Whether this is your first patch playing with mods or you've tried this before, I suggest checking out this post as it lists the mods that are known to be broken right now.

I've owned this game for a long time. And you guys are fully aware that this update is going to break people's saved games.

So why do it now?

The update has been underway and scheduled for now for some time. I completely understand that you just want to play your game and this update disrupts that - I play heavily modded as well and currently can't play my city - but I imagine you would not be any less frustrated any other time. Building a city is always gonna be way more fun that troubleshooting, but it's one of those things that come with modding the game. :/

To make things more smooth the devs have a beta, where many modders get access to the game early. That's how some mods have already updated and others are ready for the modder to be off work (since it isn't possible to schedule updates for mods). All of this ofc doesn't make it any less frustrating for you, that you can't play your city. But the devs are working with the community to make things as smooth as possible - it just won't ever be trouble-free when a game can be modded as heavily as Cities: Skylines can.
