2380s | address something that's probably going |
2381s | to get talked about quite a bit in in |
2382s | the chats across different the different |
2385s | channels uh we know since the last uh |
2387s | the last update there's been a rubber |
2388s | bending issue that's been plaguing the |
2390s | game the team has been working extremely |
2391s | hard at it over the last few few weeks |
2394s | we have a tentative fix that the team |
2396s | has been working on that we're hoping to |
2398s | test on the ptb later today if |
2400s | everything is successful with that we |
2402s | will be deploying that fix to live and |
2403s | hopefully it should improve the |
2405s | situation but it's still to be confirmed |
2407s | so keep up uh keep keep an eye on our |

2414s | a little bit the coming year for dead by |
2416s | daylight is going to be huge and that's |
2418s | saying something coming off of our |
2419s | biggest year to date since the last |
2422s | anniversary we have released amazing |

2428s | Alan Wake and a personal favorite of |
2430s | mine Nick Cage such an amazing addition |
2433s | to the game on top of that we've also |
2435s | released our most popular original |
2437s | chapter to date all things Wicked of |
2439s | course and we can't forget we did the |
2441s | Halloween event which was bigger and |
2442s | better than ever with the introduction |
2443s | of the Void this year we introduced the |
2446s | concept of modifiers in dead by daylight |
2448s | starting in February uh lights out we |
2450s | followed it with my little Oni and soon |
2452s | later this week we'll introduce chaos |
2454s | Shuffle the third one we took a few |
2456s | steps towards improving the player |
2458s | experience uh between anti-ace Camp |
2460s | blood web ux improvements uh the killer |
2463s | fov slider Survivor DC Bots and even the |
2467s | search bar uh so there's a lot there uh |
2470s | and finally we've taken a few big steps |
2472s | towards increasing our transparency our |
2474s | communication with regular live streams |
2476s | on each of our content releases thus far |
2480s | and off talking about the past let's |
2481s | dive into the future and what's really |
2483s | coming up for this year we're happy to |
2485s | announce today that we have six new |
2487s | chapters currently in the works and two |
2490s | of those chapters will be Survivor only |
2492s | chapters for this year on top of that |
2494s | we'll have the usual four new Toms that |
2496s | are going to be coming out spread |
2498s | throughout the year as we've talked a |
2500s | little bit and teased even earlier last |
2502s | week the first chapter that's going to |
2503s | be coming out is Dungeons and Dragons |
2506s | and we're actually going to Deep dive |
2507s | that in a soon to come segment right uh |
2510s | shortly after this uh this one and it |
2512s | really promises to bring great gameplay |
2515s | and new characters to the world of dead |
2516s | by daylight of course we're going to |
2518s | follow that with a licensed Survivor a |
2520s | character who truly embodies the meaning |
2522s | of that word after that an iconic killer |
2524s | survivor duel will be coming into the |
2526s | fog and if you stick around to the end |

2532s | finish off 2024 with an original killer |

2560s | focusing on but we're really adjusting |

2634s | our fourth pillar events Evolution |
2637s | events have always been a fundamental |
2639s | part of the game especially the seasonal |
2641s | events and this is something we're going |
2642s | to keep pushing forward over the coming |
2644s | year uh with with this year we're |
2646s | starting to to do a bit of a split where |
2649s | 're we're going to have our events |
2650s | happening on a separate matchmaking |
2652s | queue which essentially means that at |
2654s | any time there's an event ongoing you |
2655s | can decide to still play normal dead by |
2657s | deight if that's what you're looking for |
2658s | but you can also go into the event |
2660s | specific queue and play some of that |
2662s | gamep play this is really going to allow |
2664s | us to push gameplay further and further |
2666s | away from the typical that by daylight |
2668s | normally works and it's going to be a |
2670s | very interesting way for us to approach |
2671s | events in a different way on top of that |
2674s | we can also expect more modifiers to |
2677s | make it in the game whether it's the one |
2679s | we've talked about just before that are |
2681s | going to be re Revisited throughout the |
2682s | year or interest uh in introducing new |
2685s | modifiers that are either tweaks on |
2688s | something or something completely |
2689s | different but modifiers is just a little |
2691s | sliver of what we're planning to do this |
2693s | year and I think we have something a |
2694s | little bigger that might be coming up |
2696s | absolutely and that's why I'm so happy |
2698s | to be here and let you guys know that |
2700s | for the first time ever this summer dead |
2702s | by daylight will have a new mode not |
2704s | modifier but a mode coming to you all |
2708s | we've been listening and hearing your |
2710s | feedback and I'm really happy to let you |
2712s | know that this summer replacing |
2713s | scorching barbecue will be the first |
2715s | ever time limited 2 V8 mode in dead by |
2718s | daylight we'll be doing a full breakdown |
2720s | of what this mode is when we get closer |
2721s | to the release but for now I'm going to |

2728s | talk a little bit more about this and |
2729s | here's a snippet of what's to come |

