So it’s not giving me a pop up for Moyra even though I collected the lore node. I’m assuming it’s because I have the Chronovore quest and will need to deal with the awful wing farming. If so that’s lame.

Wils starts the quest to craft the Skullforge and Moyra starts the quest to craft Molten Edict (the smiths are having an old-fashioned smith-off!). Not sure if that might be related to what you're seeing?
Also - the existing Exotics all have a lore node that unlocks a quest on an NPC in Ramsgate. "The Crystal Method" uses a different, um, method: instead of unlocking a quest on an NPC who grants you the schematics, the node itself grants the schematics and so you should see them ready to craft when you go back to the smithy.
