After playing this game and being involved in the community since first day of open beta I feel like this game is lacking some sort of way to track performance.

We know that what's supposedly the best damage build might not be the best damage build for you personally since it might not fit your way of playing. We currently have no way to see what fits who at the moment.

People that know who they are, are just simply giving the answer of "it will lead to toxicity"

The mechanic can be implemented in alot of ways that don't lead to it, like only tracking friends and self damage, while you play with friends but not full group. It could also simply show at the end the charts when the hunt is over, so no one, that feels like they under performed, will have to deal will any toxicity, in the worst case scenario. I would even be glad if it would just track my damage at least. Would be a way to make dps averages in a way to know if I'm under performing compared to usual or not, you can't do that with simply hunt timers.

To finish this rant here is a quote from monster hunter damage mod page :

Monster Hunter World is not a hard game. It is a game about fighting monsters together. It is a game with a variety of playable weapons/builds and not all of them focus on dealing damage. It is more than reasonable for some weapon to deal much less damage than other weapons. You should not expect everyone to play the game seriously. The tool is for you to know the strength and weakness about yourself - It is not for you to blame others unless someone is not even casually playing the game. Please BE POLITE, thanks.

Thanks for listening to my TEDTalk

PS: When are we gonna be able to inspect people again? When I was starting out it helped me alot to see the gear of the people that carried me.

Edit : clarity

Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass it on to the team to read over.

As for inspecting other players, we are looking into options now. Keep an eye out for more details soon!
