Heroes and Acolytes!
TL;DR: Fatshark hired me as a community manager to help shape their influencer and community strategy, so I'm leaving to avoid conflict of interest, bai! (Also, r/Darktide wants to bring on more mods.)
Effectively November 1, I will no longer be part of the mod team on r/Vermintide & r/Darktide. I have also forfeited all mod/organizer positions on any Discords or projects I moderate or run (such as Fight the Tide and Onslaught Tournament Series).
Why?
Starting on that day, I will be working with Fatshark Games to help support Fatshark Games as a Community Manager (don't fret, /u/fatshark_hedge isn't going anywhere).
It's been an amazing, wild, super cool 3 (?) years with this community and running events for you all, and I'm super excited to bring some of that passion and community voice to the developer that makes the games we feel so strongly about.
While we've had our struggles and hiccups, the majority of the Vermintide community is fantastic and what I consider one of this game's greatest assets, and firmly believe you all have been one of the biggest reasons Vermintide II continues to be a game we recommend to friends and surmount new challenges with, and why Darktide is so eagerly awaited.
/u/Vaeneas, /u/-sevenproxy-, and u/Billedale have done an incredible job since bringing them into the fold just around a year ago, and I have no doubts they will continue keeping the subreddits running smoothly. To help with the transition, the mod team has brought on /u/incandescent_au, who you might also recognize from the official Vermintide and Darktide discords. I've no doubt he'll be a net boon to you all as well.
What happens to Vermintide Festival & the Onslaught Tournament Series?
The greater umbrella of the Fight the Tide Twitch channel has been passed onto u/ishkatv, who will also be maintaining any income generated from this channel to put back into community events If you are interested in helping maintain and/or create events for this channel, please message him.
The Onslaught Tournament Series is currently maintained by Jarsa, RoB, Havoc, Incandescent, and Nayre. The greater Onslaught Series umbrella is maintained by Bioshift. Any and all requests and questions should be sent to someone on the staff team.**
So what happens now?
I'll still be around playing Verm and participating in discussions, I'll just be taking more of a supporting role from Fatshark's end. Currently, I still need to onboard and get my bearings and align with the team. I'll update everyone on how and in what capacity I can help support you all and best help you!
The r/Darktide staff team will soon be putting out a call for more moderators, so keep your eyes peeled on that front if you're interested; I can confirm they're a super cool and very chill bunch!
Again, thank you all so much for building the subreddit to what it is today, coming together as a community when the need calls for it, and overall making r/Vermintide & r/Darktide a generally chill place to moderate (with some umgak along the way).
I shall leave my last mod action on the sub for pinning this post. :)
Be excellent to each other, and continue racking up those Skaven kills. The End Times need heroes like you.
