I have been playing Clash Royale casually for almost a year, spending 5-20$ monthly. I would continue to do so, but Supercell just pushed me away from doing so. I am willing to spend money to faster up progression, but I want to have fun along the way. That' s not possible anymore after the update.

Why leave?

  1. It takes 1-2 years to max 4 decks (given than you spend hundreds of $). The problem I have with it, it's not the timeline but the fact that there's nothing to do or contribute until then.
  2. It takes weeks/months for clans to find their right trophy position (again). Right now matches in war are either ez or impossible to win. Theres no challenge or competition involved.
  3. Active and positive community is why I wanted to play, progress and spend money on the game. But after the update, that's fading away quickly. I'm seeing that on reddit and in-game.
  4. A let down of an update. Expected something totally new and major, but got the same old things rebranded in a new way. Whats even worse, is that if they fail to deliver something new in a major update after a year, then what are the chances they will in the near future?

What need's to be changed? (Positive end note)

Most of the reddit and players say the game is dying and there's no future for it. I strongly disagree. Even at the lowest point that Clash Royale is right now, it is still generating the same revenue as Brawl Stars, which is a fresh rising game and currently at it's peak (Source1, Source2). That just shows how more potential is left in the game. What's for certain is that massive changes need to be done.

  1. Balance Clan Wars II matchmaking (luckley this is already being addressed)
  2. Make the progression journey more fun for the players.
  3. Brand NEW features (literally anything). It's not like you or the community is lacking with ideas. Give us more ways to engage or spend money on the game. Where's the harm in that?
  4. A new way to farm gold/cards. Something like challenges.
  5. Faster updates, at least for now that is absolutely needed. Drew said that many devs work for both Brawl Stars and CR, then it's very possible for 2 month major updates which happen in Brawl Stars to happen in Clash Royale as well.

I believe many changes are already being made to the game and I want to give the SC team another shot at the October update. If that fails as well, I'm afraid that's the end of a great journey which could have lasted much longer.
