My buddy and I have played Blackout since the beta and have loved every bit of it, however, since the day Modern Warfare launched, we’ve had a hell of a time trying to connect to play Duo’s. Nothing we do seems to fix the issue (port forwarding, different Ethernet cables, etc) and yet we have zero issue to connecting to each other’s party chat or numerous other games.

We ran a test last night to see if Black Ops 4 would fail to cooperate. Sure enough, it did. We launched Borderlands: the Handsome Collection, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Battlefield 1 + 5. In all of those games, we connected with zero issues.

It’s abundantly obvious to both of us that Call of Duty is making it harder for friends to connect on older games to push them towards Modern Warfare. It’s really sad, because if Blackout got the support that Warzone is currently getting, I feel like it would be just as loved as the latter.

This isn't how we operate and your peers have stated that Duos is working for them on your platform. Make sure that you have TCP/UDP 3074-3076 forwarded or triggered.

Routers and ports can get complicated. Not all games use the same ports either so a "this is how we tested" isn't entirely scientific.
