[2020] Why is luminos a dead server?

I played the day the game released and made all of my characters on Luminos. I took a really long break and am now starting up again and noticed that I've only seen about 15+ people in total. I came here read some comments on some new player posts saying that they should make their character on physera since luminos is dead but they never said why. I'm debating on whether or not to switch over but I don't really want to regrind my characters and plus on luminos I made a priest who has the name Foy and he looks just like him and I would hate to not be able to play as him.
