2367s | Daylights year n road map I'm going to |
2369s | take a second here at the top of the |
2371s | show to give a big big shout out to our |
2373s | absolutely phenomenal team that's |
2375s | working on the game day in day out they |
2377s | are the reason we are here with you |
2379s | today and celebrate eight amazing years |
2381s | of dead by daylight before going any |
2384s | further I just want to address something |
2385s | that's probably going to get talked |
2386s | about quite a bit in in the chats across |
2388s | different uh the different channels uh |
2391s | we know since the last uh the last |
2392s | update there's been a rubber bending |
2394s | issue that's been plaguing the game the |
2395s | team has been working extremely hard at |
2397s | it over last few few weeks we have a |
2400s | tentative fix that the team has been |
2402s | working on that we're hoping to test on |
2403s | the ptb later today if everything is |
2406s | successful with that we will be |
2407s | deploying that fix to life and hopefully |
2409s | it should improve the situation but |
2410s | still to be confirmed so keep up uh keep |
2413s | keep an eye on our channels for that |
2414s | we'll keep you all posted about this |
2417s | moving into the future a little bit the |
2420s | coming year for dead by daylight is |
2422s | going to be huge and that's saying |
2423s | something coming off of our biggest year |
2426s | to date since the last anniversary we |
2428s | have released amazing licensed content |
2431s | such as alien Chucky Alan Wake and a |
2434s | personal favorite of mine Nick Cage such |
2437s | an amazing addition to the game on top |
2439s | of that we've also released our most |
2441s | popular original chapter to date all |
2443s | things Wicked of course and we can't |
2445s | forget we did the Halloween event which |
2447s | was bigger and better than ever with the |
2448s | introduction of the Void this year we |
2450s | introduced the concept of modifiers in |
2452s | dead by daylight starting in February uh |
2455s | lights out we followed it with my little |
2456s | Onie and soon later this week we'll |
2458s | introduce chaos Shuffle the third one we |
2461s | took a few steps towards improving the |
2462s | player experience uh between anti-ace |
2465s | Camp blood web ux improvements uh the |
2468s | killer fov slider Survivor DC Bots and |
2471s | even the search bar uh so there's a lot |
2474s | there uh and finally we've taken a few |
2477s | big steps towards increasing our |
2478s | transparency our communication with |
2480s | regular live streams on each of our |
2482s | content releases thus far and off |
2485s | talking about the past let's dive into |
2487s | the future and what's really coming up |
2489s | for this year we're happy to announce |
2491s | today that we have six new chapters |
2493s | currently in the works and two of those |
2495s | chapters will be Survivor only chapters |
2497s | for this year on top of that we'll have |
2500s | the usual four new TOs that are going to |
2502s | be coming out spread throughout the year |
2504s | as we've talked a little bit and teased |
2506s | even earlier last week the first chapter |
2508s | that's going to be coming out is |
2509s | Dungeons and Dragons and we're actually |
2512s | going to Deep dive that in a soon to |
2514s | come segment right uh shortly after this |
2516s | uh this one and really promises to bring |
2519s | great gameplay and new characters to the |
2521s | world of dead by daylight of course |
2523s | we're going to follow that with a |
2524s | licensed Survivor a character who truly |
2526s | embodies the meaning of that word after |
2528s | that an iconic killer survivor duel will |
2530s | be coming into the fog and if you stick |
2532s | around to the end of the show you're |
2533s | going to get a little uh preview as to |
2535s | what that will be we'll finish off 2024 |
2538s | with an original killer and Survivor |
2540s | chapter and we'll finish off the year n |
2542s | road map with a licensed killer only |
2545s | chapter followed by an original Survivor |
2547s | only it's a lot of stuff coming up |
2550s | moving a bit away from our content road |
2552s | map um we're going to take a closer look |
2555s | at the four pillars out of which the the |
2557s | the year will be uh based on for those |
2560s | of you who have been with us for a long |
2561s | time you'll see that there's consistency |
2563s | throughout the years with the four |
2564s | pillars that we're focusing on but we're |
2566s | really adjusting the contents of each so |
2568s | that we're working on the features that |
2570s | have the most value and the most |
2571s | interest to all of our players in ways |
2574s | where we can expand the game further and |
2575s | further of course and we're going to |
2577s | start off with the trust and security |
2578s | pillar firstly we're thrilled with the |
2581s | response to our regular broadcasts uh |
2584s | and we're really happy to let you know |
2585s | you can fully expect more to come as we |
2588s | progress uh throughout the year |
2590s | accompanying all of our major releases |
2592s | security is a topic we rarely talk about |
2595s | publicly uh for good reason uh but one |
2597s | thing I will inform you all of is last |
2599s | year we set out to start tackling this |
2601s | AFK Bots problem that we see especially |
2604s | in some regions of the game phase one |

