Since Sky Fishing is on the horizon it got me thinking about a few things that might be fun to see and do in it. So I figured I'd toss some ideas out there and see if anyone would bite.

Just to get the "bad" stuff out of the way and touch upon things I'd personally prefer to not see, I hope they don't try to make it a competitive mode like the recent egg hunt where players have to engage in any timed activities. I could see it being fun to have guild records of catching the biggest/heaviest sky fish, but otherwise, I really hope they make it a more casual, sedate mode where people can play for as long as they like without any major limitations outside of technical necessities.
Absolute worst case scenario, maaaaaaybe we'd need a fishing pass (that can ONLY be bought with in-game currency) that will grant us a set amount of time, like up to 30 minutes or an hour or something per pass to see how well we can do. But anything worse than that and I reckon people will be pissed.

But as for stuff I'l like to see, the first thing that springs to mind is fishing mastery. So, maybe a mastery for each sky fish (catching a certain amount or size), or for crafting rods and having certain catching criteria for levelling them up. Gaining mastery could unlock fishing bonuses like faster reel time/strength, or fishing specific titles like Rod King or Master Baiter. If nothing else, it would add more incentives rather than just being a novelty to dip into a couple times then ignore thereafter.

I think the mode could also be a great place for finally having a "part sink" where we can now use up all those excess Behemoth parts longtime players have been accumulating with zero use. I'm picturing parts being used both to craft rods (if not just purely for aesthetics, then maybe for actually having different uses/bonuses or being needed to attract specific sky fish, like if they'll be elemental as well?), but more importantly, I think parts would be a perfect resource to use as bait to lure in specific types. Maybe with higher rarity parts being needed to make the biggest and most rare sky fish appear.

PETS! I swear if they don't include our new pets by our side as we fish then there's gonna be a f*cking riot. Would be awesome to have them laying asleep next to us while we were patiently waiting for a bite, then, the moment we start reeling something in, they need to get riled up and excited, do a little hop or something when we bag a catch, before going back to sleep again.

As for location, while I imagine there'll probably be a separate island that we'll fly off to for it, I'd love it if it was a completely new area in the renovated Ramsgate. Have all the useful hunt stuff at the front, a tavern off the the side or back alley (I wonder will a Behemoth Top Trumps style card game ever be a thing we'll be able to play together?), then have a path at the very back that loads into a new fishing area. I can imagine a humped wooden bridge crossing over a small glowing aether pool then leading to a ledge covered in wooden decking, having crickets chirp by day and fireflies floating around at night, then we sit on the edge and dangle our legs over the side while tossing out our rods and waiting for sky fish to drift by.

Oh, and side note on the renovation. You think they'll try to tie the new location in with the lore, and have current Ramsgate be destroyed by an Umbral storm, then reestablish a new base in a whole new area? I reckon that would be a cool way to approach it rather than having the entire place magically change with an update and be told some workers were busy giving the place a facelift while we were gone.

What are your hopes for a new fishing mode. Anything you'd really love to see in it?
