Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! This may be the last community update of Season 2: Day of Reckoning but this is not a sad event, for you have all experienced much across this jam-packed season of new operators, weapons, maps, modes, and events. You’ve fought across the explosion filled landscape of Battle Royale in armored vehicles of warfare, you’ve adapted to the intensity of Shoot House, and you’ve pushed hard to launch nukes for an appealing little shovel 😉.
That may all be at an end, but we have another season of content just around the corner and one featuring our community team’s favorite theming 2021 (so far)! We’ve already shared a few hints at what is to come last week and for anyone who missed it, here is the first S3 teaser:
https://reddit.com/link/mn89ft/video/xf52z65by1s61/player
If you didn’t listen with the sound on we’d recommend another go since that video not only gives you a glimpse at a brand-new MP map coming next season, but that stellar voice over also hints at a new operator featured in S3. The second post we shared is all about a new functional weapon that many of you seem to be quite familiar with already:
There will be more S3 related posts starting this weekend and then going all the way up until the release! Keep an eye out for those, but this community update today is all about the last events, a few pieces of feedback, some bugs, and more. Let’s dive in!
Here are the latest events or modes releasing this week:
- All Seasonal Challenges Available
- 04/05 – 04/11 ~ Attack of the Undead 20 (MP)
- 04/07 ~ Fight Against the Clock (MP)
- 04/09 ~ Shoot the Ship 24/7 (MP)
- 04/09 ~ Best of Black Ops (MP)
- 04/09 ~ Alcatraz Returns (BR)
- 04/09 ~ Shoot The Ship Event (MP)
- 04/09 ~ Class Act
- 04/09 ~ Eternal Rest Draw

*All Dates UTC
The long-asked for Alcatraz has returned in Battle Royale! Just a reminder, if you want that map to be permanently or more frequently available make sure to show our teams the map is wanted, desired, and worth keeping around by playing it often while it is live over the next week.
Public Test Build
We plan to have an extensive response to this after Season 3 releases, but first and most importantly we wanted to thank the many players who took the time to play this important test build. There wasn’t any exciting new maps or modes here, but there was a wealth of weapon balance changes and to the extent that we wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing them to all players without surveys, testing, and plenty of discussions.
Thirty thousand of you joined that test and we appreciate it so very much! The changes that we intend to adopt from this build won’t be here in time for the next season, but we’ll have some extensive notes on that in a later community update. In that update we’ll share a summary and some fine details about what changes are being made, why, and when you can expect to see them in-game.

Mythic Drop
Back in late 2020 we introduced our first ever mythic quality weapons with the Fennec – Ascended and then later with the Peacekeeper MK2 – Artifact. These two highly customizable high-quality weapons brought with them an array of unique attachments, death effects, and designs.
Last week we released our first mythic of 2021 with the AS Val – Double Edge in the Cross Guard Mythic Drop! This new weapon fires bladed bullets that tear through opponents with the speed and precision that you’ve come to expect of the AS VAL. This new AS Val can be adapted to short, mid, and long-range combat through various attachments unlockable through the unique mythic upgrade system.

