there is no aspect of "NFTs in video games" that is even remotely a good idea and it is simply unreal to see these big companies pushing it into the mainstream. the only audience this caters to is "greedy wannabe wall street bros". really? that's the playerbase you're aiming for?

any thread i see about how absurd the concept is (ie. "even if your unique item is NFT-backed its value is still entirely dependent on whether the game itself cares to honor its existence") is met with dismissive QRTs either happily (knowingly?) ignoring the point or going "NGMI"

i've been seeing just about every celeb under the sun buying into this blatant LuLaRoe-tier scam and i am just so tired. everything is already so bad. why are we trying so hard to come up with new ways to damage our culture and our climate. i just wanted to play video games

i don't care for any wacky proof-of-stake advancements meant to diminish their environmental impact next year. NFTs are the 2021 flavor-of-the-year fad and the bulk of them is being minted right now. the damage is happening right now

the only thing NFTs successfully decentralize is global warming - thanks to crypto, industrial megacorps aren't the only ones selling our kids' future for a quick buck anymore; you too can hasten the planet's ecological collapse for a tenuous chance at personal gain
