Global Community Design
Forgive the recap for anyone that read this last week, but at the beginning of August we launched a unique event in-game, which was found through the Announcement Tab, focused around getting a community weapon design into our upcoming anniversary season. For this event, everyone was able to pick between six different popular weapon types, like the AK47 or ICR-1, and six different popular season themes, like Going Dark or Tokyo Escape.
After that being live for just over a week we’ve closed voting and have found a winner after combining the results from all Call of Duty: Mobile regions! Over 2.5 million votes were cast in this design event and it was a fierce battle for the AK-47 and Going Dark theme frequently rising and falling as votes were counted, but in the end there was a clear winner: PP19 Bizon and the Anniversary 2020 design.
Congrats to everyone who was fighting to see either this weapon or design end up at the top! Our team is already working out how to design this weapon blueprint and will have it ready to go when we arrive at our Call of Duty: Mobile 2nd Anniversary. This winning design & blueprint will be available to all players, likely through an event or just freely collectable, during that time period. We’ll share more about this once we get closer to that exciting and jam-packed month!
New Functional Weapon - Rytec AMR
A new sniper rifle released into the Call of Duty: Mobile weapon ecosystem yesterday and it is already making waves with its powerful thermite rounds! The Rytec AMR is that rifle and it is a powerful but slow precision sniper that is likely to drop your enemies in just one shot. Here is a glimpse at its stats and some basic recommendations for attachments:
Rytec AMR - New Functional Sniper Rifle
As you can see the fire rate on the AMR is abysmal and it has a serious kick (recoil), but the damage is top of the line. You can add Explosive and Thermite Magazines for additional damaging effects too. Thermite adds a short damage over time to the area of your shot while the Explosive option adds an immediate area of effect damage. For a quick run-down of the stats, attachments, and unique features of this weapon take a look at the latest video:
Rytec AMR - Weapon Breakdown Video
You can snag this new sniper rifle from two places right now: the Sharpshooter Seasonal Challenge and the Abyssal State Mythic Drop. The next two sections will cover more on both of those and provide nay details you might want to know about either option, but if you are looking for a powerful and modifiable new sniper to try out then you don’t need to look beyond the Rytec AMR.
Abyssal State Mythic Drop
Every other season we have a new Mythic weapon joining the fray and this time around it is the hydroelectric Rytec AMR – Nautilus. With this new mythic you can channel the power of the sea by turning your enemies into steam, ice, or water with new kill effects or by covering your own weapon with frost and ice when getting consecutive kills without dying.
This futuristic weapon fueled by hydroelectricity comes through the Abyssal State Mythic and it is not alone there, it is accompanied by the similarly futuristic and stylish Siren – Hydrodynamic, the AK-47 - Deep Tech, and the unique Flashbang Grenade - Deep Tech that comes with its own visual effects. Get a look at Siren, the Rytec AMR – Nautilus and some of its kill effects in the latest video:
Abyssal State Mythic Drop Video
Lastly, for those unfamiliar with Mythic weapons they come with their own upgrade path that includes a variety of unlockables, like kill effects, charms, and customization items. Once you acquire the weapon it will have its own upgrade options, in a separate area outside of the Mythic Drop and you can progress through the unlocks/upgrades by using Mythic cards. Check it all out in-game now through the store!

Faceoff Mode
To take a quick break from focusing on the new Rytec AMR sniper rifle, we have a new mode launching this week too – Faceoff! This new 3v3 mode has you fighting it out on small maps with no scorestreaks available but operator skills are still unlocked and you can unlock powerful perks with killstreaks instead.
Additionally, this mode has a little bit of Kill Confirmed in its DNA since you’ll need to collect your enemies dog tags to win! Just don’t forget that you can also deny the enemy from collecting them when you or your teammates go down. Map wise, you’ll see this available on a mixture of small maps like Rust, Shipment, Stack, and King. As with any new mode, there is also a featured event, also called Face Off, live now to help give you some rewards. You can snag the following:
- Credits and Weapon XP Cards
- (Uncommon) SP-R 208 – Guarana
- (Rare) Sticker – Savage Champion
- (Rare) AS Val – Mosaic
Seasonal Challenges
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming of talking about the Rytec AMR 😉. The last two Seasonal Challenges this season offer a variety of items though, not just the Rytec AMR, and of course a hefty pile of Battle Pass XP to help push you along through those tiers. Read on for all of those details!
