Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! We missed you all for our Season 6 launch but we are back today with a recap of Season 6’s main new features and events on top of some coverage of new and upcoming events! The first topic to discuss this week is the latest and greatest of Season 6 featured events – Aether Hunt.

Aether Hunt brings you to Richtofen’s Lab to assist him in his hunt for Aetherite crystals. Complete tasks in Undead Siege, Battle Royale, and Multiplayer for various types of ore. When turning in this ore to Richtofen your completion meter will fill up and unlock rewards once you hit certain milestones. You can earn anything from the Horde themed weapon and vehicles camo to an undead variant of Richtofen himself! Specifics below, but first a cinematic trailer to celebrate the launch of this event:

Aether Hunt Cinematic Trailer

This event has you tackling both daily and long-term challenge tasks (not time limited) that might ask you to do something like kill zombies in Undead Siege or win 5 matches in any game mode. You’ll see a variety of these, at least the daily tasks, showing up throughout the event with numerous ways for you to earn ore. No matter which mode you play, it should all help get you rewards via Aether Hunt!

You can get a bonus to Aether extraction in this event as well if you happen to own the Wrench Rig Set from the Outbreak Crate (available in the store right now). For completing all of this you can earn the following rewards:

A lot has already launched in this first portion of Season 6: The Heat! As you can see from the roadmap we’ve already dropped new Clan Wars content, Ranked Series 3, a credit store update, a new Battle Pass with the MX9 and Swarm Scorestreak, and as of this week more releases with the Stack MP map, Aether Hunt, and the Machete.

However, this season is a packed one and there is still plenty more on the way! Get ready and enjoy it all while it is live because before you know it we’ll be out here with teasers for Season 7 😉. Next up we are going to jump into a Call of Duty: Mobile 2nd Anniversary event that is currently going on in-game!

Global Weapon Design
At the beginning of August we launched a unique event in-game, found through the Announcement Tab, focused around getting a community weapon design into our upcoming anniversary season. For this event, you can pick between six different popular weapon types, like the AK117 or PP19 Bizon, and six different popular season themes, like Going Dark or Tokyo Escape.

Global Weapon Design Event

Each player is able to pick one weapon and camo theme, and when this event ends next week whichever weapon and camo, respectively, with the highest number of votes will win. For example, if you vote for the ICR-1 and the Going Dark theme and the ICR-1 loses the Going Dark theme could still win attached to a different weapon. Once this event concludes our teams will then spring into action, make that winning design on the winning weapon type, and then during our 2nd Anniversary season we’ll release it to free for all players! Head in-game now and place your vote.

Undead Siege

Many players have already picked up their wrenches and tried their luck against the undead horde, but with Aether Hunt launching this week there will be plenty of new players jumping into this new and different zombies’ mode. This section is dedicated to those who jumping into the mode for the first time or those who are just looking for some additional details about aspects of the mode, like zombie type information and turret management. First, an overview and basic summary!

Survive Five Days & Nights

What is Undead Siege

  • A new PVE (player versus environment/cooperative) mode with up to 4 players
  • Two difficulties currently - casual and hard
  • Survive for Five Days and Five Nights against increasingly difficult hordes of undead
  • Sessions are roughly 20-30 minutes long on average if you survive all five days/nights
  • Highly replayable with features like talent management and a wide variety of items to unlock and collect on top through Richtofen’s Rewards
  • New completionist weapon camo available as a part of this mode
  • This is a limited time mode that may just be around for all of Season 6, but the length and permanency depends on overall participation and reception

Undead Siege - Survival Guide Tutorial

One thing that isn’t explained in any of our tutorial videos but you will immediately notice when jumping into the mode, watching one of the cinematic trailers, or through Aether Hunt is that this mode has new narrative and story attached to it. We were so excited to be able to pull Richtofen (Nolan North), Nikolai (Fred Tatasciore), and Tank Dempsey (Steve Bloom) back into the world of Call of Duty: Mobile and to get their fantastic voice actors, listed in parentheses above, back in the studio to help bring this mode to life!

Ricthofen Needs Your Help

The Story of Undead Siege, you have passed through the rift and entered a different world where Richtofen, Nikolai, and Tank Dempsey await after arriving purely by accident. Aether energy has pulled open seams of the multiverse and brought you together with this wonderful cast of iconic ZOMBIES characters, but this is not a brand-new story based off of those in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series. Instead, it is alternate space in time where these characters, enemies, and worlds can intermix.

Together you all must defend the control center, a device made to pull you out of this multi-versal space. If you defend it long enough it can open a way for you to return to your world. However, aetheric energy rages at night and attracts all sorts of undead threats to your doorstep. Play through it all and hard mode to unlock the whole story.

Undead Siege

Turrets, one of the first things you’ll notice in Undead Siege is that your normal weapons are not strong enough to hold back the hordes. You’ll need all manner of upgradeable and specialized turrets to help you keep the control center safe. Turrets start at Sentry Turret, the most basic and fast firing machine gun turret, but can be upgraded into all kinds of devastating options, like Grenade, Cannon, and Fire Turrets. Zombies, as you may have seen from our images or videos above you aren’t just facing off against basic shamblers but a whole array of challenging enemy types. You’ll have to fight aggressive zombies that might only care about taking out players, or only turrets, or the control center, but there are also some that just support other zombies. There are many types of zombies, but each have different ways to effectively take them down and some are worth prioritizing over others due to how destructive or powerful they are. Take a look at those different types below:

Zombie Type Tutorial

Talents, in Undead Siege you may lose and often depending on the difficulty you tackle and your teammates, but we’ve setup a system that is always meant to reward you for playing. Some of that might just be tasks and rewards, like Aether Hunt, but there are also permanent upgrades that make you stronger called Talents. These Talents improves turrets, your damage, your health, and more. Talents can be upgraded by collecting Aether Shards and Crystals, which can be earned just by playing matches and collecting enough experience to unlock new tiers in Richtofen’s Rewards.

