My friends account got stolen. He's been trying to contact activision but to no avail. How can a company this bigger offer 0 support to players? You can't chat with them, you can't call them, all you can do is send a ticket and get 0 response to it.

/u/atviassist can you please for the love of god CONTACT your players in need?

There's an entire process for this and it starts here: https://support.activision.com/account-recovery

The process outlines that the situation will be reviewed and updates are noted via email.

A general PSA note for the thread:

  1. Check if you have been part of a common security breach via https://haveibeenpwned.com/.
  2. Use 2FA on EVERYTHING.
  3. Use a password manager to create unique + strong passwords.

If you have lost access to your Activision Account, please check out our Trello post for resources.

For those who don't know what 2FA is, check out this article from PCMag: https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/two-factor-authentication-who-has-it-and-how-to-set-it-up

Hey, if I 2FA'd my blizzard account am I safe, or is there anything else I have to 2FA so my cod account is safe?

You need to also 2FA your Activision account since they're actually separate accounts. Here's a link that outlines the process: https://support.activision.com/articles/keeping-your-activision-account-secure

Hey foxhound, I enabled 2FA on activision.com but haven’t done it for callofduty.com - does this matter as far as security goes?

No. These are effectively the same. You can log into https://my.callofduty.com/ with the same 2FA tokens as Activision. I just did this myself to double-check.
