Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! We are only one week into Season 12: Going Dark and while much has already been released, we still have plenty more releasing throughout this next week and throughout the rest of the season. The biggest piece of content dropping now is Knights Divided, the featured event for Season 12 that pits Red vs Blue in a battle for global domination!

On top of that we still have a wide variety of playlists and events available, and more coming soon that will provide new opportunities to dive into Night mode. We also have many different pieces of feedback and bug reports to discuss this week alongside a weapon design highlight of a great community artist who multiple people have recommended to us in the last two weeks.

Before we head in, just a general thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share in the excitement of this release with us and for showing so much appreciation for the dark and militaristic approach we took with the S12 theme. It is a pleasure to bring such a strong offering of characters this season, like Captain Price, Ghost, Templar, and many others. Thank you!

For all of you Battle Royale players looking at that list and getting concerned, don’t fret! The Surviving Alcatraz BR event just ended today, but we have more coming up next week and there are many general events or Seasonal Challenges that are also applicable to Battle Royale. There is still plenty more to come this season, so once again take a glance at the S12 roadmap to get a glimpse of what will be dropping later on in the season.

Coming up next on this list would be Attack of the Undead and the Seasonal Challenge that gives you a shot at grabbing the powerful hand-cannon that is the .50 GS. We’ll share the exact dates and details of those next week, but if you have any questions about any of the upcoming content feel free to ask!

Knights Divided
If you’ve been reading the comics (found in the Battle Pass section of the game) you’ll know that Ghost, Captain Price, and the rest of the crew are getting ready to face off against Mace and the Knights. Knights Divided asks you to pick a side in that upcoming battle, fight for territories, and push your faction to victory. Here are the basics:

  • 15 days long
  • Every 24 hours a new territory will be surface, with only 1 territory open at a time
  • Each territory will have a task associated with it. Take on the task to earn points for your faction
  • The faction with the most points when a territory closes will claim that territory
  • Each player and faction will receive various rewards through leaderboards, milestones, and of course through which-ever faction wins it all

Some of the Epic rewards up for grabs are displayed right in the video above 😉. You’ll be able to earn Razorback – Ruby or Sapphire, Locus – Schism, Elite PMC – Ultramarine or Red Curtain, and over a dozen other rewards including weapons, charms, frames, and calling cards.

This is a brand-new type of event, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for feedback or issues. If you see anything please share through any community or support channels. For now, head in-game, choose your side, and take the fight to the enemy in the first territory!

Hackney Yard & Night Mode
There is only a few days left to catch Going Dark TDM playlist, which features the new Night Mode on Crash, Summit, and Hackney Yard. However, coming up soon we have another playlist (Hackney Yard 24/7) coming that will be, as you can guess by the name, all about Hackney Yard. This will feature both the day and night version of the map, but make sure to try Night Mode on all maps before it is gone.

While there aren’t any events focused specifically on rewarding you for jumping into these playlists or maps right now, there are still plenty of Seasonal Challenges available that have MP focused tasks that are applicable. However, Hack The Yard is a new event launching alongside Hackney Yard 24/7 on the 25th. Through that event you can snag the Type 25 – Dark Light alongside a few other rewards just for playing on this map. Check it out next week!

Seasonal Challenges
We have two more Seasonal Challenges starting today and with one focused around Multiplayer while the other is all about Multiplayer. Just a reminder, as we get further in the season a lot of these Seasonal Challenge tasks may start to overlap and is it potentially possible to complete multiple at the same time. Let’s take a look at the two starting today.

Total Savage
This six-part seasonal challenge is for those who excel at Multiplayer! Do you regularly get medals like or Berserker, Merciless, Ruthless, Relentless, Brutal? Then this challenge will be a walk in the park for you, but for everyone else this challenge requires some luck, skill, and serious survival abilities.

If you aren’t familiar, those are all medals that are kill X number of enemies without dying. Best of luck holding down an area and reaping in those kills without going down (Scavenger perk recommended). Here are some of the main rewards you can snag in this challenge:

  • (Uncommon) KN-44 - Alarm
  • (Rare) RUS-79U – Bronze Arrow
  • (Rare) Calling Card – Gun Rattler
  • Over 10,000 Battle Pass XP

Prime Loadout
This eight-part seasonal challenge wants you to jump into Battle Royale and complete a wide variety of different tasks. Some tasks ask you to take out enemies with specific types of weapons or even just rarities, while others ask you to get kills using Nomad – Bug Spray (currently available in the Credit Store). For all of these tasks you have a few rewards available to snag:

  • (Uncommon) Ninja – Alarm
  • (Uncommon) PDW-57 - Alarm
  • (Rare) Helicopter – Bronze Arrow
  • (Rare) Javier Salazar – Bronze Arrow
  • A significant amount of Weapon XP and BP XP

We’ll have one more Seasonal Challenge coming next week and more releasing all the way into early December. The challenge next week, Small Arms releasing on November 26th (UTC), contains a chance to grab the long awaited .50 GS pistol. Not only is this pistol hefty, but it can also be used akimbo for all of you bold and aggressive players.

Feedback

This week we don’t have any single issue we want to discuss at length, but instead we want to do some quick-fire responses to a variety of topics we’ve seen come up frequently in the last week.

