Because of player toxicity on mostly every forum Paradox Interactive is involved in, Steam as well as their own Paradox Plaza forums, they've seem to have halted development of their products...

... instead of blaming their customers who are angry with their business practices, yeah I'm looking at you Paradox Launcher!, they should just give what their fanbase wants and stop making pigheaded decisions. They're not 2K Games, nor are they EA Games, so why not be the good guy instead :P
I just want to comment on this and clear up some confusion I see around how Cities: Skylines is a little different from some of the other Paradox games.
Firstly, it's important to keep in mind that Cities: Skylines is developed by us, Colossal Order, and that's we're a separate company from Paradox. So whenever you see news about changes at Paradox Development Studios those don't affect us. They affect the games developed by Paradox themselves.
Paradox is our publisher, which means they handle a lot of practical stuff for us, so we can focus on game development. All those cool videos on the official Cities: Skylines YouTube channel for example are not something we work on - Paradox handles the production of those.
Now, we've been fairly absent from the forums for a while. I just want to clear up as to why that has been the case, because it has nothing to do with the discussion of toxicity that's happening right now. It's purely been a question of time. Mariina and Emmi, who used to post frequently on the forum, simply have not had the time they once had.
That's where I come in! My job is pretty much to make sure we don't miss any feedback or bug reports from you all. And part of that is reading the Paradox forums every day. I stick to the Cities: Skylines part of the forum, and while we don't have a ton of activity there, it's generally full of great feedback and helpful players. I can't comment on the toxicity of other parts of the forum, since I just don't visit them, but our little corner is quite nice. :)