Talent System

Richtofen’s Rewards, the simplest way to explain this new system is to say it is basically a free battle pass specifically for Undead Siege. There are tasks to work on, rewards to earn (not just crystals for upgrading Talents), and a completionist camo to complete. This system is hefty and meant to provide a wealth of content for all players to engage with, whether you want just a few rewards, need to upgrade your talents, or are looking to collect everything there is for Undead Siege.

Summary of Undead Siege Rewards

Undead Siege is one of the biggest features we’ve ever released for Call of Duty: Mobile and it has been a pleasure to see the response! We know it isn't the same as original ZOMBIES mode, but it is something that fills that cooperative itch in a new way and our teams have poured a lot of passion into make it unique, replayable, and enjoyable.

Stack Multiplayer Map
First seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Stack has made its way to Call of Duty: Mobile and is live now in game! True to its MW roots of being a Gunfight map, Stack is a compact 3 lane map perfect for any 2v2 or 1v1 battles. Have a quick look at the layout of this map: https://youtu.be/LLvXt6VQkLs

New MP Map - Stack

Stack is playable right now in the Stack 24/7 playlist that will last until 8/12. In this playlist you will be playing either Gunfight or 1v1 MP matches, so you better be ready for those high pressure, sweaty palm, intense games. Stack will also be available later in the season in the brand-new game mode Face Off in the Face Off 24/7 playlist starting 8/13 UTC.

New Melee Weapons
This season is an exciting one for many reasons and we are so thrilled to finally say we did it! A free katana is coming this season alongside a Wrench and Machete. It is a season of zombies, double agents, and new melee weapons! Here are the details on each.

Melee Weapons Available in Season 6

Correction on the above image, the Wrench is earned via Richtofen’s Rewards (not Bounty).

Wrench
If you have played Undead Siege then you are already more than familiar with the handy dandy Wrench. The multifaceted weapon can Repair your turrets and generator, take out the bulky Wardens, and once unlocked full can even defeat your enemies in MP and BR. Progress through Richtofen’s Rewards by playing Undead Siege and completing tasks there to get your hands on the Wrench!

Katana
It only took us 3 additional seasons, but the Free Katana is finally here 😉. On 8/20 the Featured Event Sharpened Skills will go live and you will be able to grind for that Katana. To progress through the Sharpened Skills event you will need to complete tasks like killing enemies with melee weapons, earning Backstabber Medals, and killing enemies with the Dead Silence perk equipped. Prove you are truly a master of the melee weapon and the blade, and you’ll earn yourself the long-awaited Katana!

Machete
The ever capable and trusty Machete is useful for more than just cutting through overgrown shrubbery during the oppressing heat of the summer. This new melee weapon is earnable through a Seasonal Challenge, Machete Madness, that we’ll have details on below in the Season Challenge section. However, if you are looking for a supped-up version of this blade you can grab Machete - Dog Tooth in the Rottweiler Draw available now through the store.

Seasonal Challenges
It feels so early in the season to say this but we already have five Seasonal Challenges available! There are still two more on the way, including one to grab the new Rytec AMR sniper rifle, but for now there is a lot to complete and earn. For example, you can grab a brand-new melee weapon, the Machete, a new perk, the Mosaic weapon blueprints, and nearly 100,000 Battle Pass XP (if you completed them all). Here are all of those details below!

Martyrdom
This six-part seasonal challenge is one of the first to launch in Season 6 and it fittingly brings a brand-new perk to Call of Duty: Mobile! Martyrdom is a love it or hate perk that has you dropping grenades whenever you are killed. That means you always have a chance to get revenge from the grave and to greatly annoy your enemies, especially if they are using melee close range tactics. This challenge offers up 16,000 Battle Pass XP on top of the following rewards:

  • 40 Weapon XP Cards
  • (Uncommon) AK-47 – Macaw
  • (Rare) Avatar – From Dog, With Love
  • New Perk – Martyrdom

Survival of the Fittest
This seven-part seasonal challenge is focused entirely on battle Royale and completing various tasks in that mode. There is no specific focus here, instead the challenge is meant to show your overall capabilities in Battle Royale. Survival of the Fittest is a great challenge to use to level up your BP with an offering of 22,000 Battle Pass XP and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Defender - Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Ninja – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Knife - Macaw
  • (Rare) Calling Card – Beach Day
  • (Rare) BK57 – Mosaic

Run & Gun
This six-part seasonal challenge brings you back to Multiplayer and focuses on SMGs to help celebrate the launch of the new MX9 (available in the Battle Pass)! Use various SMGs, including the MX9, to take out enemies and with specific loadouts to complete all of the tasks. For completing this challenge you’ll earn 15,000 Battle Pass XP and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Frag Grenade – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Backpack – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Pharo – Macaw
  • (Rare) Frame – Exotic Bird Frame
  • (Rare) M4LMG – Mosaic

Scorestreak Smash
This seven-part seasonal challenge is very similar to the Run & Gun except instead of being focused on SMGs it is all about Scorestreaks! This is to help celebrate and encourage you to test out the new Scorestreak - Swarm (available in the Battle Pass) on top of being an excuse for us to give you a variety of credits, weapon XP, 21,000 Battle Pass XP, and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) SMRS – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) MW11 – Macaw
  • (Rare) Charm – Armadillo
  • (Rare) AK117 – Mosaic

Newest Scorestreak - Swarm is Required for Scorestreak Smash

Machete Madness
This seven-part seasonal challenge is similar to the previous two where it is designed to highlight and encourage you test the newest melee weapons. These tasks are all about Multiplayer, getting kills with melee weapons, general kills with any weapon, and using the Wrench (available at Tier 1 in Richtofen’s Rewards). By doing all of this you’ll snag the new Machete melee weapon, 19,000 Battle Pass XP, and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Striker - Macaw
  • (Rare) Spray – Swrod Swipe
  • New Weapon – Machete

New Functional Weapon – MX9
A new highly customizable SMG is here to battle for dominance against the beloved QXR. The MX9 is a fast-firing SMG with a high damage output that can be extremely deadly and accurate if kitted out with precision-based attachments, whether that is for ADS or hip-fire. Here is a sample build:

This new weapon can be earned through the free side of the Season 6 Battle Pass (Tier 21) or through the premium side with the epic MX9 – Stone Serpent (Tier 50). One more functional weapon will be coming later in the season, the Rytec AMR, through a Seasonal Challenge. Season 6 Lucky Draws
We’ve had two lucky draws released already this season and we wanted to quickly highlight them some they are filled with some unusual weapons, operators, and themes.

