Does this also happen with saves that use no workshop mods at all?

Does the map in question have plane connections? Do the standard airport work?

Thank you for your reply. This problem does persist on saves with no workshop mods at all. In my case, the map does not have any plane connections. There was no standard airport on this save until I created one using the new tool.

The map having no plane connections would be the cause in your case then. If there aren't any, the airports have nothing to connect to.

One save has mods, the other no mods at all.. both have airports with plane connections. What I've found is when I setup the airport the first time planes spawn and take off, following that no flights arrive, and the number of flights listed in the airport menu gradually goes to 0.

For the unmodded save please try adding the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods to test if this is still an issue. If it is, please report it on our support forum here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forums/support-bug-reports.879/

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply in the box (be sure to separate each code with a space). Should look like this:
    -noWorkshop -disableMods
  • Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.
