Now when I say leechers I'm not referring to people who are new to the game or unfamiliar with the behemoth, I don't mind people dying over and over again and even failing the hunt as long as there was an effort. What I'm referring to are those people who hit the behemoth for a bit and just AFK and die, reviving them does nothing either as they just stand in place AFK. Granted I haven't seen much of them, but my problem is just how easy it is to leech this hunt.

Unlike escalation leechers which is easy as just leaving the escalation if you don't want to carry them, for Chronovore you've already invested the 8 stones so either have fun farming another 8 stones or carrying a deadweight.

Doesn't help that they can also literally do 0 of the farming themselves and just keep on hopping instances with 0 stones until they find a group that has summoned Chronovore with the 8 stones to AFK and leech off of.

Now you could say why not just do it solo if you don't want to encounter them?

I do solo, to farm the stones and if I need to collect wing parts because it's easier, but if I wanted to play a singleplayer game I wouldn't be playing Dauntless. And it's not about me either, what about people who just can't solo Chronovore? Imagine having a leecher just making it harder for the whole party or even causing them to fail.

I think the main problem I have with Chronovore is its requirements of the 8 stones for summoning, for me it may take like 10 mins, but for some without the gear it may take like an hour all for it to go down the drain given how easy and effective it is to leech.

We consider this when designing these public events, and we've learned a lot over the years. Yes, players can technically leech this even, but it's not optimal and actually harder to do.

Players will always find a way, but we want to make sure it's not the winning strat.

I've also passed this thread on to the devs to peruse :)

Nice idea. Maybe the person putting the stones into the device gets something depending on how well the event went? Like did you slay the first behemoth only, or the first two, or all three?

I'll pass on the suggestion!