Gravewalker Draw
The first lucky draw to release in Season 6 is all about looking like a hardened, cool, and efficient zombie hunter. It features Seraph – Gravekiller, who is filled with fury and a desire to wipe out any poor undead creature unfortunate enough to cross her path. Her main weapon is the AGR 556 – Ripper, which is equipped with a bayonet style blade and can actually be used as a melee weapon.

Rottweiler Draw
The second lucky draw to release this season just arrived a day ago and is all about style, gold, and swagger. If you’ve ever had a desire to deck out your weapons, charms, and even a tank in gold then this draw was made for you! It has a brand-new character, Rott, leading the way with his gold pants, gold chains, and gold handguns tucked into his gold belt. Check him out and the rest of the draw in-game now.

Ranked Series 3
Alongside the launch of Season 6 came a new season of Ranked competition with Ranked Series 3! As per usual this new series came with new rewards for both Multiplayer and Battle Royale, a rank reset (down a couple of levels, not a complete reset), and some changes to what maps are available.

Ranked Series 3 - Lerch and the CR-56 AMAX - Street Venom

For this post we would like to primarily focus on the map rotation changes we made. As many players have noted in the community there have been various maps removed or added. Here is a quick summary of those changes and why we made them:

  • Search & Destroy – Takeoff and Summit removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • This was done for a fairly simple reason that Takeoff and Summit were performing below average in relation to balance and match quality (how competitive it is), so we wanted to get some new additions in there to mix it up.
  • TDM – Summit Removed and Slums Added
    • As you’ll see for Summit throughout this post, it was removed in TDM as well for performing below average. That just means the matches on that map were not as balanced, competitive, and enjoyable for players, on average, compared to other maps.
  • DOM – Firing Range and Standoff Removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • While we know Firing Range and Standoff are beloved maps, they are also so well known (since they’ve been in since the beginning) that we’ve seen a high probability of one-sided matches where one team is being completed dominated. As a result, these maps are temporarily removed. Slums will likely be added as well in the future.
  • Hardpoint – Raid removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • This map in particular for Hardpoint has poor overall performance. Removing it to mix it up and give other newer maps a chance to provide a better experience.

Overall, the intention of these map changes is to remove maps that seem to be creating a worse performance for players on average and adding new maps that hopefully will improve the experience. If you find the changes to be worse or better for you then please discuss, let us know, and we’ll keep adjusting and considering other changes for future Ranked Series.

Feedback & Bug Reports
There is a lot we are still working through on this front since the start of the season, but as you may have seen we have already put out some fixes and changes in response to both community feedback and in-game data. We have more on the way, but here are some of the changes we’ve recently made on top of some issues we are investigating:

Undead Siege Specific

  • Added a FPP to TPP switch button
  • Added an icon to the Necromancer Zombie type for better visual identification
  • Extended the 3rd day to allow for more prep time due to the control center moving
  • Duplicate camo rewards now become Aether Shards
  • Vehicles can no longer be destroyed by players
  • Fixed various text inaccuracies

Season 6 General

  • Fixed an issue related to purchasing tiers in the Battle Pass
  • Fixed an issue with store purchases on Android resulting in an error
  • Fixed an issue with an inaccessible mission in Clan Wars
  • Investigating an issue with frequent disconnects for some players
  • Investigating an issue with stuttering due to the UI with aiming
  • Investigating an issue with certain epic blueprints not displaying their special effects after kills
  • Investigating an issue with character voice overs not functioning in Battle Royale
  • Investigating an issue with certain Locus blueprints not having a sniper reticle
  • Investigating some maps glitches on Slums

We are always on the lookout for more reports and feedback that we can share back with our teams, so keep it coming and thank you to everyone who has taken any time to do so! We are greatly appreciative that every season there are always so many passionate players who are willing to immediately report any issues seen or start detailed discussions about new modes, changes, or desired changes.

Lastly, the updates notes have been out for a while now but we haven’t been able to share them anywhere outside of the game until now. Not only do these notes below consist of information that you may have seen in-game, but we’ve also added additional details and callouts that we believe the community would be interested in seeing.

For instance, even though it may be a small thing to some we were excited to finally be able to share that we’ve added more customized HUD options in this update! We know that one has been a long-requested feature, just like bringing over some of the BR changes from the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile, some of which have also released in this update. Check that all out in the next section.

  • Stack
    • Soldiers must be careful of enemies approaching from both near and far and protect themselves with bunkers.
    • Available in these modes: Gunfight, Duel
  • Nuketown Classic
  • As the summer heat melts the snow away, the classic Nuketown returns!
  • Available in these modes: TDM, Domination, Hardpoint, 10v10 TDM, 10v10 Domination

New Mode

    • 3v3 intense fighting on a small map!

Undead Siege

In the new Undead Siege mode, you will team up with Richtofen, Tank Dempsey, and Nikolai Belinski to survive in an isolated location. You will need to collect materials and supplies during the day and prepare for a surge of zombie attacks at night. Apart from weapons, you can also make use of defense towers to protect yourself. Help Richtofen and his team escape!

  • Weapon balance adjustment in Undead Siege
    • In Undead Siege mode, weapon damage follows different rules.
    • You can check the basic damage of different weapons in your loadout.
    • In the game, weapon damage will increase according to rarity.