Hiker’s Havoc
This seven-part seasonal challenge is focused entirely on Battle Royale and doing a wide variety of tasks in that mode. You are tasked with using vehicles in general, exploring the map in new Coupe, using the Trap Master class (now in the credit store), and just making it to the top! For doing all of this you’ll take home a hefty 21,000 Battle Pass XP and the following:
- (Uncommon) Scout – Macaw
- (Uncommon) Medic – Macaw
- (Rare) ATV – Mosaic
- (Rare) Sticker – Put in Drive
- (Rare) LK24 – Mosaic
- (Rare Operator) Scout 2 – Vicious Shoal
Sharpshooter
This seven-part seasonal challenge is also focused on Battle Royale, except as the name suggest it is all about using sniping rifles. In general, you can fly through most of these challenges just by getting kills in Battle Royale and by using sniper rifles at long-range. However, there are also a few more challenging ones that require the use of snipers + specific perks or the Locus with some attachments.
Doing all of this will bring you one of the biggest Seasonal Challenge hauls of Battle Pass XP in S6 with 23,000 XP! However, of course you can also unlock the following rewards:
- (Uncommon) Spray – Fiona on Vacay
- (Rare) .50 GS – Mosaic
- (Rare) Calling Card – Summer Standoff
- New Functional – Rytec AMR
Credit Store Update
To round out the new events launching this week, we have the second the credit store update of the season! This new update brings a mixture of items to snag, like a perk, on top of Scorestreak – Shield Turret and everything else that launched at the beginning of Season 6: The Heat. Here is the list:
- (Epic) Charm - Donu-Corn (3K credits)
- SMRS - Steam Engine (3K credits)
- Kilo Bolt-Action – Macaw (1.5K credits)
- ATV – Bandana (1.2K credits)
- Perk – Launcher Plus (2K credits)
Launcher Plus Perk Available via Credit Store
Feedback & Bug Reports
We are mid-season already and that means we've mostly been focused on two things, bug reports and working on the next season. There is of course plenty still releasing week by week in Season 6: The Heat, but generally no new issues are popping up unless it is related to a new event.
However, there has been a lot of discussion since S6's release and a lot for us to look into due to this update being one of our biggest in 2021! See below for some quick mentions of what we are currently looking into!
Next Public Test Build
One of the most frequent questions we get, even after a new season just launched haha, is "when is the next test server coming?" We appreciate the interest and excitement expressed towards these, but at the moment we have no news on when the next one will arrive. We are currently not planning one for Season 7.
Lag & Disconnects in South Asia
First, apologies to all who have been experiencing these issues since Season 6 released. We reached out to many players about this when it first occurred, shared that back with our teams to test, and came out of that with no clear problems found.
The servers in that region seem to be operating normally and other than the issues being region based there is nothing that we can clearly try to reproduce, test, and fix. With that said, we are still trying to check back on these issues to see if it is still an ongoing for players, especially in India, and we will reach out in various areas of the community to try to gather more information.
Performance Issues in Undead Siege
We've seen various reports of issues with low frames per second and some general choppiness in Undead Siege and unfortunately it looks like the type of issue that is going to be very mixed. Meaning, how much you experience those issues is going to vary widely based on your device and it may be tough for us to improve due to how much it varies. However, we are still on the look out for these reports, so please do send them our way or through Activision Player Support channels.
Issues Under Investigation
- An issue where fast throw may be unintentionally changed
- An issue with VO being switched to default for Otter and Helen Park
- An issue with stuttering due to the UI with aiming
- Certain epic blueprints not displaying their special effects after kills
- Certain Locus blueprints not having a sniper reticle
- Operator voice overs not functioning in Battle Royale
- Map glitches on Slums
- LA Thieves and LA Guerillas Calling Cards Displaying Incorrectly
- MX9 incorrectly, in text, listed as an assault rifle
Aether Hunt launched last week and Undead Siege is still a topic of frequent conversation and discussion, so when saw this creation by u/taken_username456 earlier in the week and we knew that we had to share it with all other Undead Siege fans out there!
Into the Aether by Taken_Username456
This mode is all about venturing into the great unknown with your friends or strangers and trying your best to work together to survive. Taken_usernames456 created this to show a team teleporting through an Aether portal. It is so very appropriate for Undead Siege and we appreciate how many people jumped into this post to share their love of this work. Well done!
There is still plenty out there to explore in Undead Siege, whether it is Aether Hunt, Richtofen’s Rewards, or the trying to max out your talents to that point where even Hard Mode starts to feel like a breeze. We’ll share more news about Undead Siege when we can, but keep talking about, keep playing, and keep showing your passion for the mode!
One last note, but we may have some Season 7 hints coming your way soon! Keep an eye out for that on our social channels and see you all next time! Take care.
