I've been having quite a few issues, apparently since 1.3.0 was released. Things like keys not working (Esc, Q and V for combos and lantern), invisible behemoths, revives not working.

I've reported these to the Devs and raised them here several times, usually expressing frustration at not being able to play an otherwise great game.

So over the last few days I've been having a good email dialogue with the Support Team and it turns out a lot of the issues are on my side. I know I'm stretching it using a laptop that barely meets the game's minimum specs, but since it meets all my other IT needs and Dauntless is really the only game of this type I play, I can't bring myself to invest in a proper gaming machine. But I did decide to get a gaming mouse so that i could program in a few key/mouse combos. And that's where the problems started.

The Support guys said that other gaming mice (eg Razer Naga) have known issues and I'm using a HyperX Pulsefire FPS Pro. So I switched back to my basic USB mouse and hey presto, no more keyboard problems and no invisible behemoths. I've switched the mice around a few times to test this and there is good evidence.

I'm not sure why but I can guess that since gaming mice have programmable buttons, there's some sort of hardware interrupt that is taking precedence over the keyboard. Equally not sure why the invisibility problem occurs but again, it's probably a combination of the mouse drivers taking some sort of hardware interrupt priority over an only half decent GPU (graphics card).

There's still bugs in the game, but they are being worked on. I've had great support especially considering the low level of hardware I'm using.

But I'm back playing and slaying again.

TL;DR if you're playing on PC with a gaming mouse and/or keyboard, just check the spec against what's required. If you're having any weird issues it could be you, not the game. But ask the Support guys for advice.
