I love the concept of consumable emotes, allowing for a bit of seasonal cheer and nostalgia without having to spend plat on something I'd end up using two or three times a year. Being able to share it with everyone is a wonderful plus. I'm really happy that you devs managed to find a balance between inclusivity and giving everything away.
The bug with the grand pumpkin, while spoiling the idea of saving curiosities for memorable occasions or for nostalgia, did bring the community together in servers in a very wholesome manner. While I think it needs a fix, It would be nice if the capacity to spontaneously spread cheer in a sustainable fashion through giving in a small group on a server could be made into a feature of some sort.
The nevermore event could have been worded better, the randomness associated with the braziers relighting and the lack of an indication of when one was about to light up were certainly issues of concern, but they've been acknowledged on the discord by devs, and I have some faith since you guys threw the moon at shrowd's tail that you do try to fix things. I also felt that Damage reduction could have been replaced with speed, since DR throws off health calculations. I'm loving the idea that you guys took an experimental feature for Frost escalation and the hunting grounds, the alternate loss condition and tried it out for an event. I think this is a great way at doing events without focusing on them exclusively.
I'm especially thankful that you guys are doing things that require some degree of coordination or skill, letting folks who've played the game alone gain the reward while also letting players who have connections from having played this game for a long time have a good chance as well. End game players have some reason to be optimistic with this event, even if it could have been better, and though a lot of familiar faces have left.
With the coming of hunting grounds, the end of power creep by isolating lantern boosts to the respective escalation and the input system overhaul, the game is probably going places.
One thing I'd like to mention is that the vast majority of players will likely not know of these updates, and we direly need a channel for passing on this information. This would really help in tempering expectations and in understanding the logic behind decisions.
The pandemic has complicated work for a lot of gaming companies, and I'm really happy to see such good work coming from your team. You guys are appreciated, thank you.