  • Fennec Weapon Balance – Like any new weapon we are giving it some time to breath before making any balance changes, but our teams are monitoring.
  • Diamond Camo – Like we mentioned a while back, this is still in progress and we can’t give a solid release date yet. Just a quick reminder that it exists.
  • Public Test Build – We will most likely have another one before the next update.
  • Voices for Various Characters – We see these requests and while we can’t speak specifics yet, but we do have more voice overs coming in the next update.
  • Zombies Mode – Still no news on this front, but we know that won’t stop some folks from asking about it anyways every single day haha.
  • More HUD Layouts – We’ve also seen this request quite a few times, not exclusive to Season 12, and while we don’t have any news to share it doesn’t mean it isn’t being considered.
  • S13 Information – Way too early! We appreciate our passion and excitement though 😉

Bug Reports

First off, in the last two community updates we’ve addressed a variety of other bugs or issues that are still under investigation. In particular, Desync and lag is a long-term challenge that our teams are seriously looking at it to see what can be done to make meaningful improvements in various regions. However, here are a few issues that we’ve seen brought up in the last week.

Loot Not Loading in Alcatraz
We’ve seen a few reports of players not seeing loot spawn quickly when landing in various parts of the Alcatraz Battle Royale map. Our initial response to this is that it is likely just low-end devices struggling to load everything quickly, but some of these reports directly contradict that with device specifications that are clearly not low-end. We are looking into this further to see what can be found.

Auto-fire Not Triggering on Prone Players
This is an older issue that we had thought was fixed in prior updates, but there are some very clear and well documented reports of it occurring in the current build. This is a clear and easily checked issue, so there shouldn’t be any information we need from anyone but thank you to those who brought it up again in the first place and in particular this excellent bug report by u/YellowJalapa.

Ghost Cape (Fixed)
We’ve seen a few reports of this issue even after we fixed this issue, but after some investigating we’ve found (as many players have pointed out as well) that is only occurring on low-end devices with low graphical settings selected. This is not something that can be changed on those low graphical settings.

Phantom Footsteps in BR (Fixed)
We put a small Hotfix a few days ago that should have fixed issues with players hearing phantom sounds, in particular footsteps, in Battle Royale and on Isolated. With that said, if you are still encountering any issues with sound related bugs please reach out and report it!

Support Options
Lastly, we’ve mentioned multiple times how important it is to report any bugs or issues you are seeing with new updates so please make sure to reach out through any of support channels. As much as we spend time gathering reports from community areas, it is also vitally important that reports come through our Player Support channels.

We are happy to be back this week with some great player-made art to highlight! You may have already seen a few of these designs, but u/QxEntity has been throwing out a variety of weapon designs for months. Not only are they making some creative designs, but they are very open about what they are using to create these pieces as well.

Locus - Holy Grail

Hey hey, Night Mode is currently going and in out this season through limited time playlists. At the moment it looking to be just a limited time mode, but we'll see after our teams evaluate the general reception towards it. Alcatraz is still being discussed as well and we don't have a clear decision to share back yet.

Also, the test server isn't 100% confirmed but it is looking very likely. We are working on that as well right now and should have that confirmation by the next update! Thanks for the follow-ups.

Haha, the whole point of what? But we still might at some point! It isn't worth ruling out. Alcatraz is our halfway in-between attempt at that since it is generally a much darker map despite still being in the day.

Heya, that's an interesting list of feedback and thanks for laying it out so clearly. We'll share this with the team, but would you mind clarifying what you mean by adjustable vehicle controls? Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Greetings and please no need to apologize, your English is plenty good! We can understand everything easily. We are very glad to hear that the game has been help you get through some difficult times and that you are encouraged to reach out with feedback. We hope that this space, especially after these updates, is always seen that way.

Anyways, we'll try to answer each of those questions!

  • Modifying UI (user interface) - This is something our team gradually does over time with small changes with each update, but occasionally there are huge changes, like with Gunsmith in Season 9. We aren't aware of any huge changes coming, but you can always be sure that there will be small tweaks constantly rolling out.
  • Health Bars - That was probably considered at some point during early development but then specifically chosen to not do. The team doesn't currently plan to adopt anything like that though. We are happy with the current clean look in regards to damage feedback.
  • Movement For Charms - This is tied to the physics engine and it is something that is purposefully disabled on low graphical settings. We actually have quite a few things that are implemented or restricted like this on lower settings to prioritize performance above all else. That whole physics based implementation has an effect on performance (FPS), so it is unlikely it is something we'll be turn on for lower end devices.
  • FOV Settings - Usually FOV changes, surprisingly to many people, have a significant impact on gameplay and especially on competitive levels. However, this is something that could come at some point in the future, other FPS titles have provided options for this, but we aren't aware of any discussions around this at the moment. We'll keep an eye out for any news on that.

Yeah, but we've always been upfront about Night Mode being specific to Multiplayer to this season. It kind of sounded like there was no point in doing Night Mode without doing it for BR, which we find to be a bit confusing since it originates from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and it was only in MP there as well outside of some unique limited BR modes.

If people don't like it that or aren't playing it that much, then yes it is possible it could go away. However, at the moment it looks to be quite the opposite. So, our teams discussing right now if they want to have it be always-on or just frequently featured. We'll hopefully be share some news on that soon in a future community update.

Yes! We've heard this request quite a few times recently and we plan to push it back up to our dev team to see what their thoughts on it. It may already be planned for the upcoming Ranked Series (launching with the next update and season).

Hey, we aren't aware of any changes coming to that but we have a rather large dev team and a lot being worked on all of the time, so it is normal for us to not know about something very specific like that. We'll ask directly and see if we can get some information on that.

Heya, thanks for bringing this odd issue up. Does this always happen in the same way for you and do you have any screenshots or anything we can share? Like are you using a specific door in the basement of the apartment building? There are multiple entrances there and many different ways that this issue could be triggered.

Hey, first off thank you! Secondly, the bad news is that we don't see that mode on the calendar of upcoming events for the rest of S12. We'll ask the team directly though to see if there is anything we can share about it.
