I know I m gonna get downvoted by the angry mob that cannot fathom a change but here is what I m gonna say.

In what way Omnicells limit build diversity?

First of all let me start with that omnicells won't ruin build diversity...because it never existed in the first place.

All we had was

  • half life flawless for trials
  • half life iceborn for farming
  • meme builds - yes the community, our community called every build outside of those 2 as meme builds

So we basically have 2 builds which consistent of the same cells. They played around with the same idea and makes balance as a whole bad.

If your weapon does not feel good without the attack speed buffs then it's not a cell issue but a core issue about the specific weapon. It's not a solution to give flat out buffs to everything but address that specific weapons massive weakness and basically the 3 weapons I know that feel extremely bad without some attack speed are Hammer, Axe and Repeaters. (Which all 3 getting changes soon first of all the repeater)

Omnicells take a unique spot - They basically an extra slot which you never had until now.

Lanterns got the biggest change but hear me out....90% of the people use pangar, 4% embermane, 4% drask and the other lanterns up to total 2% combined. They are made up statistics but we all know deep down it's true. Almost all lanterns were in fact useless. Up to this point we might actually start getting more lanterns now as they do not need to use 2 abilities but only 1.

Cascade and Conduit are still in subject for a change. Developers already said they just want to see how they are gonna be initial. They are not gonna stay weak if they are weak.

Movement cells are getting buffed and changed. Thats already confirmed and maybe it's the reason windfury will get added later on as it will come with those changes.

It might be a bad change or it might be a good one but 100% is not gonna ruin build diversity

Pretty much agree with everything. I still think they need to adjust the weapons base attack speed so that they feel good and delete the ability to modify it with cells. As for cascade i think it should go as a cell and become a skill for a "pet" like the drone. I'd really love to see the drone become a permanent pet which you can customize appearance wise and skill wise (like choosing between a support type that spawns buffs or a dps type like eidolons in escalations that damages behemoths)

For now, we're leaning towards turning the drone into its own Omnicell at some point.

Honestly the Past/Future paths would be a good base for making two more Omni-Cells so we have 6 choices instead of just 4.

The Future path is basically halfway to being a Cascade+ Omni-Cell already (since Molten/Cascade skittles look similar).

Don't worry we have more Omnicells planned for later in the season after the first 4, and it's something we want to keep releasing over time so there are tons of playstyle options.

Note damage isnt the only option the game needs since people have a time downing. New mechanics, behemoths, and areas that correspond with those would open up. You got poison from terra escalation why not have when a behemoth posions you it will give a effect that can help.

Yeah definitely. We have lots of ideas that aren’t just raw damage classes.

Many slayers are interested in minipets in the backlog; is it difficult to create minipets using eidolon and drone know-how?

Not hard necessarily, although it is more work. But if we introduce a pet system, we would want some interesting gameplay there so there are more pieces needed.

That's great news.

You commented that the developers are planning to add new lanterns, is that after?

New lanterns is something we’ve wanted to do for a while. For now the focus will likely be fleshing out Omnicells and cells so we have a really healthy meta, and then we can focus on other items.
