[2020] Voice Chat clear in lobby but distorted in game?

I'm on pc playing with two friends (xbox, ps4). My mic sounds fine to them in the pre game lobby but when I load into the match, apparently I sound extremely distorted and choppy, almost robotic to the point where it's very hard to understand me. Does anyone know why this is happening?

UPDATE: it seems like lowering your microphone input sensitivity from 70 to around 40-55 makes the problem a little more tolerable. However, this issue is still very present and needs to be addressed! u/FoxhoundFPS