2777s | to be really fun to sort of let the |
2778s | community in on some of our plans for |
2780s | this upcoming 2 V8 introduction |
2782s | absolutely thanks Justin so yeah 2 V8 is |
2786s | coming to dbd this is a new game mode |
2789s | which is really cool other gameplay |
2791s | events that we've done before so lights |
2793s | out my little Oni soon chaos Shuffle |
2796s | these are what we're calling modifiers |
2798s | and modifiers basically take a dbd match |
2801s | change a few things but ultimately |
2804s | you're still playing DVD with this new |
2806s | game mode 2v eight we're fundamentally |
2809s | changing the way that you play dead by |
2811s | daylight in this particular case there's |
2814s | two killers eight survivors and a bunch |
2816s | of new changes that we're going to get |
2818s | into very |
2820s | shortly the focus with 28 we really |
2823s | wanted to hone in on what's exciting and |
2826s | fun and chaotic with dbd and we're |
2829s | leaning more into a party mode kind of |
2832s | vibe rather than something that's super |
2835s | competitive it's also worth mentioning |
2837s | that the way that we're building this |
2839s | it's an iterative process right and this |
2842s | is just the first iteration so we'll be |
2844s | looking to add more content more |
2846s | gameplay in the future |
2847s | based on community |
2849s | feedback absolutely and I'm super |
2851s | excited to see what everybody says about |
2853s | this mode when it comes out so first |
2855s | let's break down a few of the key |
2856s | changes that we know are going to be |
2858s | coming for 2v this summer I mean of |
2860s | course there's still generators there's |
2861s | still exit gates there's just more of |
2863s | them uh We've made five Maps bigger to |
2865s | accommodate all of the action all of the |
2867s | chaos uh and we're also doing way with |
2870s | perks in this mode instead introducing a |
2872s | new sort of 2v eight exclusive system |
2875s | called classes for survivors that's |
2877s | right right yeah so when it comes to |
2878s | survivors basically once you've chosen |
2881s | your character you can select and equip |
2883s | a player class and this class is |
2886s | effectively your power for the match and |
2888s | it helps players identify what your role |
2890s | is within the |
2891s | team so instead of mixing and matching |
2894s | perks instead we really wanted to focus |
2897s | on a particular play style for this and |
2901s | uh whether it's generator repair healing |
2904s | uh looping speed that kind of thing |
2906s | that's what we're really going for with |
2908s | these classes of course and there's also |
2909s | just cowering in the corner which is my |
2911s | own preferred play style for Survivor uh |
2914s | which is great uh and it'll work a |
2915s | little differently for Killers uh you'll |
2917s | be able to choose from one of the five |
2919s | original Killers each with their own |
2921s | specific gameplay Killers obviously have |
2923s | power so they don't have classes in this |
2925s | mode but we will be introducing a new |
2927s | mechanic which is a team power for |
2929s | example if you are The Wraith when you |
2932s | cloak yourself if your teammate is |
2933s | within a certain radius of you uh they |
2936s | will also get the undetected status |
2937s | effect allowing you to coordinate a sort |
2939s | of Team stealth attack should make for |
2941s | some entertainment uh the reason that |
2943s | we're focusing on the five original |
2944s | Killers is just to make sure that this |
2946s | is as accessible as possible they're all |
2948s | free everybody can play them everybody |
2950s | can have fun we want you to enjoy the |
2952s | content and give us your feedback and in |
2954s | my opinion the best part of this whole |
2955s | mode is the two it's the the first time |
2959s | ever that success and failure as a |
2960s | killer does not rely solely on your |
2962s | shoulders you have a teammate to sort of |
2964s | benefit from learn from or even you know |
2967s | no blame uh when things go poorly so |
2969s | working together is just going to make |
2971s | the match so much more fun so much more |
2972s | efficient absolutely uh lastly it's |
2975s | worth mentioning that uh for this mod we |
2978s | really wanted to keep the action pace |
2979s | and the momentum flowing uh during our |
2983s | play test uh we found that the process |
2985s | of Downing a Survivor picking them up |
2987s | carrying them to the hook it really |
2989s | started to slow things down for this |
2991s | mode in particular so we're doing away |
2993s | with hooks as well there's no hooks in |
2995s | 28 instead once a killer Downs a |
2998s | Survivor they'll be able to send them to |
3000s | a cage this works very similar to |
3002s | Pyramid Head it will teleport the |
3004s | Survivor to another part of the map away |
3006s | from the killers and of course this |
3008s | still counts as hook States so once |
3011s | you've been hooked three times you'll be |
3013s | out of the |
3014s | match and as Justin said before there |
3017s | will be five original Killers coming to |
3019s | this iteration of this game mode but we |
3022s | will be looking to add more as we |
3024s | iterate on it and add more to it uh of |
3027s | course we'll also be uh improving the |
3029s | game as it goes along so content uh will |
3032s | be coming in as well as updates to |
3035s | classes and gameplay awesome thank you |

3124s | sudden you need to actually get the mode |
3126s | where we want it but we're using the |
3128s | word mode which means a lot so pay |
3130s | attention uh and speaking of paying |
3132s | attention uh the website that's that's a |
3135s | transition that doesn't make any sense |
3137s | but the website for what the fog uh has |
3139s | been overwhelmed by demand uh as as |
3142s | predicted people love that cute little |
3144s | game uh so we're working on it stay |
3146s | tuned don't worry we have lots and lots |
3148s | of keys uh for it so uh just as soon as |
3152s | we're able to tell you it's back up |

3189s | in this pack um you're going to get nine |

3193s | portrait of murder roots of dread uh |
3196s | forg in the fog and tools of torment and |
3198s | along with these this pack is going to |
3200s | be all the additional outfits and DLC |
3202s | exclusive items um but of course if you |
3204s | don't want to get the pack they will be |
3206s | individ |
3207s | marked down in the in-game store so you |
3209s | can get them there yes so that endless |
3211s | hunt pack is actually available right |

3256s | team he works with the dev team on |
3258s | creating all sorts of cool quality of |
3260s | life updates gameplay updates and he's |
3262s | here to tell you about some good ones |

3268s | better after this segment when we hear |
3269s | what you get to say um so I already know |
3272s | what you've got to say but I think |
3274s | people are going to be excited to hear |
3275s | about it the upcoming challenge system |
3278s | this isn't something we've told people |
3279s | about why don't you tell them about it |
3280s | right now how is it going to benefit our |
3282s | players so we really wanted to deliver |
3284s | new in-game challenges to players and |
3286s | new ways for them to be constantly |
3288s | rewarded outside of just TOs and |
3290s | archives so we're going to be |
3291s | introducing a new challenge system which |
3294s | is a system of challenges hence the name |
3297s | that players are going to be able to |
3298s | complete completely passively that means |
3301s | that players don't need to actively |
3302s | select the Challenge that they want to |
3303s | complete and they can complete multiple |
3305s | of them at the same time initially we're |
3308s | going to start with daily challenges |
3310s | weekly challenges and event challenges |
3313s | and later on we want to expand those |
3314s | into other parts of the game as well we |
3317s | think that this is going to be a great |
3318s | way for players to be constantly |
3319s | rewarded just for logging in and playing |
3321s | DVD and it's going to be an amazing |
3323s | experience for everybody I think that's |
3324s | a really great addition I think people |
3326s | in the community you're going to really |
3327s | appreciate just being rewarded for doing |
3329s | what they already do uh not having to go |
3331s | out and seek it but just it's it's |
3333s | happening in the background at all times |
3334s | that's really great um so another great |
3337s | thing that we're adding actually is how |
3340s | we talk to our players um that's the |
3343s | main job of my team is talking and |
3344s | listening to our players uh but we do it |
3346s | out in the world we do it on social |
3348s | media we do it on Tik Tok and Twitter |
3349s | and other places uh but ingame is |
3352s | obviously the best place to talk to |
3353s | people and you've got some updates there |
3355s | yeah we're here to make the player lives |
3357s | easier and your life easier as well so |
3359s | we're going to be introducing a new |
3360s | inbox base system that will help connect |
3362s | players with the news that you have to |
3364s | announce including patch notes |
3366s | announcements rewards and a lot more |
3369s | that way players will see less popups |
3371s | when they launched into the game and |
3373s | they'll be able to get into their games |
3374s | quicker and overall the players will be |
3378s | able to stay connected with the world of |
3379s | DVD and the news that you have to |
3380s | announce yeah and it gives us new tools |
3382s | right like being able to tell people the |
3384s | the patch notes in detail is something |
3385s | we couldn't do before and now we can so |
3388s | again you don't have to go find it on |
3389s | the web you'll be able to get it in the |
3390s | game uh popups not popups but |
3393s | notifications for rewards as well is |
3395s | another great Improvement so really good |
3397s | work there by the team uh but we're not |
3400s | done uh actually this is something |
3401s | people are familiar with the finisher |
3403s | Mory system we tested it out a while |
3405s | back in ptb got a ton of great feedback |
3407s | from the community uh the team took that |
3409s | feedback went back to the shop to Tinker |
3411s | with it and we've got the final version |
3413s | to tell people about now right I love |
3415s | finishing Mor's I think they're a really |
3417s | amazing showcase for how deadly and |
3419s | gruesome AR Killers can be but we also |
3421s | acknowledge that there was some room for |
3422s | improvement from the survivors |
3423s | perspective so like you said we've taken |
3425s | the feedback we've reiterated on it and |
3427s | tried to land on what was the best |
3429s | player experience so in a coming update |
3432s | finisher moris are going to become a |
3434s | baseline feature for all killers in the |
3435s | game that means that killers are going |
3437s | to have access to the killer finisher |
3439s | moris by default but they're only going |
3441s | to be able to use them on the last |
3443s | remaining Survivor that way if the |
3446s | Killer is able to S successfully pull it |
3448s | off we get an exciting conclusion to the |
3450s | match and the survivors can feel that |
3452s | the game's ended in a fair way and the |
3454s | moveth went and this match went smoothly |
3456s | and it was a really exciting experience |
3458s | for |
3459s | everybody more offerings are also going |
3461s | to be updated to instead give bonus |
3463s | blood points so that it'll be a more |
3466s | rewarding experience for Killers if |
3467s | they're able to pull it off so the |
3468s | Killer is going to want to land that at |
3470s | the end it happens at the end like you |
3472s | said so we're not killing the flow of |
3473s | the match I think it's a really great |
3475s | balance from where we started and the |
3477s | feedback that we got so kudos to you and |
3479s | the team and that's all we've got from |