2640s | events Evolution events have always been |
2643s | a fundamental part of the game |
2645s | especially the seasonal events and this |
2647s | is something we're going to keep pushing |
2648s | forward over the coming year uh with |
2650s | with this year we're starting to to do a |
2652s | bit of a split where 're we're going to |
2655s | have our events happening on a separate |
2656s | matchmaking queue which essentially |
2658s | means that at any time there's an event |
2660s | ongoing you can decide to still play |
2661s | normal dead by deight if that's what |
2662s | you're looking for but you can also go |
2664s | into the event specific queue and play |
2666s | some of that gameplay |
2668s | this is really going to allow us to push |
2670s | gameplay further and further away from |
2671s | the typical way that by day light |
2673s | normally works and it's going to be a |
2675s | very interesting way for us to approach |
2677s | events in a different way on top of that |
2679s | we can also expect more modifiers to |
2682s | make it in the game whether it's the one |
2684s | we've talked about just before that are |
2686s | going to be re Revisited throughout the |
2687s | year or interest uh in introducing new |
2690s | modifiers that either tweaks on |
2693s | something or something completely |
2694s | different but modifiers is just a little |
2696s | sliver of what we're planning to do this |
2698s | year and I think we have something a |
2699s | little bigger that might be coming up |
2701s | absolutely and that's why I'm so happy |
2703s | to be here and let you guys know that |
2705s | for the first time ever this summer dead |
2707s | by daylight will have a new mode not |
2709s | modifier but a mode coming to you all |
2713s | we've been listening and hearing your |
2715s | feedback and I'm really happy to let you |
2717s | know that this summer replacing |
2718s | scorching barbecue will be the first |
2720s | ever time limited 2v eight mode in dead |
2722s | by daylight we'll be doing a full |
2724s | breakdown of what this mode is when we |
2726s | get closer to the really |
2728s | but for now I'm going to thank my friend |

2783s | community in on some of our plans for |
2785s | this upcoming 2v eight introduction |
2787s | absolutely thanks Justin so yeah 28 is |
2791s | coming to DVD this is a new game mode |
2794s | which is really cool other gameplay |
2796s | events that we've done before so lights |
2798s | out my little Oni soon chaos Shuffle |
2801s | these are what we're calling modifiers |
2803s | and modifiers basically take a DVD match |
2806s | change a few things but ultimately |
2809s | you're still playing DVD with this new |
2811s | game mode 2 V8 we're fundamentally |
2814s | changing the way that you play dead by |
2816s | daylight |
2818s | in this particular case there's two |
2819s | killers eight survivors and a bunch of |
2822s | new changes that we're going to get into |
2824s | very |
2825s | shortly the focus with 2v we really |
2828s | wanted to hone in on what's exciting and |
2831s | fun and chaotic with dbd and we're |
2834s | leaning more into a party mode kind of |
2837s | vibe rather than something that's super |
2840s | competitive it's also worth mentioning |
2842s | that the way that we're building this |
2844s | it's an iterative process right and this |
2847s | is the first iteration so we'll be |
2849s | looking to add more content more |
2851s | gameplay in the future based on |
2853s | community |
2854s | feedback absolutely and I'm super |
2856s | excited to see what everybody says about |
2858s | this mode when it comes out so first |
2860s | let's break down a few of the key |
2861s | changes that we know are going to be |
2863s | coming for 2v eight this summer I mean |
2865s | of course there's still generators |
2866s | there's still exit gates there's just |
2867s | more of them uh We've made five Maps |
2870s | bigger to accommodate all of the action |
2871s | all of the chaos uh and we're also doing |
2874s | way with perks in this mode instead |
2876s | introducing a new new sort of 2v eight |
2878s | exclusive system called classes for |
2881s | survivors that's right yeah so when it |
2883s | comes to survivors basically once you've |
2885s | chosen your character you can select and |
2888s | equip a player class and this class is |
2891s | effectively your power for the match and |
2893s | it helps players identify what your role |
2895s | is within the |
2896s | team so instead of mixing and matching |
2899s | perks instead we really wanted to focus |
2902s | on a particular play style for this and |
2906s | uh whether it's Ator repair healing uh |
2909s | looping speed that kind of thing that's |
2911s | what we're really going for with these |
2913s | classes of course and there's also just |
2915s | cowering in the corner which is my own |
2916s | preferred play style for Survivor uh |
2919s | which is great uh and it'll work a |
2920s | little differently for Killers uh you'll |
2922s | be able to choose from one of the five |
2924s | original Killers each with their own |
2926s | specific gameplay Killers obviously have |
2928s | powers so they don't have classes in |
2930s | this mode but we will be introducing a |
2932s | new mechanic which is a team power for |
2935s | example if you are The Wraith a when you |
2937s | cloak yourself if your teammate is |
2939s | within a certain radius of you uh they |
2941s | will also get the undetectable status |
2942s | effect allowing you to coordinate a sort |
2944s | of Team stealth attack should make for |
2946s | some entertainment uh the reason that |
2948s | we're focusing on the five original |
2949s | Killers is just to make sure that this |
2951s | is as accessible as possible they're all |
2953s | free everybody can play them everybody |
2955s | can have fun we want you to enjoy the |
2957s | content and give us your feedback and in |
2959s | my opinion the best part of this whole |
2960s | mode is the two it's the the first time |
2964s | ever that success and failure as a |
2965s | killer does not rely solely on your |
2967s | shoulders you have a teammate to sort of |
2970s | benefit from learn from or even you know |
2972s | blame uh when things go poorly so |
2974s | working together is just going to make |
2976s | the match so much more fun so much more |
2977s | efficient absolutely uh lastly it's |
2980s | worth mentioning that uh for this |
2982s | morning we really wanted to keep the |
2984s | action pace and the momentum flowing uh |
2987s | during our play test uh we found that |
2990s | the process of Downing a Survivor |
2992s | picking them up carrying them to the |
2993s | hook it really started to slow things |
2995s | down for this mode in particular |
2997s | so we're doing away with hooks as well |
2999s | there's no hooks in 28 instead once a |
3003s | killer Downs a Survivor they'll be able |
3004s | to send them to a cage this works very |
3007s | similar to Pyramid Head it will teleport |
3009s | the Survivor to another part of the map |
3011s | away from the killers and of course this |
3013s | still counts as hook States so once |
3016s | you've been hooked three times you'll be |
3018s | out of the |
3019s | match and as Justin said before there |
3022s | will be five original Killers coming to |
3024s | this iteration of this game mode but we |
3027s | will be looking to add more as we |
3029s | iterate on it and add more to it uh of |
3032s | course we'll also be uh improving the |
3034s | game as it goes along so content uh will |
3037s | be coming in as well as updates to |
3040s | classes and gameplay awesome thank you |

