Before I will post calculations I must say something:
It's VERY good that developer nerfed the grind. It's VERY good that developer nerfed golden units. Overall, those changes are PERFECT for the game.
There is only 1 problem: people already invested a lot of time and they lost the time. How much?
Let's see:
I have 3 golden units: Elite Iron Reapers, Elite Monastic Kniths and baby Tercio.
Before patch I spend 20700000 experience to level up my IR and 20700000 to level up my MK.
After the patch you can level up those units for 28644000 less exp to the same level.
In 1 battle you can get different number of experience, depends on premium account, premium units, exp events, exp cards, having all other units in lineup elite etc. We will assume that on average you can get 20000 exp per battle and random battle on average have ~15 minutes duration.
So... I lost 358 hours of playing in comparison to new player who will grind those units after the patch.
Let's go back to honour. Reapers are now almost 300k honour cheaper than before, Tercios are 144k cheaper. In total - 434610 honour lost.
Let's say I was doing weekly honour limit every week and getting honour from daily/chests/fief quests. That's ~35000 honour per week.
So... I lost 3+ months of playing in comparison to new players who will grind those units after patch.
To sum up: people are not angry (like dumb people on discord says) because they will be not able to just 1-shot weaker players on random battles. People are angry, because they lost sh*tLOAD of hours and they can take back only lost honour IF THEY WILL PAY EURO.
Changes to the game are good, but developers should compansate all lost time (lost honour and lost time for grinding) to players who already did that grind. It's not "1 skin or month of premium time" compensation, it should be compansating all lost time and honour.