3799s | earlier I have a inner child in me |
3803s | that's thrilled right now I've been |
3805s | playing Dungeons and Dragons since I'm |
3806s | what 10 years old and it's an absolute |
3809s | dream come true so thank you so much for |
3811s | being a part of that of course yeah my |
3813s | pleasure I I you know 10-year-old Sean |
3816s | wakes up every day realizing that he |
3818s | works at wizard of the coast same job so |
3820s | we're we're super aligned on that so |
3823s | dungeons dragons is probably one of the |
3826s | the biggest gateways that people have |
3829s | had to how to craft stories how to |
3831s | design games how to create experiences |
3833s | for other people uh We've seen it of |
3837s | course within the dev team there's so |
3838s | many people who've got their first taste |
3840s | of designing games through Dungeons and |
3842s | Dragons have you seen this to be true |
3845s | with uh other developers that you worked |
3847s | with oh absolutely yeah I would say it's |
3850s | the the easiest thing about my job is I |
3852s | never have to teach people what DND is |
3854s | or what the brand is about because when |
3856s | I'm working with a developer there's I |
3858s | guarantee you the person that I'm |
3859s | talking to is played and everybody on |
3861s | their team is played or at the very |
3862s | least is like very aware of of what the |
3864s | game is and what it entails it makes it |
3865s | makes my job very very easy um you know |
3868s | I I I always joke around D andd is kind |
3870s | of this like the building block or like |
3872s | the connective tissue between game |
3873s | designers you can be at a gaming |
3876s | convention and you're talking to other |
3877s | developers and if you have nothing else |
3878s | in common just start talking about D and |
3880s | yeah it's true it's kind of a Common |
3882s | Language there's so many common |
3883s | references there uh for me personally |
3887s | like I said it's a dream come true I |
3888s | still play Dungeons and Dragons every |
3891s | week with my group of friends I'm the |
3892s | forever DM in that group and uh I know |
3896s | that there are a couple of other people |
3898s | on my team who were absolutely thrilled |
3900s | to be a part of this what made it made |
3903s | sense for Wizard of the coast to enter |
3905s | into this |
3907s | collaboration uh that's a great question |
3910s | uh I think that exploring horror is |
3912s | always something that's really really |
3914s | interested us um Dungeons and Dragons |
3917s | has dipped its toes in in in horror |
3919s | before you know we've got modules like |
3921s | curse of strad we've got um a lot of um |
3924s | different horror elements we' together |
3926s | in some of our monsters um obviously |
3928s | characters like VNA have have been super |
3931s | horror driven so when the idea popped up |
3933s | on our radar hey you know uh what do we |
3936s | think about working together with |
3937s | behavior on a dead by daylight module um |
3940s | it like the light turned on instantly I |
3943s | don't think anybody was qu there were no |
3945s | question marks it was mostly just |
3946s | exclamation points it's like how how do |
3948s | we do this the best right like let's |
3949s | find the coolest character let's find |
3951s | the coolest setting let's let's really |
3953s | make this a true sort of celebration of |
3956s | D and D inside of dead by daylight and |
3958s | make it a way that feels super native to |
3960s | that game yeah and and you mentioned |
3962s | horror I mean I know a lot of people |
3964s | will probably think that their first |
3966s | thought when they think of Dungeons and |
3967s | Dragons is not necessarily horror but |
3970s | there is quite a lot of potential for |
3972s | Horror in there I mean it is a very |
3974s | flexible medium to tell stories and |
3976s | horror stories are some of the stories |
3978s | that will provoke the most intense |
3981s | emotions and reactions in players so for |
3983s | us it it it made sense yes yeah I'm I'm |
3987s | I'm also slightly in the forever dungeon |
3989s | master box you are uh I try to inject a |
3992s | little bit of horror into all the |
3993s | campaigns that I run I think that it's |
3995s | just a great tool to use to tell stories |
3997s | if your players never get scared right |
3999s | there's you're probably doing something |
4000s | a little bit wrong um and like you |
4003s | mentioned Dungeons and Dragons is just a |
4004s | really flexible system for telling |
4006s | stories at the end of the day the |
4008s | players and the dungeon Masters you're |
4009s | not fighting each other you're just |
4011s | there telling a collaborative story |
4012s | about what happens and horror is just a |
4014s | great tool to include in that box of |
4016s | Storytelling um it's yeah it's it's D |
4019s | and D hasn't always been hey we are a |
4021s | horror game but the tools are there if |
4024s | you want to do it and I think some of |
4025s | the best storytellers out there |
4026s | definitely Implement those tools yeah |
4029s | yeah there are many examples out there |
4031s | now uh why vcna I mean we've seen it in |
4034s | the trailer he is an absolutely |
4036s | terrifying presence I think that whether |
4038s | you're a Survivor or a killer and you |
4040s | play with VNA in that game it's going to |
4043s | be a really really intense experience so |
4046s | tell me a little bit why VNA and why it |
4048s | makes |
4049s | sense uh for me the main reason that |
4053s | vcna was very clearly like on the top of |
4055s | the podium the entire time we were |
4056s | discussing potential Killers is that |
4058s | vcna has always had this horror movie |
4063s | monster vibe to him I mean as a lich |
4066s | he's always had the ability to you can |
4067s | even kill him and he just pops back up |
4068s | and will'll come back it might not be |

