Momentum based movement, introduced in update 38, is a good looking thing from a spectator's perspective. Instead of your character suddenly jerk to action, you now have this subtle, graceful transition from staying completely still to the actual action. It looks natural, elegant, and most of all, realistic.

If you are in control of the character, however, this is a huge problem.

When you are performing an action in real life, your action actually has a slight delay from your current action to the next. Except that, when you are the one performing those actions, your brain does not notice those delays because in your brain, the two actions are connected. Your mind is already focusing on the next action. Your brain does not have a delay from what you're doing now and what you're going to do next. Your brain transitions your intent smoothly.

Right now, the character's new movement introduces a delay that only makes perfect sense from a spectator's perspective, and forces the player controlling the character into a role of a spectator instead of the brain of the character. And that is why everything feels sluggish.

This is why the new movement system is annoying.
