Hello guys,

So I have been thinkering with launcher options on steam to try to increase the FPS ingame, this is something I used to do when playin ARK with a "slightly" worse setup, and actually helped me a ton back in the day.

These options helped me ever so slightly since I run the game between 80-130 fps most of the times, besides the times it starts stuttering for a couple of seconds until it finds its inner peace again lol. Maybe it helps some of you guys more than me, and if so please leave some feedback along with the hardware you are running for comparison purposes.

[HOW TO]:

- Open steam - go to library - right click dead mather - open properties - under GENERAL click on "Set launch options ... - paste the following options you can find below all in one line (example):-option1 -option2=value -option3 -option4=value

[Options breakdown]

-high : sets the process afinity to high on windows, giving the process more priority and therefor being handled by the cpu more often.

-cpuCount=value : establishes the amount of physical cores available for the process.

When in doubt how many core are available in your system follow this steps: open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) - under the performance tab search for "Cores" on the bottom right side, there will be a value indicating how many your system has. Mine has 8 (i7 9700K)

-maxThreads=value : establishes the amount of threads available for the process.

When in doubt how many core are available in your system follow this steps: open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) - under the performance tab search for "Logical processors" on the bottom right side, there will be a value indicating how many your system has. Mine has 8 (i7 9700K), a 9900k would have 16 for example.

-maxMem=value : establishes the amount of RAM available for the process. I really recommend leaving some memory free for the system to run on in case you run into memory leaking in game. here are some values I would recommend according to your systems memory (RAM):

4GB = 3000

8GB = 7000

16GB = 14000

32GB = 30000

64GB = 62000

and so on......

-useallavailablecores : pretty much self explanatory, this options tries that the process use the available amount of cores at its disposal

[Extra options]

-malloc=system -> this option is still undergoing testing on my end, as the game delivers very inconsistent FPS values, I still cant decide if it lowers or boots the FPS values on the long run. This option was known to decrease performance in ARMA 3 back in the day, so please feel free to test it yourself and post results.

[Example]

-high -cpuCount=8 -maxThreads=8 -maxMem=30000 -useallavailablecores

this is the launch options im runnin on my system, 9700K with 32GB of Ram, as a reference.

Enjoy and please post results together with your hardware and AVG FPS before and After as well as Graphic settings if possible.

Please ignore my grammatical errors as English is not my mother language. If in doubt on any of the steps or options, just comment blow and I will assist you as good as I can, including through discord if you wish so.

Have fun !