4076s | inevitability to him right you you know |
4078s | it's and the thing about D and D is very |
4081s | quickly in a D and D setting your party |
4083s | becomes a group of powerful adventurers |
4085s | right you're you're defeating all these |
4087s | other monsters that you know like |
4089s | dragons and stuff and then VNA shows up |
4090s | and you're like oh we need to run away |
4092s | vus here like he's he's such a scary |
4095s | inevitable threat in the universe that |
4097s | even his earliest appearances were just |
4099s | items with his name on them and |
4100s | everybody was wondering oh who's who's |
4102s | this guy VNA that's got this eye and |
4104s | this and this hand and um it was just |
4106s | like Whispers of this ancient evil that |
4108s | was so powerful you couldn't even print |
4110s | a stat block for him because he was just |
4112s | that strong yeah it's the terrifying |
4114s | presence that few talk about but if |
4116s | you've heard about him it's probably |
4118s | already too late it's uh it's true that |
4120s | it's got that absolute flavor and he is |
4124s | he has been part of the Dungeons and |
4125s | Dragons Universe for almost 50 years now |
4128s | right he was there at the very very |
4129s | beginning like you said as Whispers as |
4132s | just a note in there but he does have a |
4134s | stat block and and reading it is is it's |
4137s | not ridiculous but it's it's so much |
4141s | power in those pages like you understand |
4143s | that he is like you said inevitable but |
4146s | also he is able to scare a party of |
4150s | level 15 adventurers who are technically |
4153s | almost Unstoppable by that point right |
4156s | right yeah it's it's kind of fun it's it |
4159s | it's it's always like I've lost quite a |
4162s | few player characters myself to VNA and |
4165s | Eve of Ruin we've got the new book |
4167s | coming out and as soon as you see vecna |
4169s | Eve of Ruin I was like oh looks like I'm |
4170s | gonna lose a couple more but that's part |
4173s | of the fun that's writing stories with |
4175s | your friends so before we let uh jenck |
4178s | and Dave take us through the the details |

4183s | gameplay mechanics of dead by daylight |

4208s | passionate and very talented team of |
4209s | developers of behavior it was super |

4330s | features every single stream every |
4332s | single post you guys are wanting cross |

4342s | behavior account I'm sure you heard me |
4344s | talking about cross pression with an |
4346s | account you're like what are she talking |
4347s | about um but uh yeah so make sure you |