Clan Wars

  • New rewards have been added to clan store, like an epic variant the operator Firebreak
  • Players can now view detailed information of clans, including clan trophies and historical performance.
  • Clan leaders are now able to rename clans through name change cards that have been added to the clan store.
  • Chat board now includes a ‘Recruit’ button. Clan leaders can also send detailed clan information to chat channels.
  • Message board has been added to Clan War maps. Click on the chat bar in Clan War to open the message board, and leave a message for your clanmates and foes!

Other optimizations on experience

  • VTOL: Adjusted the locations of the missile button and the movement button
  • Throwing props: Players can split Lethal and Tactical items into two separate buttons in Settings
  • Throwables: When Fast Throw Grenade is on, there will be a new function of displaying throw trajectory if the grenade button is pressed and held
  • Throwables: If the player is killed when he is holding a triggered frag grenade, the grenade will not explode immediately but will fall to the ground and explode when charging time runs out.
  • Operator Skill: The charging progress will be displayed.
  • Operator Skill: All energy will be refunded when dying during activation of the Operator Skill. A majority of energy will also be refunded when dying shortly after activation of the Operator Skill, if the skill was not used. Neither refund applies to Gravity Spikes.
  • Scorestreaks: Players can configure multiple sets of scorestreaks in Loadout, but once scores are obtained in game, the current scorestreaks cannot be changed even if the Loadout is switched.
  • Icons in mini map optimized:
    • Info icons (such as teammate, enemy location, scorestreaks etc.) in the mini map will change in size based on the player's location, and enemies’ altitude information will also be displayed above their red dots in the mini map.
  • Optimized the performance of the Thermite Reload, which can now cause burning damage to enemies within range.

MP Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where player can use the function of one click to ADS and fire continuously (and the fire rate limit is also broken) when using arctic.50
  • Pine Collision BUG in Pine:
    • Fixed abnormal collision of a tree in Pine
  • Terminal:
    • Fixed a bug where a flowerpot could cause a player to get stuck and players could cause damage through walls in the Terminal map
  • Standoff Scene BUG in Standoff:

Battle Royale

Vehicle related

  • Add the function of customized Vehicle operation:
  • Added a separate setting for Vehicle in Settings, where players can customize their preferred vehicle operation mode, and size and position of buttons in each operation mode.
  • Balance adjustment of Vehicle:
  • Reduce the speed of Snowboard when the player skates in non - snow areas

New setting

  • The option to unfold Wingsuit by default - if the setting is on, the Wingsuit will unfold at a certain altitude, and if the setting is off, it requires another click to unfold the Wingsuit
  • Sound visualization in mini map, players can choose to display the location of the sound or its direction
  • Two modes of parachuting are available - sliding the screen to turn by default or sliding the screen to view surroundings which allows movements to be more natural.

  • New icon above the airdrop box in scenes
  • New icon above the BR Class machine in scenes
  • Sound prompt: Added new prompt of "display the direction of the sound source", which can be switched on/off in: [Settings]-[Basic]-[BR Mode]
  • Sound prompt: Added function of displaying sound prompt on the main screen, which can be turned on/off in: [Settings]-[Basic]-[BR Mode]
  • Added light effects to the 3 kinds of supply boxes in the map, and optimized sound effect of opening boxes
  • Added corresponding special effects to Legendary weapons and custom loadout weapons with Legendary or Mythic skins on the ground.

BR Bug Fixes

  • Fixed wrong display of smoke trail on foot when parachuting

Other General Optimizations

  • Players can adjust zoom on the mini-map, and the mini-map now supports centralization and rotation.
  • New feature: the player can configure and save 2 different settings (HUD options)
  • Sensitivity sharing function: Players can upload their own sensitivity settings to the cloud and generate codes to share with other players. Others can preview and copy the same settings.
  • Added sliding tackle prompt: with the setting enabled, the crouch icon will switch to the sliding tackle icon when the player can make a sliding tackle.
  • Add the ability for teammates to be visible with the setting is enabled, the player can see teammate locations

We missed you all for our Season 6 launch but we are back today with a recap of Season 6’s main new features and events on top of some coverage of new and upcoming events! The first topic to discuss this week is the latest and greatest of Season 6 featured events – Aether Hunt.

Aether Hunt brings you to Richtofen’s Lab to assist him in his hunt for Aetherite crystals. Complete tasks in Undead Siege, Battle Royale, and Multiplayer for various types of ore. When turning in this ore to Richtofen your completion meter will fill up and unlock rewards once you hit certain milestones. You can earn anything from the Horde themed weapon and vehicles camo to an undead variant of Richtofen himself! Specifics below, but first a cinematic trailer to celebrate the launch of this event:

Aether Hunt Cinematic Trailer

This event has you tackling both daily and long-term challenge tasks (not time limited) that might ask you to do something like kill zombies in Undead Siege or win 5 matches in any game mode. You’ll see a variety of these, at least the daily tasks, showing up throughout the event with numerous ways for you to earn ore. No matter which mode you play, it should all help get you rewards via Aether Hunt!

A lot has already launched in this first portion of Season 6: The Heat! As you can see from the roadmap we’ve already dropped new Clan Wars content, Ranked Series 3, a credit store update, a new Battle Pass with the MX9 and Swarm Scorestreak, and as of this week more releases with the Stack MP map, Aether Hunt, and the Machete.

However, this season is a packed one and there is still plenty more on the way! Get ready and enjoy it all while it is live because before you know it we’ll be out here with teasers for Season 7 😉. Next up we are going to jump into a Call of Duty: Mobile 2nd Anniversary event that is currently going on in-game!

Global Weapon Design
At the beginning of August we launched a unique event in-game, found through the Announcement Tab, focused around getting a community weapon design into our upcoming anniversary season. For this event, you can pick between six different popular weapon types, like the AK117 or PP19 Bizon, and six different popular season themes, like Going Dark or Tokyo Escape.

