The most common reason for the game to crash is running out of memory. Do you get a pop up saying the game has crashed and mentioning a folder? If yes, those files would tell us why it's crashing. You can find them by going to the game Library on Steam, right click on Cities: Skylines, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab and click the button Browse local files. Then find the folder mentioned in the pop up.

If you don't get the pop up when the game crashes, then there's still the output log (player.log on Mac and Linux). This guide explains where to find it and suggests some times to upload the file to, since we can't attach files here on Steam.