4493s | daylight uh today I'll be talking about |
4496s | all the Incy of the game play on this |
4498s | chapter but first I will mention uh dead |
4501s | by daylight 8 years introducing dungon |
4503s | and dragon it's a big milestone for us |
4505s | but we're not the only one hitting a |
4507s | special Milestone yeah it's it's crazy |
4509s | to think that dungeon and dragon turns |
4511s | 50 this year uh and we are super proud |
4514s | and happy to be part of the celebration |
4517s | um and um um we just want to say that |
4521s | maybe when we turn 50 we do something |
4523s | else with you wizard of the ghost or |
4525s | maybe sooner yeah we'll probably be in |
4527s | retired home but we'll be glad to join |
4529s | the party uh so first uh dungon in dead |
4533s | by daylight I have to be honest here uh |
4536s | the first time you told me about uh |
4538s | what's going to be uh coming next I was |
4540s | surprised because I'm a big orror fan |
4542s | but when you think about horor dungeon |
4544s | and dragon is not the first thing that |
4545s | comes to mind but thinking about it more |
4548s | I realized no wait there's a lot of |
4549s | horror in Dungeon and dragon and Raven |
4552s | enough being my favorite module uh so |
4556s | like you really specifically focus on |
4558s | certain element of the brand so please |
4560s | tell us about those pillars yeah so when |
4562s | we start a chapter we always uh have a |
4565s | Sandbox created so that we stay um you |
4568s | know around some specific pillars like |
4570s | you said um and of course when we think |
4573s | dungeon and Dragons the first thing that |
4574s | come to mind is a magical world a high |
4578s | fantasy magical creatures wizards magic |
4581s | um all sort of things that don't |
4583s | necessarily fit exactly well into a |
4585s | horror setting but because dndd is a |
4587s | world of imagination where we can create |
4590s | whatever we want there's also a way to |
4592s | make it happen so for us the first |
4593s | pillar was to make sure that we had a |
4595s | good J position with fantasy so fully |
4597s | embracing that type of content but make |
4600s | it horrific as well and like you've seen |
4602s | in the trailer having a character like |
4603s | VNA made perfectly sense for that horror |
4607s | setting the second pillar is creative |
4609s | role playing so in the image of dungeon |
4611s | and dragon we wanted to make sure that |
4612s | players had a lot of agency a lot of |
4614s | choices |
4616s | um so that goes from uh an an amount of |
4619s | spells you can choose from in the power |
4621s | which we'll talk about later or even |
4623s | customization so way you can you know |
4625s | kind of create your own character in |
4627s | some way uh we just wanted to make sure |
4630s | that we had a lot of gameplay choices uh |
4632s | in the dbd trials and the last pillar we |
4635s | worked with is chaos so that's actually |
4637s | one of our main pillar in dead by |
4639s | daylight um but you know a lot of what |
4641s | happens in Dungeon and dragon is based |
4643s | on Randomness you throw a dice |
4645s | and with you know critical success |
4647s | critical fails and everything in between |
4649s | you see the result and you adapt to it |
4651s | so we wanted to recreate that feeling |
4653s | inside the dead by daylight trials as |
4655s | well yeah dungeon dragon is really about |
4657s | exploring a fantasy world but also be |
4659s | Trill about what's going to be the |
4661s | monster you're going to meet the next |
4663s | time you open a door so let's talk about |
4665s | that killer you'll meet the next time |
4666s | you open the door so of course dungeon |
4669s | and Dragons has a lot of iconic monsters |
4671s | we could have chosen from a lot of |
4672s | iconic villains as well and with our |
4674s | friends that wizard of the coast we've |
4676s | established that our next killer would |
4678s | be VNA VNA is just a perfect fit for |
4681s | dead by daylight he's a lich so a |
4683s | powerful wizard that um turned himself |
4687s | into Undead to be able to continue is uh |
4689s | villainy is that even a word I'm not |
4692s | sure so uh he wanted to continue to do |
4694s | his horrible stuff uh for as long as he |
4697s | could he VNA also has access to uh every |
4701s | spell in the books uh so that was very |
4704s | interesting for for us to create an |
4706s | interesting |
4707s | power of course we also have a survivor |
4710s | in the chapter uh so The Bard um a very |
4714s | interesting class there's many many |
4716s | class that we could have chosen from but |
4719s | The Bard was really the one that fit the |
4721s | most into our or setting you know for |
4723s | example when we think uh about a class |
4725s | like the Paladin um you think of the |
4728s | ability to turn the undead magical sword |
4731s | um big plated armors um and all of this |
4736s | doesn't fit really well into the world |
4737s | of dead by daylight The Bard with |
4740s | abilities like Bic inspiration the |
4741s | ability to sing to play musical |
4743s | instrument to know lore uh and even to |
4745s | insult the villain is just so on brand |
4748s | that it was a perfect fit so that's why |
4750s | we chose the bar uh as you've seen in |
4753s | the image and the trailer we're doing |
4754s | something uh special with this Survivor |
4757s | um it's akin to what we've done with |
4759s | Legion so through the Cosmetic |
4762s | customization you'll be able to choose |
4764s | between two specific character inside |
4766s | the same Survivor so you'll have the |
4768s | choice between IC tree a female elf or |
4772s | barar a human male um yeah it's |
4777s | interesting but uh when I was younger |
4779s | playing D and dragon like in my friends |
4782s | group uh The Bard was not really a class |
4784s | that people tend to play true uh |
4786s | compared especially to other class that |
4788s | you had but through throughout times |
4790s | like there's been many change in |
4792s | iteration on the class and has now |
4793s | become like such prop class to play uh |
4796s | really really fun now definitely and has |
4799s | become kind of a like an emblem to |
4802s | dungeon dragon as much as a red dragon |
4804s | now absolutely every party nowadays as a |
4807s | Bard uh and we've also seen a lot of |
4809s | Bard love uh into other content that |
4812s | dungeon and dragon produce like the |
4813s | movie for example yeah so we have an |
4815s | undead wizard we have a tadu do we have |
4818s | a new map absolutely uh we're super |
4820s | proud to have a full chapter for the |
4823s | anniversary and shocking one uh the map |
4826s | is a |
4827s | dungeon uh absolutely so in the Borgo |
4831s | realm we have a new map with a new |
4833s | building uh so there is a top part set |
4835s | in The Marvelous new lighting of the |
4837s | Borgo realm um and you can find this uh |
4840s | isolated Tower in the middle you can go |
4842s | inside and go into an extensive dungeon |
4846s | underground uh packed with surprises and |
4848s | Easter egg related to dungeon and |
4850s | Dragons um the goal with this map is |
4853s | that we've imagined that vcna knowing |
4855s | about different Realms and plane uh now |
4858s | trapped into the realm of the entity |
4860s | would find a place to make his own to |
4862s | make his home his layer um and so that |
4864s | he can study where he is the world The |
4867s | Entity and potentially find a way to |
4869s | escape maybe maybe not um we are also |
4873s | introducing a new gameplay mechanic in |
4875s | this map called passage um so these are |
4879s | basically doors magical doors which you |
4882s | can use to teleport from one area to the |
4884s | map to the next and we think it's going |
4886s | to add a new interesting spice to |
4890s | chases the map the Easter egg uh it's |
4894s | super fun like if you're a fan of |
4895s | dungeon and dragon uh just exploring |
4897s | you're going to be trilled to see all |
4899s | the small and the big one uh on the |
4902s | gameplay side now for VNA so the way we |
4904s | tackle or approach the the the killer |
4907s | this time interestingly comes from a |
4909s | game so he has game mechanic that are |
4912s | existent so we look at all like stats BL |
4915s | and try to come up with like the best |
4917s | spell that could be translated into game |
4920s | mechanic for for us and also make sure |
4922s | that the these will be like trading and |
4925s | exciting to use but then uh so Defy is a |
4930s | spellcaster a very powerful one so the |
4932s | goal was to make him feel as such uh you |
4935s | know game uh but like I was saying uh |
4938s | Magic it's something that we have never |
4940s | really tackled not not that way before |
4944s | uh something we try to uh stay away from |
4947s | like our powers are really visceral or |
4949s | like grounded as much as possible uh |
4952s | it's something that uh do you want to |
4954s | talk about a bit magic yeah yes please I |
4956s | hope uh some of uh our team colleagues |
4959s | are laughing right now they're uh I kind |
4962s | of have of a bad rep internally about |
4964s | magic uh it's almost a taboo word that |
4966s | we can't use uh but now making a that a |
4970s | DND chapter for sure we had to embrace |
4974s | magic and of course there is a space for |
4977s | magic in Orr games but it has to be |
4979s | taken with the right tone so in this |
4981s | case we're talking necromancy blood |
4983s | magic magic of the Dead um and there's a |
4986s | touch of realism uh and visceral that we |
4990s | wanted to add to to Magic uh versus |
4993s | something more flashy like a magic |
4995s | projectile or a fireball for example |
4997s | there's also something quite interesting |
4998s | out of dungeon and dragons and these are |