Global Weapon Design Event

Each player is able to pick one weapon and camo theme, and when this event ends next week whichever weapon and camo, respectively, with the highest number of votes will win. For example, if you vote for the ICR-1 and the Going Dark theme and the ICR-1 loses the Going Dark theme could still win attached to a different weapon. Once this event concludes our teams will then spring into action, make that winning design on the winning weapon type, and then during our 2nd Anniversary season we’ll release it to free for all players! Head in-game now and place your vote.

Undead Siege

Many players have already picked up their wrenches and tried their luck against the undead horde, but with Aether Hunt launching this week there will be plenty of new players jumping into this new and different zombies’ mode. This section is dedicated to those who jumping into the mode for the first time or those who are just looking for some additional details about aspects of the mode, like zombie type information and turret management. First, an overview and basic summary!

Survive Five Days & Nights

What is Undead Siege

  • A new PVE (player versus environment/cooperative) mode with up to 4 players
  • Two difficulties currently - casual and hard
  • Survive for Five Days and Five Nights against increasingly difficult hordes of undead
  • Sessions are roughly 20-30 minutes long on average if you survive all five days/nights
  • Highly replayable with features like talent management and a wide variety of items to unlock and collect on top through Richtofen’s Rewards
  • New completionist weapon camo available as a part of this mode
  • This is a limited time mode that may just be around for all of Season 6, but the length and permanency depends on overall participation and reception

Undead Siege - Survival Guide Tutorial

One thing that isn’t explained in any of our tutorial videos but you will immediately notice when jumping into the mode, watching one of the cinematic trailers, or through Aether Hunt is that this mode has new narrative and story attached to it. We were so excited to be able to pull Richtofen (Nolan North), Nikolai (Fred Tatasciore), and Tank Dempsey (Steve Bloom) back into the world of Call of Duty: Mobile and to get their fantastic voice actors, listed in parentheses above, back in the studio to help bring this mode to life!

Ricthofen Needs Your Help

The Story of Undead Siege, you have passed through the rift and entered a different world where Richtofen, Nikolai, and Tank Dempsey await after arriving purely by accident. Aether energy has pulled open seams of the multiverse and brought you together with this wonderful cast of iconic ZOMBIES characters, but this is not a brand-new story based off of those in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series. Instead, it is alternate space in time where these characters, enemies, and worlds can intermix.

Together you all must defend the control center, a device made to pull you out of this multi-versal space. If you defend it long enough it can open a way for you to return to your world. However, aetheric energy rages at night and attracts all sorts of undead threats to your doorstep. Play through it all and hard mode to unlock the whole story.

Undead Siege

Turrets, one of the first things you’ll notice in Undead Siege is that your normal weapons are not strong enough to hold back the hordes. You’ll need all manner of upgradeable and specialized turrets to help you keep the control center safe. Turrets start at Sentry Turret, the most basic and fast firing machine gun turret, but can be upgraded into all kinds of devastating options, like Grenade, Cannon, and Fire Turrets. Check out this tutorial video for an overview of the system:

Zombies, as you may have seen from our images or videos above you aren’t just facing off against basic shamblers but a whole array of challenging enemy types. You’ll have to fight aggressive zombies that might only care about taking out players, or only turrets, or the control center, but there are also some that just support other zombies. There are many types of zombies, but each have different ways to effectively take them down and some are worth prioritizing over others due to how destructive or powerful they are. Take a look at those different types below:

Zombie Type Tutorial

Talents, in Undead Siege you may lose and often depending on the difficulty you tackle and your teammates, but we’ve setup a system that is always meant to reward you for playing. Some of that might just be tasks and rewards, like Aether Hunt, but there are also permanent upgrades that make you stronger called Talents. These Talents improves turrets, your damage, your health, and more. Talents can be upgraded by collecting Aether Shards and Crystals, which can be earned just by playing matches and collecting enough experience to unlock new tiers in Richtofen’s Rewards.

Talent System

Richtofen’s Rewards, the simplest way to explain this new system is to say it is basically a free battle pass specifically for Undead Siege. There are tasks to work on, rewards to earn (not just crystals for upgrading Talents), and a completionist camo to complete. This system is hefty and meant to provide a wealth of content for all players to engage with, whether you want just a few rewards, need to upgrade your talents, or are looking to collect everything there is for Undead Siege.

Undead Siege is one of the biggest features we’ve ever released for Call of Duty: Mobile and it has been a pleasure to see the response! We know it isn't the same as original ZOMBIES mode, but it is something that fills that cooperative itch in a new way and our teams have poured a lot of passion into make it unique, replayable, and enjoyable.

Stack Multiplayer Map
First seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Stack has made its way to Call of Duty: Mobile and is live now in game! Stack is playable right now in the Stack 24/7 playlist that will last until 8/12. In this playlist you will be playing either Gunfight or 1v1 MP matches, so you better be ready for those high pressure, sweaty palm, intense games. Stack will also be available later in the season in the brand-new game mode Face Off in the Face Off 24/7 playlist starting 8/13 UTC.

New Melee Weapons
This season is an exciting one for many reasons and we are so thrilled to finally say we did it! A free katana is coming this season alongside a Wrench and Machete. It is a season of zombies, double agents, and new melee weapons! Here are the details on each.

Melee Weapons Available in Season 6

Correction on the above image, the Wrench is earned via Richtofen’s Rewards (not Bounty).

Wrench
If you have played Undead Siege then you are already more than familiar with the handy dandy Wrench. The multifaceted weapon can Repair your turrets and generator, take out the bulky Wardens, and once unlocked full can even defeat your enemies in MP and BR. Progress through Richtofen’s Rewards by playing Undead Siege and completing tasks there to get your hands on the Wrench!

Katana
It only took us 3 additional seasons, but the Free Katana is finally here 😉. On 8/20 the Featured Event Sharpened Skills will go live and you will be able to grind for that Katana. To progress through the Sharpened Skills event you will need to complete tasks like killing enemies with melee weapons, earning Backstabber Medals, and killing enemies with the Dead Silence perk equipped. Prove you are truly a master of the melee weapon and the blade, and you’ll earn yourself the long-awaited Katana!

