Welcome to the Bugs Megathread where you can report bugs that you encountered while playing Dauntless. With every patch, comes with unforeseen bugs that can find their way onto our airships and into gameplay. To avoid flooding the subreddit with similar issues, we are collecting all bug reports in this megathread to consolidated incoming reports. This will be the place to post all bug reports until a new Bugs Megathread is made. This is to provide both the developers and the community a thread focused solely on bugs.

Prerequisites before reporting a bug

  1. Provide screenshots or a videos capturing the bug if possible. This would help the devs validate the bug report
  2. Give as much information as you can. This helps the devs recreate bugs on their end and discover if the issue is localized to specific
  3. Knowing the session ID in which a particular bug occurred in would help as well.

How to Format your Bug

  • In-Game Name:
  • Type of Bug: Behemoth, Weapon, Gear, Performance, Cosmetic / Visual, etc.
  • Expected behavior: What were you expecting to have happen?
  • Actual behavior: What did you see happen?
  • Screenshot/Clip: Provide a video or screenshot of this bug happening.
  • Reproduction Rate/Steps: Are you able to reproduce this bug? How often does this bug occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)
  • System Specs: Internet speed Operating System, CPU, GPU, Internet speed, or Console.
  • Geographic location: Provided this so we can track which server you are connected too.
  • Session ID: (Optional). For bugs that occurred in a particular session/s.

Every comment might not be addressed, but rest assured that the devs go through every single post. Before commenting, please aim to upvote comments that are the same or similar to an issue you have experienced in-case someone else has already posted.

we are aware! Thank you for reporting it :) This fix is part of ongoing visual improvements that we are making to the player character, including armour clipping and weapon placements.

Upon loading into Ramsgate, I find my XP again is only at 259/1000, which means the weekly challenge only accounted for one Behemoth kill out of the 7.

Bug 1

Behemoth bug: Stormclaw

Expected behaviour: Sometimes runs away to do a variety of ranged attacs, while other times getting close to do melee attacks.

Actual behaviour: After a certain amount of time (could be another trigger, never noticed the trigger if it is done by anything else than time) the stormclaw might start only running towards the edges of the arena to do attacks. He might even try to do melee attacks while all the way on the other side of the map, without hitting us of course. And when we get close, he runs away as soon as he can, unless we stagger him.

Reproduction rate: Not too often, but if I and my team start taking a bit of time, maybe around over a minute or two, he starts running away constantly.

Bug 2(Not really sure if this is a bug, but needs a bit of polish nonetheless)

Behemoth bug: Stormclaw

Expected behaviour: Stormclaw comes running towards me and attacks me with an interruptable attack.

Actual behaviour: Sometimes comes slowly walking towards me, then when right in front does a quick running animation as if he's been running and then does an interruptable attack. If intentional, the sudden running animation is way too quick to react to or even prepare for, since I do not know when the running starts. Sometimes it feels like the sudden running starts a bit away from me, while sometimes right in front of me. And then it only takes about 5-10 frames to hit me. (I play on 100+ fps monitor.

Edit: On a last note, need to say that links on Favro does not seem to work. Clicking, double clicking or even opening the link in another window just redirects me back to the save Dauntless Favro site.

Bug 1 -

Behemoth - Nayzaga

Behavior - Upon interrupting a Nayzaga, the part hitboxes for the front legs and head shrink significantly. They will still be there, but are significantly harder to fix than what the legs and head are visually. There was an improvement to this made before (when you couldn't hit the parts at all), but it is still prevalent. The head hitbox shrinks to about the snout area, with the leg hitboxes being reduced to the toes, and a very small portion of the knee.

Reproduction Rate: 100% of cases where nayzaga is interrupted.

Bug 2 -

Behemoth - Stormclaw

Behavior - Stormclaw's stagger damage calculation erroneously reduces the stagger damage that is intended to be dealt on all hitzones.

Example - Head is intended to have a 100% stagger damage hitzone. Grim onslaught with no meter charge (base damage 800) hitting the head -

Part Damage

(((Base + BaseFlat) * partDMG Mult) + partFlat) * Att.Type Mult * Crit * rawDMG Mult * Power Mult * Marksman * Acidic Penalty

(((800 + 0) * 1 ) + 0) * 1.5 * 1 * 1.35 * 1.50842857 * 1 * 1 = 2,443.65429

Actual Result: 2,490

(We'll blame it on my power calculation)

Stagger Damage

(((Base + BaseFlat) * Att.Type Mult * Crit * staggerDMG Mult * rawDMG Mult - staggerResist) + staggerFlat) * Power Mult * Hitzone

(((800 + 0) * 1 * 1 * 1.15 * 1.35 - (should be 0 on first hit) + 0) * 1.50842857 * 1.0 = 1,873.46828

Actual Result: 889

(less than half of what is expected, even with a potentially bad power calculation, doesn't add up)

Reproduction Rate: 100%

Bug 3 -

Behemoths - Stormclaw & Nayzaga

Behavior - Shock orb reflection - Hitting the orb an odd number of times will produce the intended behavior of being reflected at the behemoth or pylon. Hitting the orb an even number of times will cause the orb to travel straight from the direction of which it was last hit (causes an issue with chain blade light attacks, striker LHH combo)

Reproduction Rate: If the orb is hit an even number of times, 100% (can be difficult to do it intentionally)

Looking into it! Which links do you mean? The one in Shock Improvments or links that go to the Favro board itself?

Actual behavior: When Gliding, this is not the case. When NOT Gliding, it behaves correctly.

Reproduction Rate/Steps: 100% of the time since the first day Gliders were introduced.

Is this a bug that will be fixed or a feature that will stay?

It is a bug and we are getting it looked at :)

Would you mind being more specific on where and when you are experiencing lag? I want to be sure that we are investigating properly so we can get a fix out sooner and improve this experience.

Issue: The VFX eye particles on the Runner Voidhelm are placed incorrectly in this patch on the Type 2 model. It is either the scaling of the helmet has increased or the particle location changed not sure which. Unsure about the Type 1 model since I don't want to reset my look.