5000s | the utility spells um they're spells |
5003s | that are not used to kill or damage but |
5006s | they're used in very creative ways and |
5008s | we wanted to uh highlight that with |
5010s | delich with VNA uh so that was our |
5013s | approach now do you want to talk to us |
5014s | about the spell that we actually chosen |
5016s | sure so you have access to four |
5019s | different type of spell uh pretty much |
5021s | any any time they have their own |
5023s | individual uh cool down uh but so the |
5026s | first one is called fly a very popular |
5028s | uh wellknown dungeon and dragon spell in |
5031s | in in our game it lift up the Killer and |
5034s | uh your pushed forward um obviously |
5037s | faster so it's really like the traversal |
5039s | aspect of the power uh it lasts for a |
5041s | short amount of time and uh it it's |
5044s | going to also end if you Vault uh a |
5046s | pallet or a vault location and uh this |
5050s | is really useful to uh get uh closer to |
5053s | Survivor and uh get to the next gen as |
5056s | soon as possible the next one is called |
5058s | Flight of the dam which is it's not |
5061s | really a dungeon dragon spell it's more |
5062s | connected to uh vcna it's an actually an |
5066s | ability that he has uh what it does is |
5068s | that it cast four five sorry different |
5071s | uh individual uh projectile and then it |
5074s | shoots them in a cone radius effect in |
5076s | front of him uh this projectile pass |
5079s | through obstacles they don't go very far |
5081s | but if they hit the Survivor they get |
5083s | damage instantly um it might sound very |
5087s | powerful and easy to use but it's not |
5089s | the case uh Survivor have a lot of |
5091s | Contour but the spell can also be used |
5094s | to Zone |
5095s | uh in in in this aspect so you can also |
5098s | go for the the basic M1 attack during |
5100s | that time uh the third spell is called |
5104s | um dispelling sphere which is actually |
5106s | it's a combination of different uh |
5108s | existing dungeon and dragon spell which |
5110s | just felt like it was more compelling to |
5113s | combine them into one spell uh so what |
5116s | it does you cast a large sphere in front |
5118s | of you and that sphere moves slowly |
5120s | throughout the level Survivor do not see |
5122s | that sphere and uh if they get uh in |
5125s | contact with that sphere they get |
5126s | revealed for a few second by Killer |
5128s | Instinct and also have their magic items |
5131s | disabled for a minute uh and the last |
5134s | but not least spell is Mage hand very |
5138s | well known uh dungeon and dragon spell |
5141s | what it does in dead by daylight you as |
5143s | the killer you can tag up a nearby |
5146s | pallet H and if the pallet is upward it |
5148s | blocks the pallet for a few second uh |
5151s | cannot be interacted by Survivor and if |
5153s | it's downward it's lifted up for you so |
5155s | you can fully pass without any uh |
5159s | obstacles uh so the idea with the scalar |
5162s | it has a lot of tools and tricks uh in |
5164s | his bag and it's really about managing |
5166s | all the force spells the cool down and |
5169s | try to uh activate them at the right |
5172s | moment uh so that's really how you're |
5174s | going to improve uh as a killer is |
5176s | learning how to use them at the right |
5178s | time and be efficient with them so lots |
5181s | of strategic and tactical um uh choices |
5184s | here correct so you've mentioned very |
5186s | quickly uh during um the dispel sphere |
5189s | the magical item did I yeah what's |
5192s | what's that okay uh so this is the new |
5194s | toy for Survivor uh it's it's called |
5197s | magic items but keep in mind it's not an |
5199s | actual items uh that they use so this |
5202s | time if you face VNA uh you're going to |
5205s | have a Survivor going to have seven |
5207s | different chest that's going to spawn to |
5209s | help the level uh Survivor go interact |
5211s | with those chests and while during the |
5213s | opening of the chest there's going to be |
5215s | a D20 dice roll yes it's Z and Dragon we |
5218s | couldn't do without the dice roll so |
5221s | this dice roll will determine the |
5222s | content of the chest so if Survivor roll |
5225s | from uh from two to four they get a |
5229s | basic uh dead by daylight Brown item so |
5233s | better than nothing yeah well maybe that |
5235s | brown medkit might save your life I |
5237s | don't know uh but the fun part is when |
5240s | you roll from 5 to 19 that's when you |
5242s | get the magic items and it works is that |
5245s | each Survivor has an equipment slot a |
5248s | two equipment slot they have the bracers |
5250s | and the boots uh so there's two type of |
5252s | magic items and each magic item is going |
5255s | to be randomly linked uh the first time |
5257s | you open the chest to ve one of the four |
5260s | VNA spells and uh once they are equipped |
5264s | uh each time the killer will cast the |
5266s | spell that is linked to one of your |
5268s | magic item you're going to gain a |
5270s | passive bonus uh to help out uh uh kind |
5274s | of uh |
5275s | avoid the spell or help you out against |
5277s | VNA in general so for to be more precise |
5281s | so if you have bracers against the fly |
5284s | spell you're going to see vcna Aura |
5286s | during the traveling that will use the |
5288s | the spell if you have a boots for |
5291s | example against the Flight of the dam |
5294s | you see the aura of the projectile very |
5296s | useful because the projectile goes |
5297s | through collision and the best way to |
5299s | use that spell is through walls uh if |
5301s | you have magic items against the dising |
5303s | sphere Survivor SE the sphere so they |
5305s | can Juke and around go around the the |
5308s | sphere as much as they can and if you |
5311s | have a counter against the Mage hand you |
5313s | see the aura of the hand on the pallet |
5316s | and also gain a little um a effect so |
5320s | that help you out uh around the the loop |
5324s | okay yeah so it's really important to uh |
5326s | search those chests yeah correct because |
5328s | uh the way that we we tackled this like |
5331s | the the balance in this case is that we |
5334s | made sure that the the magic items do |
5336s | not trunker the Killer's power it's it's |
5339s | made or balance uh to face Survivor who |
5342s | have them equipped so if you don't get |
5345s | those uh definitely the killer might |
5347s | feel a bit oppressive so it's really up |
5349s | to Survivor to get to those chests and |
5351s | uh equip them as soon as possible right |
5353s | and just to be clear you can also equip |
5356s | a normal item with that so you can have |
5357s | your flashlight bracer and Boots correct |
5359s | it's a very different uh slot so |
5362s | everybody heard you talk about a lot of |
5364s | num here on the dice but you've not |
5366s | mentioned the critical fail one and |
5368s | critical success on the 20 for people |
5370s | that uh don't play dndd these are like |
5374s | events the best event that can happen in |
5375s | Dungeon and Dragons when you get that |
5377s | critical fail or that critical success |
5379s | so what happens in that by daylight when |
5381s | that happens yes so we have critical |
5383s | role in the game if you roll a one uh |
5386s | you get sorry a big nothing although |
5388s | have heard sometimes people get a Green |
5390s | Key guess luy you uh but I know know |
5394s | what you get if you roll a 20 so anyone |
5397s | who's familiar with vcna in the lore of |
5400s | dungeon and dragon there are two uh very |
5402s | specific artifact that exist that is |
5405s | called the ey of VNA and the an of VNA |
5407s | and we introduce them in our game so you |
5410s | roll a 20 you get one of the two you |
5412s | never know uh but uh these Works more |
5415s | like a normal item so you have to pick |
5418s | them up and use them once it's called a |
5420s | tune so you merge with the items uh and |
5424s | then you unlock a very powerful ability |
5427s | up to like perk level uh yes it's very |
5430s | strong uh I guess you want to know |
5432s | please do say okay sure so if you attune |
5435s | with the eye of VNA uh they use with |
5438s | lockers so if you fast exit a locker |
5440s | you're going to be unseen unheard by the |
5443s | killer uh for 15 seconds and on top of |
5446s | that you gain a haste boost effect and |
5449s | if you attune with the end of VNA you |
5452s | fast enter a locker and you get to be uh |
5455s | teleported further down uh F the locker |
5458s | wow so uh very powerful uh I forgot the |
5461s | little details because they might sound |
5463s | super strong uh said like that but they |
5467s | come with a cost so to use them you have |
5469s | to be full health and once you use them |
5472s | you instantly lose a health State uh and |
5475s | also at the end of the effect you get |
5476s | revealed by K Instinct so be very |
5479s | mindful the way you use them because |
5482s | we've seen very a lot of situation where |
5484s | backfire at the the Survivor and the the |
5487s | killer has uh definity a spell to help |
5490s | him out get back at the at the Survivor |
5493s | and get the down it's very on brand with |
5495s | what a curse item should be indeed thank |
5497s | you so much jenck um as you can see |
5500s | there's a a lot of stuff uh coming with |
5502s | VNA um and we had no time today to talk |
5506s | about anything more about the the killer |
5509s | perks or the Survivor but I have to say |
5511s | very quickly uh that the Survivor perk |
5513s | will allow you to create Illusions uh to |
5516s | perform on the loot you can even perform |
5519s | with uh other survivors to do the full |
5521s | Melody there's also a dice roll mechanic |
5523s | uh for one of the the perk uh so if you |