3130s | sudden you need to actually get the mode |
3132s | where we want it but we're using the |
3133s | word mode which means a lot so pay |
3135s | attention uh and speaking of paying |
3137s | attention uh the website that's that's a |
3140s | transition that doesn't make any sense |
3142s | but the website for what the fog uh has |
3144s | been overwhelmed by demand uh uh as as |
3147s | predicted people love that cute little |
3149s | game uh so we're working on it stay |
3151s | tuned don't worry we have lots and lots |
3153s | of keys uh for it so uh just as soon as |
3157s | we're able to tell you it's back up |

3194s | pack um you're going to get nine |
3196s | playable characters um starting with |
3198s | portrait of murder roots of dread uh |
3201s | Forge in the fog and tools of torment |
3203s | and along with these this pack is going |
3205s | to be all the additional outfits and de |
3206s | DC exclusive items um but of course if |
3209s | you don't want to get the pack they will |
3211s | be individually marked down in the |
3213s | in-game store so you can get them there |

3263s | creating all sorts of cool quality of |
3265s | life updates gameplay updates and he's |

3271s | how are you I'm pretty good going to be |
3273s | even better after this segment when we |
3274s | hear what you get to say um so I already |
3277s | know what you've got to say but I think |
3279s | people are going to be excited to hear |
3280s | about it the upcoming challenge system |
3283s | this isn't something we've told people |
3284s | about why don't you tell them about it |
3285s | right now how is it going to benefit our |
3287s | players so we really wanted to deliver |
3289s | new in-game challenges to players and |
3291s | new ways for them to be constantly |
3293s | rewarded outside of just TOs and |
3294s | archives so we're going to be |
3297s | introducing a new challenge system which |
3299s | is a system of challenges hence the name |
3301s | perfect that players are going to be |
3303s | able to complete completely passively |
3305s | that means that players don't need to |
3307s | actively select the Challenge that they |
3308s | want to complete and they can complete |
3310s | multiple of them at the same time |
3312s | initially we're going to start with |
3314s | daily challenges weekly challenges and |
3316s | event challenges and later on we want to |
3319s | expand those into other parts of the |
3320s | game as well we think that this is going |
3322s | to be a great way for players to be |
3324s | constantly rewarded just for logging in |
3325s | and playing DVD and it's going to be an |
3327s | amazing experience for everybody I think |
3329s | that's a really great addition I think |
3330s | people in the community are going to |
3332s | really appreciate just being rewarded |
3334s | for doing what they already do uh not |
3336s | having to go out and seek it but just |
3337s | it's it's happening in the background at |
3339s | all times that's really great um so |
3341s | another great thing that we're adding |
3343s | actually is how we talk to our players |
3347s | um that's the main job of my team is |
3349s | talking and listening to our players uh |
3351s | but we do it out in the world we do it |
3352s | on social media we do it on Tik Tok and |
3354s | Twitter and other places uh but in-game |
3357s | is obviously the best place to talk to |
3358s | people and you've got some updates there |
3360s | yeah we're here to make the players |
3361s | lives easier and your life easier as |
3363s | well so we're going to be introducing a |
3365s | new inbox base system that will help |
3367s | connect players with the news that you |
3369s | have to announce including patch notes |
3371s | announcements rewards and a lot more |
3374s | that way players will see less popups |
3376s | when they launched into the game and |
3378s | they'll be able to get into their games |
3379s | quicker and overall the players will be |
3382s | able to stay connected with the world of |
3384s | DVD and the news that you have to |
3385s | announce yeah and it gives new tools |
3387s | right like being able to tell people the |
3389s | the patch notes in detail is something |
