Now that fresca is about to be released there is only one element left - radiant. I thought about it for a second, what similarities the escalations have and what it could be. I instantly noticed that in every escalation (except sesca and arguably besca) some civilisation has been threatend by an aetheric disaster for a keystone behemoth to live there.

Because I knew that the radiant element had some weird connection to the umbral element I read all the umbral escalation nodes all over again.

What I thought was just a mystery that was just there to make the lore beefier for no reason was the light sword that was the sword cosmetic of that season, but set on an alter, glowing in the dark with shiny particles around it, like it was some sort of super weapon.

When I looked further into this, I found out that many things havn't been explained by the game that have to do with usca, especially locations onyl that have only been mentioned in nodes (like the giant thrax symbol or where the shiny sword stood).

To me it looked like they purposely didn't explain those things to save them up for usca.

What I found really interesting is that all of it fit perfectly together to the old ramsgate. It was destroyed by the umbral escalations chain isles. Arkan knew that the umbral escalation chain isles would collide with old ramsgate, so he used the portal driver to flee to safety. Right before the attack not only behemoths, but also other creatures attacked old ramsgate, some even hunting in packs. Arkan used the portal driver, Moyra saved Hector and the city was mostly saved. But what happened to old ramsgate, what happened after the collision, what happened to the other creatures and what's about the loredumps we seemingly got for no reason?

I think it's for radiant escalation, just think about it: We had fauna in an escalation in form of a gruk gruk before and in a Q&A or a comment (I don't remember) that asked if we'd ever return to old ramsgate, that person got a "maybe" as a response. All of the unexplored rest of the usca chain isles cave system could be one part of the radiant escalation.

What I think is the biggest thing im hyped about is the rest of the setting. That's because we've never really seen a radient enviroment. What we do know thow is, that the valomyr came from above the clouds, and reza maybe as well.

What if we visit that heavenly place?

That would add the variety the enviromental designers want (behind the scenes torgadoro).

For the bossarena I can't think of a better place than old ramsgate. The spawn has a big round area with a big tower and other great fighting sections. This could maybe be the first arena, that is more than "big flat area with aethercrack in the middle" that is only striking by the visuals. The radiant keystone behemoth could maybe climb up the aethertower or go through the guarded gates (we've never seen the inside before).

About the keystone behemoth and the radient elemental varients themselves you can only do little more than speculate on what they are going to be.

But because valo uses a shield to shield itself and reza to trap the slayer/s I think that the keystone behemoth will trap himself with the slayer/s in the radient shield. What I also hope is a new use of the radient orb and beam attack (what about a lock on orb that follows you), as well as the keystone behemoth not to be an insect again.

Summary: Resca has big potentual because of all the things that fit perfectly together that seem like they want to introduce you to new amazing mechanics.

Thanks for reading!

I really like the idea of going back to Ramsgate and fighting behemoths in the ruins. An Esca could work there as there were multiple location areas there as well as numerous living areas beyond the explorable portions of the city.

I want to go back to ruins of old Ramsgate so bad!!!! It comes up all the time
