[2020] Are Crusaders still not wanted in groups?

I just started playing, and I know a lot of people will tell me to play what I want and just have fun, but if I'm going to get overlooked later on then THAT will impact how much fun I'm having.

Right now I'm enjoying the gameplay and learning the game/class, but I'd rather know right now if I'm better off in the long run re-rolling to Ranger (or mage).

I don't see a lot of encouraging things about crusaders when I search, but most of what I read is about a year old now. Have they improved since then?
