Haha, yes we should totally go after ourselves for this great crime of bringing in Call of Duty content to help fill out a game about all of the different universes and genres of Call of Duty . Some random behind the scenes info for you all though, but this actually isn't the simplest process.

You would assume that if our designers we were working on X upcoming season they could say, "hey this map or weapon from Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 fits this well, so let's pull it and put into CODM!" and that would be that. However, each studio, like Treyarch, IW, and Sledgehammer, have to agree to this and there may be complicated reasons that we can't use a specific weapon or map.

So, while all of the studios have been extremely supportive of CODM and have clearly let us bring in a wealth of content from different COD titles, we can't necessarily bring in just anything whenever we feel like it and without significant effort sometimes. Anyways, all in all if someone is saying "this looks just like MW 2019 or this is taken from BO3" then yeah that's our intention and thanks for noticing the hard work