Machete
The ever capable and trusty Machete is useful for more than just cutting through overgrown shrubbery during the oppressing heat of the summer. This new melee weapon is earnable through a Seasonal Challenge, Machete Madness, that we’ll have details on below in the Season Challenge section. However, if you are looking for a supped-up version of this blade you can grab Machete - Dog Tooth in the Rottweiler Draw available now through the store.

Seasonal Challenges
It feels so early in the season to say this but we already have five Seasonal Challenges available! There are still two more on the way, including one to grab the new Rytec AMR sniper rifle, but for now there is a lot to complete and earn. For example, you can grab a brand-new melee weapon, the Machete, a new perk, the Mosaic weapon blueprints, and nearly 100,000 Battle Pass XP (if you completed them all). Here are all of those details below!

Martyrdom
This six-part seasonal challenge is one of the first to launch in Season 6 and it fittingly brings a brand-new perk to Call of Duty: Mobile! Martyrdom is a love it or hate perk that has you dropping grenades whenever you are killed. That means you always have a chance to get revenge from the grave and to greatly annoy your enemies, especially if they are using melee close range tactics. This challenge offers up 16,000 Battle Pass XP on top of the following rewards:

  • 40 Weapon XP Cards
  • (Uncommon) AK-47 – Macaw
  • (Rare) Avatar – From Dog, With Love
  • New Perk – Martyrdom

Survival of the Fittest
This seven-part seasonal challenge is focused entirely on battle Royale and completing various tasks in that mode. There is no specific focus here, instead the challenge is meant to show your overall capabilities in Battle Royale. Survival of the Fittest is a great challenge to use to level up your BP with an offering of 22,000 Battle Pass XP and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Defender - Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Ninja – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Knife - Macaw
  • (Rare) Calling Card – Beach Day
  • (Rare) BK57 – Mosaic

Run & Gun
This six-part seasonal challenge brings you back to Multiplayer and focuses on SMGs to help celebrate the launch of the new MX9 (available in the Battle Pass)! Use various SMGs, including the MX9, to take out enemies and with specific loadouts to complete all of the tasks. For completing this challenge you’ll earn 15,000 Battle Pass XP and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Frag Grenade – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Backpack – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) Pharo – Macaw
  • (Rare) Frame – Exotic Bird Frame
  • (Rare) M4LMG – Mosaic

Scorestreak Smash
This seven-part seasonal challenge is very similar to the Run & Gun except instead of being focused on SMGs it is all about Scorestreaks! This is to help celebrate and encourage you to test out the new Scorestreak - Swarm (available in the Battle Pass) on top of being an excuse for us to give you a variety of credits, weapon XP, 21,000 Battle Pass XP, and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) SMRS – Macaw
  • (Uncommon) MW11 – Macaw
  • (Rare) Charm – Armadillo
  • (Rare) AK117 – Mosaic

Newest Scorestreak - Swarm is Required for Scorestreak Smash

Machete Madness
This seven-part seasonal challenge is similar to the previous two where it is designed to highlight and encourage you test the newest melee weapons. These tasks are all about Multiplayer, getting kills with melee weapons, general kills with any weapon, and using the Wrench (available at Tier 1 in Richtofen’s Rewards). By doing all of this you’ll snag the new Machete melee weapon, 19,000 Battle Pass XP, and the following rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Striker - Macaw
  • (Rare) Spray – Swrod Swipe
  • New Weapon – Machete

New Functional Weapon – MX9
A new highly customizable SMG is here to battle for dominance against the beloved QXR. The MX9 is a fast-firing SMG with a high damage output that can be extremely deadly and accurate if kitted out with precision-based attachments, whether that is for ADS or hip-fire. Here is a sample build:

This new weapon can be earned through the free side of the Season 6 Battle Pass (Tier 21) or through the premium side with the epic MX9 – Stone Serpent (Tier 50). One more functional weapon will be coming later in the season, the Rytec AMR, through a Seasonal Challenge. Season 6 Lucky Draws
We’ve had two lucky draws released already this season and we wanted to quickly highlight them some they are filled with some unusual weapons, operators, and themes.

Gravewalker Draw
The first lucky draw to release in Season 6 is all about looking like a hardened, cool, and efficient zombie hunter. It features Seraph – Gravekiller, who is filled with fury and a desire to wipe out any poor undead creature unfortunate enough to cross her path. Her main weapon is the AGR 556 – Ripper, which is equipped with a bayonet style blade and can actually be used as a melee weapon.

Rottweiler Draw
The second lucky draw to release this season just arrived a day ago and is all about style, gold, and swagger. If you’ve ever had a desire to deck out your weapons, charms, and even a tank in gold then this draw was made for you! It has a brand-new character, Rott, leading the way with his gold pants, gold chains, and gold handguns tucked into his gold belt. Check him out and the rest of the draw in-game now.

Ranked Series 3
Alongside the launch of Season 6 came a new season of Ranked competition with Ranked Series 3! As per usual this new series came with new rewards for both Multiplayer and Battle Royale, a rank reset (down a couple of levels, not a complete reset), and some changes to what maps are available.

Ranked Series 3 - Lerch and the CR-56 AMAX - Street Venom

For this post we would like to primarily focus on the map rotation changes we made. As many players have noted in the community there have been various maps removed or added. Here is a quick summary of those changes and why we made them:

  • Search & Destroy – Takeoff and Summit removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • This was done for a fairly simple reason that Takeoff and Summit were performing below average in relation to balance and match quality (how competitive it is), so we wanted to get some new additions in there to mix it up.
  • TDM – Summit Removed and Slums Added
    • As you’ll see for Summit throughout this post, it was removed in TDM as well for performing below average. That just means the matches on that map were not as balanced, competitive, and enjoyable for players, on average, compared to other maps.
  • DOM – Firing Range and Standoff Removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • While we know Firing Range and Standoff are beloved maps, they are also so well known (since they’ve been in since the beginning) that we’ve seen a high probability of one-sided matches where one team is being completed dominated. As a result, these maps are temporarily removed. Slums will likely be added as well in the future.
  • Hardpoint – Raid removed and Suldal Harbor added
    • This map in particular for Hardpoint has poor overall performance. Removing it to mix it up and give other newer maps a chance to provide a better experience.