Alongside that mythic weapon there are many other items to acquire in this drop like the bladed warrior, the lethal adversary of the UAC, the Knight of Nights – Templar - Royal Knight. Check it all out in-game now and get ready for more as we hope to have high quality drops like this, legendary or mythic, releasing in each coming season of Call of Duty: Mobile!
Seasonal Challenges Recap
All Seasonal Challenges for Season 2: Day of Reckoning are now available and just like with every season we have quite a bit to acquire. You can grab a new perk, a new functional weapon, an epic weapon blueprint, and over 100,000 Battle Pass XP! Here are the details on the biggest challenges of the season, minus the beloved (or infamous 😉) shovel related challenge that released last week:
Elite Marksmen
This six-part Seasonal Challenge is all about using snipers in Multiplayer and BR! In general, the tasks require you just to head out there and collect some wins while getting kills with snipers, but there are also a few specific tasks asking you to use the NA-45 in particular. If you need it, the is NA-45 available in the Credit Store right now. Complete all of those tasks and you can earn a collective 21,000 Battle Pass XP and the following:
- (Uncommon) J358 – Ripped Camo
- (Uncommon) Locus – Ripped Camo
- (Rare) Avatar – Talon
- New Weapon – SP-R 208
Rifle Steamroller
This seven-part Seasonal Challenge is exactly as straight forward as the name implies! Use assault rifles, use them well, and use specific rifles (like the AS VAL) to complete all of these tasks. This one isn’t specific to MP or BR and provides a variety of rewards including 25,000 Battle Pass XP! Here are some of the reward highlights:
- (Uncommon) Combat Axe – Ripped Camo
- (Uncommon) Backpack – Ripped Camo
- (Rare) Charm - First Aid
- (Epic) KN-44 – Golden Talon
Perk Prodigy
This five-part Seasonal Challenge is all about using perks in MP matches in order to earn the brand-new perk – Recon! Specifically, you’ll want to try to using Tracker, Cold-Blooded, Light Weight, and High Alert while taking down enemies in Multiplayer. Complete all of those tasks and you can earn a collective 18,000 Battle Pass XP and the following:
- (Common) Spray – Golden Hunter
- (Uncommon) DR-H – Ripped Camo
- Perk - Recon
You’ve got a week to push through and complete any challenges! We do always find a way to resurface these items & rewards later on and usually though the credit store (other than functional weapons), but it may be a while so be sure to grind and complete what you can now. Best of luck!
Feedback
There has been a lot of feedback in the last week about a few topics and while one of those, Zombies Mode, we don’t have any new information to share yet, there are a few others we can talk about a bit before we move into some new topics next week with Season 3. This is just a small portion of what we’ve talked about throughout S3, so if you are ever curious about something please take a glance through previous community updates to see if we’ve already discussed it or provided any clarity there.
CODM China Build
There have been a variety of new features showing up in the test version of the CODM China build and we’ve seen a significant number of inquiries about whether or not those features are coming to the global version. Our usual response would be, ‘hang tight while we carefully what features make sense to bring over to global’ and that is still the case with any and all features.
For all versions of the game we may release different features purposefully in only one version first in order to test the reception and balance of that, whether it is balance changes, new items, weapon inspection, new vehicles, or even a mode. Be rest assured that we planning to some features from the China version over to the global version, but not with Season 3.
We are working with our teams now to provide more visibility on this process and to share news about all of that as soon as we can. More on that later as we get close to our next major in-game update dropping alongside Season 4!
NA-45 Balance
First off, no we don’t plan to remove this weapon. There are some balance changes already in mind and we’ve seen some comments on those already, but like all weapons we will keep trying to make changes and tweaks to try to get the balance and power of this one right. We’ll see how that feels once we get closer to upcoming competitive events, especially after all of the weapon balance changes release that we are adopting from the test build.
Account Security
Thankfully these types of issues are slowing down, but in recent months due to various attacks on different platforms there have been some unfortunate players who have had their accounts compromised. We unfortunately don’t have a lot of ways to directly assist with this, especially if you are using a Facebook, Line, Google, or Apple account to log into the game since they have their own account recovery process.
However, all we can encourage is to use 2FA (two factor authentication), complex passwords, and other security methods to secure your accounts whenever possible. If you do run into issues with your Activision account you can reach out through the Activision Support Contact Us portal below.
Kill Cams & Cheater Reports
We talked about this one a long time ago, so if you are an ardent reader of these community updates this may feel familiar and redundant, but just a reminder that for cheater reports kill cams are generally not representative of actual gameplay. Kill cams recreate what happened and as a result may look a bit off, incorrect, or unrealistic.
However, with cheaters using egregious cheats, like shooting through walls across a map or super-fast movement, the kill cam is likely to still catch that. We aren’t saying all of this to discourage reporting cheaters (thanks to you all we’ve sent up dozens of reports in S2), but to just explain that minor oddities you see may just be a result of how the kill cam recreates a scene and not someone actually cheating.
We occasionally see those minor oddities brought up as cheating and most of the time it is just the kill cam having a meltdown trying to recreate something haha. However, in the end feel free to share reports any time! We are always willing to take a look.
Bug Reports Summary
Throughout the season we’ve reached out to many players through various community areas and player support channels to investigate issues, and it has resulted in a wide variety of fixes, soon to be fixes, and other issues still under investigation. However, a huge thank you to the many players who have spent time to help us investigate and fix many issues throughout the season.
We still regularly reach out to community areas for info on issues or feedback, but don’t hesitate to reach out to our support channels as well if you ever need help, especially with anything individual just to you, like purchasing issues or account issues. Here are our main support channels:
- In-game support chat

Final Notes
Whew, that was a whole lot of text right 😴 ? But you made it and the next update you'll be reading will be full of Season 3 details, events, videos, and more! As per usual a week before any new update, our team is struggling to not share more every single time we see a post or reply specifically asking about something we know is it in this update. However, we'll just have to hold tight just a bit longer!
For now, we'll just drop a single piece of info to say that the other new functional weapon coming to Season 3 is a secondary weapon! Alright, that's it. That's all you get...also, there may or may not be a riot shield coming in some form, but not as a functional weapon. Okay seriously, that's it! 😉
See you all next week, take care, and good luck to everyone grinding out those challenges and events before the season ends! We wish you luck, especially to those brave souls trying to earn the shovel.
