edit: just so you are aware, i have shared the feedback on the change with the rest of the team - i don't think i made that clear in my original message (judging from the replies).

OK there seem to be 2 issues here:

  1. your image on the left is super outdated. we added the colour changes to these buttons back in 2019. this was due to feedback that the pass royale 'queue chest' button and the open now button were too similar a colour.
  2. you're right, i didn't put this in the patch notes. i did some digging and this change was committed to the build back on january 23rd and was missed due to it being from a long time ago (we have had optional updates since and it must have got missed somewhere)

we actually added this due to player feedback (yes, really!) here is even a recent example that demonstrates why we did this. i agree with the players there that it was a change that needed to happen.

although i don't think it would have stopped any of these accidental muscle reflex gem openings, it's my bad for not putting it into the patch notes, so apologies for that. all i would say as advice is to triple check what you're tapping in future - there are a lot of UI changes in this update!

You really think somebody reading the patch notes is going to make any difference in stopping them from tapping the exact same place they’ve tapped thousands of times before?

Can we get it changed back?

i'm actually working with our designer now to sort a solution that isn't just changing it back (as that was the original issue).

will be working on this together with him tomorrow - moving it to the other side seems to be the best idea (if we can make it look nice - never tell a UI guy to just move something somewhere).
at the very least try to stay away from the stacked buttons. will let you know more when we've decided

Holy f**k. Did you actually think that was a good call? Your LOYAL PAYING^ CUSTOMERS are upset about accidentally spending some money and instead of just relying “Our bad. We changed it for insert lie here reason.” Instead you try and blame the customer by saying it’s an out of date image? Bad move

(Edited to fix spelling)

i think that part of my post has been misunderstood - i was simply referring to the left image being out of date by almost a year and that had not been in the game for a while. a correct comparison would be between 2 different images.

that's what i was getting at there as it was confusing info when i first saw this post i assumed the player had an out of date client

i also never said it was the customers fault or blamed the player. in fact, i agree with you guys and we will be changing it

Thank you Drew! As someone that loves the update even after seeing this post I still muscle memoried and spent gems I had no idea I was that used to queuing up chests. As long as the gem spend button is away from the muscle memory spot I would call it a great change.

yeh its really crappy to see all these posts of people affected by this, moving away is probably the best solution. thanks for the message and apologies that you were affected by it

How is moving forward a solution to this? You have a lot of unhappy players and the one solution is to “move away”. How is that any kind of way to handle a problem? Essentially throwing the issue under the carpet and saying there’s nothing that can be done. To acknowledge that this should have been put in the update notes, yet then say moving forward is the best solution to this is very low.

i think you misunderstood.

i said move away as in literally move the button away from the other one to the opposite side of the UI. hope that clears it up

Drew, there is a sincere question out here that I have noticed is not being addressed at all: why is a confirmation button for spending gems not being considered? I know you say that you understand players frustrations if a simple accidental click can cost them gems that they spent real money on, but why is the clear action to solve that not being addressed or considered? We would really love an answer to that.

it is being considered