Overall, the intention of these map changes is to remove maps that seem to be creating a worse performance for players on average and adding new maps that hopefully will improve the experience. If you find the changes to be worse or better for you then please discuss, let us know, and we’ll keep adjusting and considering other changes for future Ranked Series.

Feedback & Bug Reports
There is a lot we are still working through on this front since the start of the season, but as you may have seen we have already put out some fixes and changes in response to both community feedback and in-game data. We have more on the way, but here are some of the changes we’ve recently made on top of some issues we are investigating:

Undead Siege Specific

  • Added a FPP to TPP switch button
  • Added an icon to the Necromancer Zombie type for better visual identification
  • Extended the 3rd day to allow for more prep time due to the control center moving
  • Duplicate camo rewards now become Aether Shards
  • Vehicles can no longer be destroyed by players
  • Fixed various text inaccuracies

Season 6 General

  • Fixed an issue related to purchasing tiers in the Battle Pass
  • Fixed an issue with store purchases on Android resulting in an error
  • Fixed an issue with an inaccessible mission in Clan Wars
  • Investigating an issue with frequent disconnects for some players
  • Investigating an issue with stuttering due to the UI with aiming
  • Investigating an issue with certain epic blueprints not displaying their special effects after kills
  • Investigating an issue with character voice overs not functioning in Battle Royale
  • Investigating an issue with certain Locus blueprints not having a sniper reticle
  • Investigating some maps glitches on Slums

We are always on the lookout for more reports and feedback that we can share back with our teams, so keep it coming and thank you to everyone who has taken any time to do so! Lastly, the updates notes have been out for a while now but we haven’t been able to share them anywhere outside of the game until now. Not only do these notes below consist of information that you may have seen in-game, but we’ve also added additional details and callouts that we believe the community would be interested in seeing.

For instance, even though it may be a small thing to some we were excited to finally be able to share that we’ve added more customized HUD options in this update! We know that one has been a long-requested feature, just like bringing over some of the BR changes from the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile, some of which have also released in this update. Check that all out in the next section.

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 6: The Heat

  • New weapons, scorestreaks, operator skills, perks, tactical props, new maps and new modes!

  • New Epic Weapon Blueprints:

  • New Epic characters:
    • Rosa - Double Agent, Price - The Captain, Soap - Takedown, Domino - Revolutionary
  • New legendary calling card: Escape in Style

New Free Battle Pass Rewards

  • New functional weapon type: MX9 (SMG)
    • High fire rate and damage, with high precision hit rate if large caliber ammo is used

    • Summon a swarm of Hunter Killer drones to detect and destroy enemies
  • New Featured Events and Seasonal Events Available throughout the season
  • New functional weapon type: Rytec AMR (sniper)
    • Anti-vehicle sniper rifle that can cause a lot of damage to vehicles in BR mode. It is equipped with the unique 25*9mm Thermite 5-R mag and 25×59mm Explosive 5-R mag and can kill opponents in one shot at close range

  • The new Series runs from July to August 2021

Multiplayer

New Maps

  • Slums
    • New compact map featuring streets, buildings, parks and alleys, for players to experience a full range of combat modes (from street battles to sniper duels).
    • Available in these modes: TDM, Domination, S&D, Hardpoint, 10v10 TDM, 10v10 Domination
  • Stack
    • Soldiers must be careful of enemies approaching from both near and far and protect themselves with bunkers.
    • Available in these modes: Gunfight, Duel
  • Nuketown Classic
  • As the summer heat melts the snow away, the classic Nuketown returns!
  • Available in these modes: TDM, Domination, Hardpoint, 10v10 TDM, 10v10 Domination

New Mode

  • Face Off
    • 3v3 intense fighting on a small map!
    • Available in modes: 3v3 TDM, 3v3 DOM, 3v3 KC, 3v3 CTF
    • Included maps: Reclaim, Stack, Cage, King, Pine

Battle Royale

  • New vehicle - Muscle Car
    • Brand new powerful two-seater vehicle with a streamlined body that enables players to burn up the road.

    • Example, improved foliage from the Chinese version of Call of Duty: Mobile

  • New map changes related to Undead Siege

Undead Siege

In the new Undead Siege mode, you will team up with Richtofen, Tank Dempsey, and Nikolai Belinski to survive in an isolated location. You will need to collect materials and supplies during the day and prepare for a surge of zombie attacks at night. Apart from weapons, you can also make use of defense towers to protect yourself. Help Richtofen and his team escape!

  • Weapon balance adjustment in Undead Siege
    • In Undead Siege mode, weapon damage follows different rules.
    • You can check the basic damage of different weapons in your loadout.
    • In the game, weapon damage will increase according to rarity.

Clan Wars

  • New rewards have been added to clan store, like an epic variant the operator Firebreak
  • Players can now view detailed information of clans, including clan trophies and historical performance.
  • Clan leaders are now able to rename clans through name change cards that have been added to the clan store.
  • Chat board now includes a ‘Recruit’ button. Clan leaders can also send detailed clan information to chat channels.
  • Message board has been added to Clan War maps. Click on the chat bar in Clan War to open the message board, and leave a message for your clanmates and foes!

