Hello, welcome to another rant. o/

Dear PHXL

Ive been playing dauntless since console release, and as ive been playing ive noticed that the most enjoyable, engaging, fun fights imo, are the ones where theres no modifiers, no annoying phases, just you and the behemoth, or if there are modifiers they add to the fight.

As i progressed and passed dire, then heroic, i noticed that these non modifier fights increased in difficulty but in the right way, as in without just becoming artificial difficulty.

(E.g heroic ragetail gnasher, heroic moonreaver shrike, heroic bloodfire embermane heroic frostback pangar and a few more.) So the skill and knowledge of the behemoth youve been building up meant that the fight was still enjoyable, just the behemoth does more damage has more health and a few new attacks. Its was still fun.

Unfortunately, i noticed the pepega fights became even worse to the point where youre forced to stunlock and kill it as quickly as possible if you want to live. A few notorious offenders are: heroic + dreadfrost boreus, heroic + valomyr, heroic + scorchstone hellion, heroic + koshai, and heroic + winterhorn skraev. Ill list my problems with these behemoths and you may notice a trend.

Boreus - #1 most pepega fight in this game, i think we all know about this bad boy. The fight itself is perfectly fine, what needs to go imo is the trash known as minions. They add nothing to the fight except annoyance.

Theyre either mortaring you from across the area, smacking you to interrupt your combo or just going full kamikaze and blowing up in youre face.

I would be fine if they did this if you were far away from boreus, but the worst part is they dont, theyre on you the whole fight. It gets to the point you get stunlocked from so many attacks that you just die, so youre forced to stunlock boreus and pray that you kill him before he summons his minions.

Valomyr - coming for the #1 spot with a vengeance, i dont think i need to explain this, if youve fought valomyr you know what im talking about, mad damage lasers, A LOT of mad damage bubbles, everything goes through his dome, stunlocks, death. His drones and bubbleblowers again add nothing to the fight except annoyance. Another stunlock or prepare for frustration.

Hellion - another would be perfectly fine fight, if it werent for the lava smeared across the whole area. Simply put it does a bit too much damage for the ground its covering. If its going to turn the area into a swimming pool i think its damage should be toned down a bit or keep the damage and reduce the area it covers.

I know you can bring molten, but thats sacrificing damage for survivability, even better is that in this case its not a sacrifice its a requirement to do ANY damage, the molten hellion drops from is back lasts such a small amount of time thats its just not worth breaking the scales, and if you dont bring molten, by the time you've done 1 combo on him Youre dead from lava. Again, another stunlock or prepare for frustration.

Koshai - another perfectly fine fight, the only problem is if i want to move and live, i have to become a gardener mid fight, You could always ignore koshais pods, but if you do he summons so many to the point they almost cover the whole area, then theres stamina shield which stops you from regenerating stamina just coz youre next to koshai. Yet another stunlock or prepare for frustration.

Winterhorn Skaraev - another perfectly fine fight, but, the ice totem, im sorry but this is a perfect example of a terrible way to increase difficulty. Skraev cant sit still, hes either throwing stuff at you or running and jumping around like a hyperactive toddler.

Now make his attacks do much more damage, (heroic/heroic +) 1-2 shot you. And now your blind, because the whiteout modifier does what it says and says what it does, because your screen become whiter than the snow youre stepping on, to the point where you can barely see in front of you, let alone skraev himself.

Now, i understand that if you break his horns, no whiteout, but without strikers, its easier said than done, as i said skraev is hyperactive, and if you dont break them quick enough he aethercharges and the shenanigans begin.

What makes it worse it that if you break them mid blizzard (which is usually what will happen if youre not using strikers) , the blizzard stays until the actual totem is destroyed. Tldr - old skaraev was much much better imo .Another stunlock or prepare for frustration.

As you can see all these modifiers, minions, thorns, lava, lazer drones and bubbles and ice totem add nothing to the fight but frustration. I dont think they should be removed, just reworked.

For example make thorns, lava ice totem and minions affect peeps who are to far from the behemoth. Valo bubbles and drone are fine, they just do to much damage for the stunlock fiesta that they are.

I believe if these fights are reworked it would make them so much more enjoyable :)

TlDR - behemoth modifiers r too pepega. Make them punsih peeps for being far from the behemoth instead of doing what they do now, which is the opposite

P.S - i am not struggling with these behemoths, i know them inside out and have beaten them all sub 3 less 100 dmg.

I also know that some on this list have been nerfed and peeps have beaten them when the game was much much MUCH more difficult so if youre one of them, hats off to you :). But, i just hate doing heroic + and then one of these clowns shows up becoz i know i have to deal with this stuff :/

Plz also take into account that for a console boi like me who lives nowhere close to the server, input lag, latency, fps drops and limited fov make these even worse.
