@thehappybomb I'm glad you enjoy 1.02 exp! It was probably a coincidence coupled with broken scheduler at that time (it was first 1.02 exp if I'm not mistaken). Adrenaline is resetting shock damage for now.

Out of curiosity, currently, armor is directly reducing dmg dealt by projectile to health, which is common approach. Different projectiles deals different dmg to armors already ofc, but what if armor has to be ruined first to allow dmg from projectiles to be applied?

@wartzilla There are already 3 tiers of armors.

@dominikd1 Armors are collected even if they protect partially.

@Spaggie 'Unsure' option is there for you then. Reducing less dmg proportionally to armor condition is considered as well, but that still lives in land of 'No, any hit shoudl matter'.

@MNagant That would be the best approach, however it will be absolute nightmare to balance and I can already see all that 'bugs' tickets on feedback tracker.

@DudeIRage Bullet spongey is relative - ballistic helmet saves you from 1 headshot when hit from full power cartridge in trade of unconsciousness. Anyways balance is not set in stone and it can be shifted back and forth until sweet spot is found. Especially when such changes are introduced.

@TheOnlyGanit @Spaggie Shock damage is applied (reduced by armor) and there are no plans to change that.

@TopeREC Currently ballistic helmet (which is highest tier) saves you from 1 headshot when hit from full power cartridge (.308win or 7.62x54mmR) in trade of unconsciousness.

@M1NDR They already do more damage to armor and character. Also currently one .308 to plate carrier is currently at the edge of unconsciousness even when it didn't force you into it.

@TopeREC If you encountered such behavior (shot to ballistic helmet with .308/7.62x54 not leading to uncon) pls send vids/logs if you have any, thx.

@N0tABananaa @M1NDR My mistake, indeed, 26 points is passed to shock thru plate carrier, thus 3 consecutive shots leads to uncon (as 25 is threshold for uncon). I'll look at it.

@N0tABananaa @TopeREC Yes I'm, head hit zone is 3x more sensitive to shock damage (I was wrong about regarding shock passed thru plate carrier, see my other post).

@DanielVavra Yes, similarly we have health, blood & shock which are affected by ballistics and melee dmg. I'm not fan of such arcadey dmg reduction (currently virtue of necessity), especially when it limits possibilities and rewards of picking right tool for right job on both sides.

DayZ 1.03 EXP up. Introducing long awaited firearms buttstocks/bayonets melee, inventory item rotation & F hold interactions! Also new car, NVG for helmet/strap, bags attachments, 4digit lock, walk toggle, recoil kickbacks and tracers. VSS is back & ammo dmg is tweaked. Have fun!
