[2021] Why Add S gear to the game when 1350 GS can speedrun Abby DOC?

This has been bothering me for a couple days now. On day one our first clear of Abby DoC was 15 minutes. We've gotten it down to about 13 now but stopped running it because its drops are trash.

Now you may think we are strong, but we are not. Most people in PvE group only have 1350-1380 GS and this is definitely enough to run every dungeon in the game. Our PvP gear is actually higher with mine being 1400 (because pushing PvE to max is absolutely pointless).

So this begs the question, why are we now able to get up to like 1700 GS when nothing at all the in game comes close to requiring it. This only benefits PvP and that seems like such a small minority of this community that ultimately without the PvE content to go with this gear its completely useless for most players?

Is there something I'm missing?
