[2020] How my Conan experience has been so far!

Sorry if some parts don’t make sense, pretty tired after a long day and blown out.

So my friends and I are all new to Conan exiles (literally started playing two days ago) and we’re really enjoying the game and the little things like building a cool looking base, gearing up, finding new stuff to do each day etc. The only problem is there’s this guy really kinda picking on us and we’re helpless to say the least.

Our first encounter, he was in our base stealing our pets (which was all fun and games, we found it hilarious) and then I checked his name (I think his name was something similar to Articus? I’ll just call him that) on the player list, turns out he’s a lvl 60 and apart of a huge clan so we thought, yikes better let him take it lol (it was a tortoise creature and a panther)

The second time was pretty annoying as we all decided to hop out of our comfort zone and explore the map. We (Me, Po and Kyte) went from (probably) K3 to C3, found heaps of cool stuff a long the way (I still get giddy when I see hide heh) and excited to bring it all back to base. We versed a boss monster but it was clear we weren’t gonna beat it with our tools as well as Po being killed, so we decided to retreat. I stay near Po’s items while Kyte runs out to explore more, it’s not long before we hear her screaming “people are chasing me!”. I’m stunned cause we’ve not encountered a lot of people in the game, probably only 3 so far. So Po is racing back so we can help her and I’m honestly being a massive pussy (I really suck at pvp but they wanted a pvp server and I didn’t mind, thinking I wouldn’t ever have to fight), telling Kyte to just keep him distracted as long as possible so Po can get his things and we can charge him. We charge in just as he deals a finishing blow to Kyte and realise it’s that Articus dude from before. He didn’t see us cause he was looting her corpse, so we just went in for some free hits (he had an NPC with him but it wasn’t attacking us.) We’re chasing him in circles trying to kill him but he heals more than we hit, we still persist so we can take back the loot he stole from our friend. Ring O’ Rosy goes on for about seven minutes, Po and I are ready to do this all day lol until a knight swoops in on a horse and kills both of us in 2 hits each while Articus loots all our stuff. I really don’t see the point in them chasing my friend and killing us as our armour was sh*t tier plant fibre and the best thing in our inventories was probably 3 steel ingots :( lol. Po actually met the knight dude before this and he was nice, actually helped us out with a big monster but after this he told us we shouldn’t gang up on people and to stop picking on Articus. Also if you go on the player list, Articus and knight dude weren’t even apart of the same clan, so I can see them viewing us as an annoying new clan trying to start trouble amongst an established hierarchy but what could a group of three noobs really do to a server full of only lvl 60s, with three very prominent clans? And we’ve managed to piss off two of them already lol.

Finally today we hop on, Po suggests we do a thing he searched up on the internet. It’s a part where we give a wolf some feral meat and he gives us a potion that teleports us to this cool place. We’re having a hoot in the place, albeit we were on the brink of death throughout the whole run, but it was so much fun and it was giving us loot we had never seen before. We go back into the centre after doing the first route and go to the right of the first route cause we wanted to get items from that side. We emerge from the 1st route again and run to the centre to get water. As we’re there, we see the second wolf door open, we were confused cause we only went the first route so we thought it unlocked cause we finished the right side of the 1st route. Kyte runs ahead of us while we get our water, she comes back cause we call her back to decide which direction we go. As she’s walking back two humans figures are walking behind her, so we’re like “oh NPCs” and we’re going up to them and they just start charging at us killing Po almost instantly, that’s when we realise it’s Articus again -_- this time with a new friend. Him and his friend chases us throughout the dungeon, Kyte attacking occasionally, doing little to no damage and she eventually gets killed. Me being the only one left and terrible at pvp, I just run in circles around the centre (for literally about another 7 mins?) not knowing how to get out of the dungeon, so at that point I was just trying to tire them out or get them bored from chasing me (as well as keep all the stuff we just got cause they had already looted the other two.) Luckily Po figures out how to leave and tells me how to get out, so I escape with the loot, while they bully Kyte in there cause she still didn’t understand how to get out lmao.

Anyway that’s our story for now. We went back to base and stayed there for the rest of our session not wandering far. Still a very fun game, really keeps me on my toes. Now the plan is just to get better gear!
