We are constantly on the lookout to find new server regions and sites which improve the service for our players around the globe.
This specific site will improve latencies in the South West of the continent, while still offering fallback to Sao Paulo for faster matchmaking.
Remember: in some cases it might not make sense for us to open new servers. We've experimented with servers in Australia and Bahrain, and while both offered lower latencies for players, ultimately smaller player bases also resulted in slower matchmaking and a decline in players.
Let us know how it goes!
We will continue to improve our server infrastructure as global cloud providers are opening new regions around the world, especially outside the major hubs in North America, Europe and Asia.
@BrayanFrancoO @BrawlStars There are no Cloud Providers in Colombia - and depending where you are living specifically the connection to Sao Paulo or Miami is pretty good already.
@PlayerAymaneX @BrawlStars Northern Africa, depending on the country, should be OK! You will play in Milan, Italy. There are currently no major cloud providers operating any servers in Northern Africa (and the player base in the region is rather small).
@KomandoBrawl We aren't operating the game itself in Iran and there are no major cloud providers (most of which are US companies) in Iran. Unfortunately due to the political situation I don't see this changing anytime soon.
@Amanj_Art @BrawlStars Pretty exactly that, I am afraid. The political situation makes it almost impossible for most Cloud Providers to operate in the region.
@ByEmmanuelYT @BrawlStars Depends a bit on the circumstances and exact locations within the countries. Venezuela's infrastructure is pretty shaky to begin with.
You'll likely all play in Miami, with a smaller chance to play in Sao Paulo where you would face some delay.
@schnauzerkaxoru @BrawlStars Sao Paulo is still a thing ofc. π€£ That first screenshot shows how the players are distributed (in real time) over the regions as per original post.
@MeliodasBS1 @BrawlStars From Peru it's a bit mixed. For some players the connection is better to Miami, for some it's better to Sao Paulo, and for some to Santiago.
@xNaruto_BS @BrawlStars Your answer is in the post thread above. We've tried Bahrain and it was detrimental to the player base. We might re-visit this since the community in the region grew since then, but the moment mm times go up, the size of player base goes down.
@LoganBrawl @schnauzerkaxoru @BrawlStars Yes and no. We haven't decided but I don't think it makes sense to split the region. Latencies will be better either way (in average, potentially not for individual players).