5719s | absolutely uh there's uh there's a lot |
5721s | of stuff um going into that choice for |
5723s | sure uh so first of all we are super um |
5727s | happy to and grateful to have a |
5728s | community already there playing that by |
5730s | daylight M so of course we listen to |
5733s | what they want to see what they want to |
5735s | play um so that comes into the recipe of |
5737s | the choice we're going to make um we |
5740s | also want to make sure that we will |
5741s | create something new to experience |
5744s | something that's completely out of what |
5746s | we are used to in dead by daylight so |
5748s | that comes into the genre we want to |
5749s | create um also we want to interest new |
5752s | players into the world of dead by |
5754s | daylight um some people that never heard |
5757s | of dead by daylight but also some uh |
5759s | viewers that are interested about the |
5761s | world of DVD but that don't play dbd |
5764s | because maybe it's not their style of |
5766s | game so we want also these player to be |
5769s | with us and experience the world of dead |
5771s | by daylight and just like you were |
5773s | saying with people being interested in |
5775s | the world of dead by daylight as the |
5776s | creative director why do you think |
5778s | there's so much interest in this in the |
5780s | lore of a multiplayer game that's based |
5781s | in action well it it's been very |
5784s | important uh for us since day one when |
5786s | we started working on this project um uh |
5789s | the the story and the narrative around |
5791s | everything we create we want to make |
5793s | sure that uh every little component in |
5795s | dbd as a as a story and a reason to live |
5798s | in the universe we take great care into |
5801s | making that happen so um you know |
5804s | there's a lot of mysteries within |
5805s | Mysteries a lot of layers to our |
5807s | narrative uh which I think are super |
5810s | interesting and players want to know |
5812s | more um so these games will allow us to |
5816s | discover these these elements that we've |
5817s | SE it in the past you know like every |
5820s | killer and every Survivor in dead by |
5822s | daylight could have their own movie or |
5823s | their own game really yeah they've got |
5825s | so much lore it's really amazing to just |
5828s | dive into and speaking of lore I mean |
5831s | this is something we want to expand on |
5833s | with the world of dead by daylight so |
5835s | we're doing that in one of our upcoming |
5836s | games the casting of Frank Stone so can |
5838s | you tell us a bit more about that uh |
5840s | right I I can tell you a little bit um |
5843s | um yes so of course there's uh different |
5846s | type of stories in games right there's |
5848s | uh there's games that have a static |
5850s | narrative that you experience that's |
5852s | great uh there's also games that the |
5854s | narrative is is made very organically by |
5857s | the players like dbd is a good example |
5859s | of that um the casting of frankstone |
5863s | is somewhere in between right it's a |
5866s | it's a game where there is uh multiple |
5868s | narrative and based on the player choice |
5872s | uh and you know different things happen |
5874s | and and um based on their choice |
5877s | different endings and different |
5878s | branching in the story will happen um so |
5881s | the casting of Frank stone is very |
5883s | interesting for us because it brings the |
5886s | origin uh of a killer and potentially |
5889s | survivors um and the players are able to |
5892s | play that um for the first time you know |
5895s | some that we are used to see as a lore |
5897s | or a bio or a to entry in dbd now will |
5900s | be playable it's still in the entities's |
5903s | universe it's still very much part of |
5905s | the world of dbd but it's going to be |
5908s | out of the trials so that's going to be |
5910s | an interesting uh take on our universe |
5913s | okay so we know that the casting |
5915s | frankstone is still in that that realm |
5917s | but what about our other project um this |
5920s | unnamed multiplayer PVE game is that |
5923s | also going to be taking place in the |
5924s | entity's realm absolutely so uh it it is |
5927s | in the world of dbd it is in the entity |
5930s | and one one cool thing about the entity |
5932s | is that uh we know very little about |
5935s | exactly what it is but we do know that |
5937s | it's a living Universe it is uh it is |
5940s | huge and we can't really comprehend |
5942s | everything that's happening within it so |
5944s | we know that dbd trials are a way for |
5948s | the entity to feed um it's a very kind |
5951s | of organic process um so we can imagine |
5955s | that there are other parts in The Entity |
5957s | that serves other purposes and that's is |
5961s | exactly what we want to explore uh so |
5964s | that allows us to create new narrative |
5966s | new ways to experience a game New Way |
5969s | new you know gameplay opportunity uh new |
5972s | set of rules so these are thing that we |
5975s | talked about in the past um and that we |
5978s | always wanted to uh explore so that's |
5980s | exactly what we want to do with with |
5982s | this uh new Untitled game so in a way |
5985s | the world of dbd that we've created is |
5987s | like um a book with infinite Pages we |
5990s | can add new stories to it forever |

