Okay. This may be a bit crazy and it may not even work, but just hear me out.

Once they're done with escalations, they can make new Behemoths by building upon the Escalation variants with new armor and weapons. The reason I'm saying that they can rework the Escalation variants into new Behemoths is because the variants are just different enough from their base counterparts to pull this off. They already have new attacks, and in some cases new looks (like the Sporestruck variants). Some of the earlier variants like Blaze and Umbral (and maybe shock if/when they ever revisit shock Escalation) would need some retooling in the looks department.

If they make a Neutral Escalation with neutral variants (which isn't very likely), make variants for Sesca, add one more variant for Tesca, and have around 3 variants per Escalation, we could be easily looking at at least 17 new Behemoths (not including Escalation bosses) with their own armor and weapon sets, including new future weapons.

But that's not all. With the new leveling system, they could make it so that Dire Behemoths have their own gear. Hell, they could even do to the Dire Behemoths what they could do to the variants. They could even have a lore explanation for it, with the normal Behemoths undergoing a much more dramatic metamorphosis after consuming enough Aether. Unlike the Dire Variants, these evolutions yet could be DRASTICALLY different from their previous incarnations, at least in terms of appearance. For example, Embermane can evolve into Bloodwing, a flying Wyvern like Behemoth. Moonreaver can be an evolution of the Shrike, which is much better adapted for flight. Stormclaw can evolve into Tempest, an eastern dragon like Behemoth that's basically Malkarion's little brother (Let's be honest. That's basically Tempestborne Stormclaw in a nutshell.)

Now, I understand that this would still be a MONUMENTAL undertaking, even when compared to the likes of reforged. Adding gear, new models, different sound effects, all that would be extremely time consuming. So how would they even go about something like this?

Logically speaking, they wouldn't work on it all at once. They could focus on one set of variants at a time, spanning several updates. They could do it in order of release, like first they do Blaze (Or Shock if they make Shock variants) and finish it off with Radiant (or Neutral if they ever do Neutral Escalation), or even hold a public vote on which element to do next.

Now, I'm not expecting them to actually do all of this. They could just start making new Behemoths once they're done with escalation's without even touching the variants. Hell, they could just make a Radiant Behemoth and an Umbral Behemoth for normal difficulty, or add new "exotic" Behemoths on the same level as Shrowd and Rezakiri to bring exotic gear back into the fold. They don't have to do something even remotely on the same scale as what I just suggested.

But you get what I'm trying to say, right? The Escalation variants, and even the regular Dire variants, can serve as the framework for new Behemoths in the future. All they need to do is build upon that framework.

But what do you guys think? Do you think it's a good idea, or are there a million and one reasons why this likely won't happen? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for the feedback! We're still discussing the next steps after we're done with Escalations, but you can always expect new Behemoths and new armour sets.

We're also exploring armour for variants through rumours and such.

Stay tuned :D
