Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! We are back today with the last community update of Season 7: Elite of the Elite and with that comes a variety of recaps about the season to make sure you are aware of everything before it leaves. However, we have one of the biggest announcements in the history of Call of Duty: Mobile today - Blackout, the first ever Battle Royale map for Call of Duty, is coming to the game!
This brand-new map will be available on the launch of the new season and with that said today also marks the announcement of that new season! It is our 2nd Anniversary of Call of Duty: Mobile so we are thrilled and honored to announce Season 8: 2nd Anniversary. Check out announcement video that just went live all over our channels:
We have many events coming next week that are tied to Blackout and will help introduce to this huge BR map when it launches on 9/22 at 5 pm (PT), but for anyone who doesn’t know this was the first Battle Royale map in Call of Duty and it was introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Like Isolated, it features many iconic Call of Duty locations, like Firing Range, Hijacked, Nuketown and Raid.
For anyone that played the original Blackout, this version in Call of Duty: Mobile is using the mid-launch year version of the map that includes Ghost Town, Hijacked, and various updates to the map. We can’t wait to for you all to experience itself and to experience the unique events that introduce it, but for now head on over to our Blackout Map Guide Blog to learn more about the new locations.
We’ll have more information about all of that and the new season itself in the next community update (and patch notes post) coming next week. Now, onto the rest of the community update and all of the last bits of information about Season 7!
Here is a quick look at all of the newest events and others launching throughout the week:
- 09/10 – 09/19 ~ Payout S&D Mode (MP)
- 09/17 – 09/23 ~ Alcatraz (BR)
-
09/17 – 09/23 ~ Monastery 24/7 (MP)
-
09/17 – 09/30 ~ Boreal Barrage Draw
-
09/17 – 09/22 ~ Season’s End Event
-
09/20 – 09/22 ~ Grind (MP)
-
09/20 – 09/22 ~ PTFO (MP)
*All Dates UTC
On top of all the above, there are many other events, modes, and challenges still live! Make sure to check out the new Multiplayer map, Monastery, in particular since it is rare for us to launch a map at the tail end of a season like this. However, we love the look and feel of this MP map and are eager to see how it is received by the community.
Like we always say each season, make sure to jump on all of the seasonal challenges before they are gone and to complete as much of the Season 7 Battle Pass as you can. Through both the free BP and seasonal challenges you can grab new functional weapons and unlocks, like the Operator Skill - Kinetic Armor. We’ll have a lot more to acquire before you know it, so finish as much as you can now!

Call of Duty: Vanguard x Call of Duty: Mobile Event
We have had the great pleasure to help celebrate the beta of the upcoming Call of Duty: Vanguard, releasing in November, by giving you a chance to obtain your own Arthur Kingsley operator (an original character from Vanguard) in Call of Duty: Mobile. The Crossplay Open Beta is live this weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and that means anyone who has a PC, PS4 or PS5, or XB1 will be able to jump into the beta for free on any of those platforms.
Vanguard's Arthur Kingsley in CODM
If you play the beta and with an Activision account that is also linked to your Call of Duty: Mobile account then you’ll receive Arthur Kingsley in the near future! You’ll just want to keep an eye out on your in-game mailbox and for more information on this whole event check out the Call of Duty Blog with all of those details!
Undead Siege Update
We’ve appreciated seeing all of the support and feedback around Undead Siege since it launched, and roughly a week ago we announced that Undead Siege will be leaving this season. However, it will be returning new and improved in Season 9! We have plenty of plans to both expand and refine the mode, which should create more ways to engage with it for both casual and hardcore players.
One shout-out about the Aether Crystal Completionist Camo – We are aware this camo has been bugged and not working during Season 7. We unfortunately could not hotfix it before the mode was scheduled to leave, but we’ll make sure that this is no longer an issue once it returns in S9. Thanks for all of the pings and reports about that issue! Otherwise, we’ll share much more about what changes are coming to this mode will be once we get closer to Season 9 and the return of the mode!
Seasonal Challenges Recap
All seasonal challenges are live and with quite a lot to acquire, whether it is nearly 100,000 Battle Pass XP, new weapons like the Prizefighter or Crossbow, or a wide variety of camos and weapon blueprints. Here are some of those top seasonal challenges below and be sure to check them out in-game before Season 8 begins next week!
Target Practice
This seven-part seasonal challenge is entirely focused on Multiplayer and showing that you can complete a variety of skill-based tasks that are focused on precision. This seven-part seasonal challenge is unsurprisingly, based on the name 😉, focused entirely on Battle Royale! These tasks are meant to show a general aptitude for BR and as such they consist of anything from taking out enemies and grabbing customized weapons to using certain vehicle and entering the top 10. For completing all of these you’ll earn yourself 20,000 Battle Pass XP and the following:

- (Rare) DL Q33 – Colorweave
- (Epic) Type 25 – Moonlight Rime
Feedback & Bug Reports
We’ve addressed a wide variety of feedback and bug reports this season, which you can find in all of the previous community updates, but we don’t want to bring up anything new this week due to the impending release. That in-game update will bring with it updated features, many changes, optimizations, bug fixes, and of course new content.
One great thing about this update, which we will happy talk about it in detail later, is that as a part of our ongoing effort to make Call of Duty: Mobile more accessible we've reduced the upcoming app download size by up to 61%! We've done this with some optimizations but also by adding more options to allow you to choose what is downloaded, like HD resources, maps, weapons, and operators. See those options for yourself soon!
We’ll have full patch notes for you early next week once the update releases, so for now keep an eye out and thank you in advance to every player out there who spends any amount of time reporting a bug or sharing feedback in general. In particular, when we launch a big new update our teams keep a diligent eye out for new issues, especially critical ones, and feedback about new events or content. It all goes to shaping the future of the game, like you’ll see this season with many general updates coming to Battle Royale on top of a new map.
Final Notes
We’ll be back with another update sooner than you might think, but for now we just would like to say thank you to everyone who has joined us for the long and wonderful journey that is Call of Duty: Mobile! We can’t believe it has been two years since our original launch and in that time we’ve accomplished a great many things together as a community.
We could write many nostalgia filled paragraphs about how much we cherish this community and how great of a pleasure it has been to help make the game better with your feedback, reports, and discussions, but we’ll save that for our update next week. We’ll see you then and get ready for a wealth of events and content to help celebrate our 2nd Anniversary!