6519s | have you cooked up this year so this |
6521s | year we got some amazing stuff honestly |
6523s | I think it's our best anniversary event |
6525s | yet but before we get to it we have what |
6528s | we call before the Masquerade so that is |
6531s | going to be something that actually |
6532s | starts right after this stream so for |
6533s | everyone who's watching once this is |
6535s | over |
6536s | go play and we've got lots of really |
6539s | cool stuff as a big thank you to all of |
6541s | the players it's really stuff from all |
6543s | of dbd's history and includes a lot of |

6619s | rift fragments so if you want to |
6621s | progress towards the rift this is a very |

6632s | iridescent shards damn and then after |
6636s | DND D releases the last week and a half |

6645s | new chapter they can get hype for the |
6647s | Masquerade they can NAB some of the |
6649s | older anniversary charms as well is that |

6653s | chance who haven't earned them during |
6654s | previous years you know to celebrate the |
6657s | buildup to the event Itself by earning |
6659s | you know like some really cool |
6660s | masquerade crows or things like that |

6665s | itself so the event itself now that |
6667s | we've tackled before the Masquerade the |
6670s | big new thing that is coming for this |
6672s | year's Twisted masquerade is the reveal |
6674s | of the host of The Masquerade tricks |
6678s | herself so players might have seen her |
6680s | hinted at during previous anniversary |
6682s | events or out in outfit descriptions |
6685s | referenced as the Mad designer or zizzle |
6687s | tricks so she's finally making her |
6689s | appearance and throughout all of the |
6691s | event we want to make it very clear like |
6693s | this is her party she's everywhere she's |
6696s | the entity's biggest fan celebrating |
6699s | holding this party in its honor and |
6701s | she's not a playable character so we |
6703s | want to make that very clear she is |
6705s | there pushing everybody to engage and |
6708s | celebrate I love that so does this mean |
6710s | we're going to see a lot more of her in |
6712s | the Twisted masquerade absolutely so we |
6715s | have a lot of the UI that is themed you |
6717s | might have seen some last year so we've |
6719s | done a lot of updating for that we've |
6721s | got father Campbell's Chapel coming back |
6723s | with the whole party taking place inside |
6726s | some updated content in there to show |
6728s | that the party is progressing or dying |
6731s | slightly might find some |
6733s | corpses then in addition to all that |
6735s | stuff really permeating the game we've |
6736s | got the lobby the loading screens she's |
6738s | going to appear in Trials you will hear |
6741s | her laughing at you or cheering you on |
6743s | around the exit gates there's really |
6745s | voice lines that's going to appear |
6747s | everywhere really accentuating the |
6749s | gameplay it's going to be amazing like |
6751s | we we loved hearing all the voice lines |
6753s | that we had recorded for this with all |
6756s | that stuff like we got a lot of really |
6758s | cool gameplay that I'm going to talk |
6759s | about in just a second but one thing I |
6761s | wanted to mention is that all of our |
6763s | event gameplay now is going to take |
6765s | place within a separate event que so if |
6768s | you want some of the the normal dbd like |
6771s | in the core mode you can have that but |
6774s | if you want the event stuff go over to |
6775s | the really cool event queue and take |
6777s | part of trix's you know Twisted |
6779s | masquerade and I have to say as well if |
6781s | you go to the core mode it's still going |
6783s | to have a lot of the decorations so you |
6784s | get the vibe with the core experience |
6787s | and that's a really good quality of life |
6789s | improvement over last year right like |
6791s | giving players that option to choose you |
6794s | if they want to just do classic dead by |
6796s | daylight they can with some extra flare |
6798s | on it or they can choose the uh the |
6800s | event queue that's a nice nice |
6802s | Improvement so uh you mentioned it so |
6804s | what are some of the gameplay changes |
6805s | that are coming with Trix so Trix is |
6808s | bringing what we call her bag of tricks |
6810s | to the party she wants to spice things |
6812s | up she wants everyone to have a lot of |
6814s | fun so what we've got is that as a match |
6816s | progresses one of a series of abilities |
6819s | or sorry a one of a tricks is going to |
6822s | be played on our players and these are |
6824s | going to be things like giving everybody |
6826s | haste giving people undetectable |
6828s | spawning anniversary special chests or |
6830s | totems some really cool stuff that's |
6832s | going to spice it up and this is going |
6834s | to happen um Whenever two points are |
6838s | accumulated during a match so at first |
6840s | I'd say one trick actually takes place |
6841s | at the match start following that |
6844s | whenever two points are accumulated from |
6846s | you know doing a gen first hook things |
6849s | like that each which each gives one |
6851s | point that is then going to trigger |
6852s | another tricks to maximum of five during |
6855s | a match so like we want to really keep |
6857s | things interesting and when a Trix is |
6859s | actually activated you're going to see |
6861s | Trix herself appear alongside or take |
6864s | the spot of one of the dancing |
6866s | marionettes she's going to even deliver |
6868s | a line that hints at what has been |
6870s | played so if you're not paying attention |
6872s | know she's going to give you this really |
6873s | cool audio |
6874s | queue that's awesome and so in addition |
6877s | to all of that I think we're also doing |
6879s | some sort of update for the invitation |
6881s | mechanic yeah absolutely so the |
6883s | invitations last year we had players run |
6886s | around gather those and you could either |
6887s | spend it to use an ability while inside |
6889s | a Chase or escape with it to help you |
6892s | earn a mask |
6893s | this year there's no need to escape with |
6895s | it to earn a mask that's a different |
6897s | thing and we've even added outside of |
6900s | Chase abilities to the invitation so if |
6902s | you're someone who doesn't necessarily |
6903s | want to always be chased by a killer or |
6905s | wants to have a more diverse use for it |
6907s | we've added that so survivors can now go |
6910s | into quiet mode so making a lot less |
6912s | noise and can even do things like |
6914s | quickly enter a locker without alerting |
6916s | the killer it it's super useful to get |
6918s | out of that chase right away that's |
6920s | fantastic um or if they're nearby and |
6923s | you don't want to alert them for killers |
6925s | they can now use an invitation to |
6927s | immediately send a down Survivor to a |
6929s | nearby hook and as I can say from play |
6932s | tests it's really fun I think the |
6934s | community is going to love that can't |
6936s | wait for them to play but uh also I |
6938s | think there's challenges we've added so |
6940s | you can earn masks right yeah exactly so |
6944s | this year all earning all of the masks |
6946s | is going to be related to engaging with |
6947s | event challenges and earning event |
6949s | currency so all of them are going to be |
6951s | earned like this that's going to be how |
6953s | you earn most of the rewards um and past |
6956s | masks and outfits that were earnable or |
6958s | in the store last year are also coming |
6960s | back so if someone was not able to get |
6963s | those during previous years those are |
6965s | all now going to be available inside the |
6967s | store for the duration of the event and |
6970s | I have to say that we have also a |
6971s | licensed guest showing a mask this year |
6973s | a Mr detective tap amazing amazing |
6977s | that's so cool um look at those masks |
6979s | those are fantastic there they are heck |
6980s | yes fantastic good Lord um so it |

6986s | rewards what can you tell us about the |

7269s | character so it's it's similar to what |
7271s | we've done with the legion so instead of |
7272s | having like the normal Ed torso uh legs |
7276s | parts for The Bard we have Ed and torso |
7279s | in one piece the legs in another piece |

7283s | and so changing the Ed torso piece you |

7367s | added each iteration we do after this |
7369s | first one we strive to add a few more |
7371s | killers uh as we move forward as far as |
7374s | classes go it's something that we're |
7375s | still really waiting for uh there's a |
7378s | possibility we do something like a class |
7379s | system but we're going to wait until we |
7381s | get this iteration into your hands and |
7383s | work with your feedback and and see |

7389s | difference between a game mode and a |
7390s | modifier for Justin okay uh it's just |
7394s | like what Matt said a modifier is really |

7403s | how fast or how many generators there |
7405s | are to do or random perks a mode is |
7408s | something that's going to fundamentally |

7484s | repair progress uh is is still made |

7492s | TV8 permanent after some iterations |

7497s | working out uh but I can tell you for |
7500s | sure in year nine there it will not be |

7506s | to depend sort of the engagement level |
