  1. This isn't news. We've written in detail about the ins and outs of this when it was an actual topic.

  2. It's rare that one individual in game development teams make any decisions, it's usually the product of an bunch of factors. I just happen to be on socials because I believe having a communication line with the community is important.

  3. The TL;DR on why it's not coming back? It didn't eliminate the main reason we tried it out: teaming. It just a.) pushed teaming about 50-100 Teophies higher and b.) inflated trophies faster for some individuals (without increasing their baseline skill level, which is a problem)

  4. We do have ideas for alternative SD variations and it's likely were going to try something out in the firsr half of this year - read: likely, not guaranteed. If it sucks in playtesting (ex. If we don't have fun with it) we won't release it.

Yep. People choose regular Showdown over SD+.