    • Without any attachment: Enhance hip fire accuracy
    • OWC Marksman:
      • Decrease vertical recoil
      • Decrease horizontal recoil
    • MIP Extended Light Barrel:
      • Decrease ADS time
      • YKM Integral Suppressor:
      • Decrease ADS time
    • 40 Round Extended Mag:
      • Increase movement speed
      • Decrease reload time
    • 48 Round Extended Mag:
      • Increase movement speed
      • Decrease reload tim
  • MK2
    • 30-30 Ammo
      • Increased head Damage multiplier

    • Without any attachment: Increase Damage Range

Operator Skill Adjustments

  • Bull Charge: Increase the energy consumed every time you hit the enemy

Scorestreak Adjustments

  • Hawk X3: limit the lifting angle of the machine gun, decrease the duration, reduce the flying speed

Other Adjustments

  • Thermite: decrease the burn damage slightly, decrease the duration of the speed reducing effect, decrease the explosion range slightly
  • Axe: Slightly decrease the damage range and the time to land a hit
  • Baseball Bat: Slightly decrease the damage range and the time to land a hit
  • Sickle: Slightly increase the damage range

Map/mode related optimizations:

  • Meltdown-Domination mode adjustment
  • Adjusted location of point B in Meltdown for gameplay experience and balance
  • Crash- Hardpoint mode adjustment
  • Adjusted location of the first hardpoint in Crash to helicopter wreckage for better gameplay experience
  • Shoot house
    • Optimized color of scenes in Shoot house
  • Aniyah Incursion
    • Indoor effect optimization
    • Optimized indoor lighting and reflection effects
  • Coastal
    • Upgraded the appearance of the police car in Coastal to be more aligned with the scenes

Other optimizations on experience

  • VTOL: Adjusted the locations of the missile button and the movement button
  • Throwing props: Players can split Lethal and Tactical items into two separate buttons in Settings
  • Throwables: When Fast Throw Grenade is on, there will be a new function of displaying throw trajectory if the grenade button is pressed and held
  • Throwables: If the player is killed when he is holding a triggered frag grenade, the grenade will not explode immediately but will fall to the ground and explode when charging time runs out.
  • Operator Skill: The charging progress will be displayed.
  • Operator Skill: All energy will be refunded when dying during activation of the Operator Skill. A majority of energy will also be refunded when dying shortly after activation of the Operator Skill, if the skill was not used. Neither refund applies to Gravity Spikes.
  • Scorestreaks: Players can configure multiple sets of scorestreaks in Loadout, but once scores are obtained in game, the current scorestreaks cannot be changed even if the Loadout is switched.
  • Icons in mini map optimized:
    • Info icons (such as teammate, enemy location, scorestreaks etc.) in the mini map will change in size based on the player's location, and enemies’ altitude information will also be displayed above their red dots in the mini map.
  • Optimized the performance of the Thermite Reload, which can now cause burning damage to enemies within range.

MP Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where player can use the function of one click to ADS and fire continuously (and the fire rate limit is also broken) when using arctic.50
  • Pine Collision BUG in Pine:
    • Fixed abnormal collision of a tree in Pine
  • Terminal:
    • Fixed a bug where a flowerpot could cause a player to get stuck and players could cause damage through walls in the Terminal map
  • Standoff Scene BUG in Standoff:
    • Abnormal display of the fountain in Standoff fixed
  • Suldal Harbor Scene BUG in Suldal Harbor:
    • Missing oil drum in a corner of Suldal Harbor fixed

Battle Royale

Vehicle related

  • Add the function of customized Vehicle operation:
  • Added a separate setting for Vehicle in Settings, where players can customize their preferred vehicle operation mode, and size and position of buttons in each operation mode.
  • Balance adjustment of Vehicle:
  • Reduce the speed of Snowboard when the player skates in non - snow areas

New setting

  • The option to unfold Wingsuit by default - if the setting is on, the Wingsuit will unfold at a certain altitude, and if the setting is off, it requires another click to unfold the Wingsuit
  • Sound visualization in mini map, players can choose to display the location of the sound or its direction
  • Two modes of parachuting are available - sliding the screen to turn by default or sliding the screen to view surroundings which allows movements to be more natural.

Other optimizations

  • New icon above the airdrop box in scenes
  • New icon above the BR Class machine in scenes
  • Sound prompt: Added new prompt of "display the direction of the sound source", which can be switched on/off in: [Settings]-[Basic]-[BR Mode]
  • Sound prompt: Added function of displaying sound prompt on the main screen, which can be turned on/off in: [Settings]-[Basic]-[BR Mode]
  • Added light effects to the 3 kinds of supply boxes in the map, and optimized sound effect of opening boxes
  • Added corresponding special effects to Legendary weapons and custom loadout weapons with Legendary or Mythic skins on the ground.

BR Bug Fixes

  • Fixed wrong display of smoke trail on foot when parachuting

Other General Optimizations

  • Players can adjust zoom on the mini-map, and the mini-map now supports centralization and rotation.
  • New feature: the player can configure and save 2 different settings (HUD options)
  • Sensitivity sharing function: Players can upload their own sensitivity settings to the cloud and generate codes to share with other players. Others can preview and copy the same settings.
  • Added sliding tackle prompt: with the setting enabled, the crouch icon will switch to the sliding tackle icon when the player can make a sliding tackle.
  • Add the ability for teammates to be visible with the setting is enabled, the player can see teammate locations

Rank optimization

Multiplayer

  • New season and new rewards
  • Optimized quality of shared ranked pictures
  • The accuracy of the strength evaluation on MP Rank teams optimized

Battle Royale

  • New season and new rewards
  • Optimized BR matching mechanism to reduce understaffed situations when players are playing in duos or quads.

Heya, that is actually one that is in the For You section currently. If you aren't seeing it that must mean you already own enough of that draw that it isn't populating the option for you. It is meant to only surface draws for you that you have barely touched or never seen, but if you own a certain amount (we aren't sure exactly how much) then it won't populate for you.

Hello, unless you are talking about in Battle Royale (only) then no we are not aware of that. Are you seeing this issue in Multiplayer and do you have all operators downloaded? Some voice lines don't activate unless all of those files are downloaded.

Appreciate that offer and thanks for pinging us about it. Seems to be a lot of weirdness with voice over after this Season 6 update . Yeah, if you don't mind throwing a thread or two at us so we can reference that while also checking ourselves that would be great. No need if it is a pain to find though. We'll check internally.
