a COD party for this weekend. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. It also happens to be my birthday. 🎉 So we're celebrating that too.

Boy have we been excited! We've been texting each other every day for a week counting down the days. My wife is getting food and meals planned, I've got my basement ready to go, the fridge ready for drinks, etc.

Yesterday afternoon, I received this text

from my buddy. I thought he was trolling and doctored a photo somehow but to my dismay, it's true. So no Hot Pursuit for the big party? What happened to Xbox getting it? Why would a solo playlist be front and center for a long weekend where most people have work and school off? It really makes no sense.

Don’t get me wrong. Will we have fun playing Quads? Of course! But Hot Pursuit is our new love. It's redefined Battle Royale in my opinion. That game mode is so damn fun.

Now - I don't want to whine like an entitled baby. I'm not going to threaten to never buy a Treyarch game ever again. I only decided to write this post because there are so many comments in the announcement thread that have people asking for Hot Pursuit to return. so...

I kindly want to ask /u/treyarch_official to take a look at the feedback and to be open to the possibility of a compromise.

Can we have Solo Ambush for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (it's solo so the solo players can just jump on whenever and play that mode throughout the week) Then for the long weekend, when we all want to squad-up with our pals, they add Hot Pursuit for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. What if we did that Treyarch?

Despite the controversies and complaining from the community, let's give credit where credit is due. This game is fun. We obviously enjoy it. We enjoy it in our own ways. With me, I throw parties. We get upset when Treyarch messes with our emotions, pocketbooks and in my case, schedule. All because we CARE! If we didn't care then it wouldn't matter what they did with this game. We'd move on and play something else.

I created this post because I care about the game. I care about my weekend. I want it to be the best it can be. I'm let down, I'm upset. I'm sharing my story because this game and the call of duty franchise has given me a lot of good times. I hope others get as much joy from it as I do. This is what being a gamer is all about.

What does /r/Blackops4 think about this? It would really make my weekend a whole lot better if we could get HP back...

- Cheers

#HotPursuit

EDIT: Thanks for the gold whoever that was. Can I trade it in for COD points? /s

EDIT 2: Oh my, two golds. Thanks everybody!

EDIT 3: So it looks like most people would rather just see Hot Pursuit as a permanent game mode. I'm down with that. As long as there are enough players of course.
