[2020] cant play or wont load a save game

If you can post your output log (player.log on Mac and Linux), then we can have a look at what's happening. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites you can upload the file to, as we can't attach files where on Steam.

@SGT Minimick: Does it crash with a pop up along the lines of "Oops the game has crashed..."? If yes, then the pop up mentions a folder, which has a copy of the output log (player.log on Mac and Linux) and the error.log - we'll need both files to be able to help.

The guide I linked earlier has some suggestions for places you can upload the files to, since we can't attach them here.

If you don't get the pop up, then there will still be the output log. The guide also explains where to find that.
