Disclaimer: I'm an end-game player who have completed the Masteries, did all side-quests, got all Behemoth Dyes (previously called Heroic Dyes), crafted all gear and experienced all Escalations pre-Reforged (launched in December 2020) so I have no experience that of a new player coming into Dauntless where reforging, Slayer's Path and tutorials are presented to them. I'm just telling from my experiences, what I've heard from others and what I see on the screen.
Let's face it, there's a lot of outdated information and some lack information. (This is the TL;DR part if the rest is a too long read.)
As a first example, not too long ago I had a new player in my Party (who was lvl 20 with their weapon) and we were farming in HG and at one point I mentioned about the Exotics, which this player had no idea about. So I guided them to the two Exotics in Twilight Sanctuary and explained there are more to be found on other islands. I realized there's no information about the existence of hidden Lore Nodes on the later islands that unlock Exotic schematics.
Other information that are lacking is Behemoth Dyes and how to acquire them, unless that information is still a "secret" and new players have to explore that on their own of how to get from the certain Behemoths; though a starting point to tell about the existence of these Dyes and what types of Behemoths can drop them so people won't be grinding Hellions and get nothing because they weren't fighting the correct type of Hellion. It breaks the immersion and flow if people have to google that information (maybe end up with the Wiki) or ask on this subreddit.
Note: Please let me know if there is such information and I just couldn't see them because, again, I'm not new to this game and I've already acquired all Behemoth Dyes pre-Reforged.
Additional information that's lacking is the reward box after completed Island Event. A lot of people still don't understand that you're not required to interact with it to get the loot; it simply is the summary of what you've already got from each round, which is why it lingers there for a short amount of time. It really needs a Tutorial page of its own and the HUD text when it appears needs to change to indicate clearly that it's just a summary of already acquired loot.
Examples of outdated information:
-"Starting a Hunt" doesn't mention you can do private hunt, solo or with people in your Party. Now that should be obvious just seeing the private hunt button at the Hunt screen, but so is how to start a hunt.
-"Behemoth Tracking" still show the "?" icon and the requirement to throw a Flare to unmask the Behemoth on the radar, which was changed in one of the latest patch where no Behemoths are masked on the radar after landing on the island. But because this is a recent change I guess I'll go easy on this one. Still needs an update.
-"Mounting Behemoths" tutorial page is so old since we got our first Keystone Behemoth, Malkarion, that introduced to the mounting mechanic so the tutorial page was dedicated to him. But now when we have more Behemoths to mount, not only Keystones but the two Sporestruck Behemoths as well, this mounting tutorial needs an update. (I mean, it was cool to see this pop up the first time against Malkarion but now I wonder if it pops up the first time for newcomers when they're against Sporestruck Behemoths or other Esca Keystones that aren't Malkarion. If so, then the illustrated pages show the incorrect Behemoth. Imagine going against Torgadoro the first time and you see "and press [button prompt] to hook the Malkarion".)
-"Revives (Hunting Grounds" still mentions about the Danger meter rising when someone is knocked out, which was changed where Danger meter doesn't rise.
-"Interrupts" basically needs more information where it indicates that only a heavy attack (Triangle button on PS4) from non-lightweight weapons can interrupt an unstable attack. It should add that multiple other attacks can interrupt an unstable attack, example Legendary Weapons (ex. Urska), some special abilities (ex. Reaper's Dance primary attack and Axe throw), War Pike's charge attack, Iceborne Omnicell's tap ability and so on. I'm not sure about Chain Blades secondary attack if it can interrupt with Weighted Strikes so I can't comment on that, but if so, that also needs to be addressed in the Tutorial.
Note: Nevermind this, somehow I didn't double-check the Moves List under Basic Moves category where it is actually stated of what can interrupt. So this is all good! :)
-"Equipping Gear" just needs to have updated illustration on the second image as it uses the old equipment UI (tbh I miss seeing it).
-"Reforged" needs to add the information about the option to converting 200 Aethersparks to gain an Aetherheart without having to reforge your weapon.
-"Status Effects" in the Combat Overview/General Info screen needs to be revisited and add in Shellshocked and Poison status.
-"Danger Meter" in the Combat Overview/General Info screen also needs to have updated info when it comes to the exception of Hunting Grounds.
-Loading screen text, like the one about "Nobody agrees Hector is his real name" or something even though the Lore page of the turtle literally confirms his name is Hector.
There might be other examples out there but these are the ones I'm seeing and experienced.
Another good improvement would be add more features to the Training Grounds where people could learn how to dodge and interrupt or parry. It'd also be a good place for veterans to practice with parrying with Sword Special (if they're not used to Sword) or practice with Discipline Omnicell without caring about builds, or practice with whatever else new Omnicell and combat technique we get.
Again, I ask the developers to update the information and, if get enough extra time, Training Grounds. It may not be a priority, but preferably as soon as you're able because this is needed for newcomers who may be new to the genre or just generally have no clue about certain information. Updated and clear information should be an important part of this game.