3390s | we couldn't do before and now we can so |
3393s | again you have to go find it on the web |
3394s | you'll be able to get it in the game uh |
3397s | pop-ups not popups but notifications for |
3399s | rewards as well is another great |
3401s | Improvement so really good work there by |
3403s | the team uh but we're not done uh |
3406s | actually this is something people are |
3407s | familiar with the finisher Mory system |
3409s | we tested it out a while back in ptb got |
3411s | a ton of great feedback from the |
3413s | community uh the team took that feedback |
3415s | went back to the shop to T with it and |
3417s | we've got the final version to tell |
3419s | people about now right I love finisher |
3421s | moris I think they're a really amazing |
3422s | showcase for how deadly and gruesome are |
3424s | killers can be but we also acknowledged |
3426s | that there was some room for improvement |
3427s | from the survivors perspective so like |
3429s | you said we've taken the feedback we've |
3431s | re reiterated on it and try to land on |
3433s | what was the best player experience so |
3436s | in a coming update visher moris are |
3438s | going to become a baseline feature for |
3440s | all killers in the game that means that |
3442s | killers are going to have access to the |
3443s | killer finisher moris by default but |
3446s | they're only going to be able to use |
3447s | them on the last remaining Survivor that |
3450s | way if the Killer is able to Su |
3452s | successfully pull it off we get an |
3454s | exciting conclusion to the match and the |
3456s | survivors can feel that the games ended |
3458s | in a fair way and the move went and this |
3460s | match went smoothly and it was a really |
3462s | exciting experience for |
3464s | everybody more offerings are also going |
3466s | to be updated to instead give bonus |
3468s | blood points so that it'll be a more |
3471s | rewarding experience for Killers if |
3472s | they're able to pull it off so the |
3473s | Killer is going to want to land that at |
3475s | the end happens at the end like you said |
3477s | so we're not killing the flow of the |
3478s | match I think it's a really great |
3480s | balance from where we started and the |
3482s | feedback that we got so kudos to you and |
3484s | the team and that's all we've got from |

3809s | right now I've been playing Dungeons and |
3810s | Dragons since I'm what 10 years old and |
3813s | it's an absolute dream come true so |

3833s | that people have had to how to craft |
3835s | stories how to design games how to |
3837s | create experiences for other people uh |
3841s | we've seen it of course within the dev |
3842s | team there's so many people who've got |
3844s | their first taste of designing games |
3846s | through Dungeons and Dragons have you |
3848s | seen this to be true with uh other |
3850s | developers that you worked |
3852s | with oh absolutely yeah I always say |
3855s | it's the the easiest thing about my job |
3856s | is I never have to teach people what DND |
3859s | is or what the brand is about because |
3861s | when I'm working with the developer |
3862s | there's I guarantee you the person that |
3864s | I'm talking to has played and everybody |
3866s | on their team has played or at the very |
3867s | least is like very aware of of what the |
3869s | game is and what it entails it makes it |
3870s | makes my job very very easy um you know |
3873s | I I I always joke around D andd is kind |
3875s | of this like the building block or like |
3877s | the connective tissue between game |
3878s | designers you can be at a gaming |
3881s | convention and you're talking other |
3882s | developers and if you have nothing else |
3883s | in common just start talking about D and |
3885s | yeah it's true it's kind of a Common |
3887s | Language there's so many common |
3888s | references there uh yeah for me |
3891s | personally like I said it's a dream come |
3893s | true I still play Dungeons and Dragons |
3895s | every week with my group of friends I'm |
3897s | the forever DM in that group and uh I |
3901s | know that there are a couple of other |
3902s | people on my team who were absolutely |
3904s | thrilled to be a part of this what made |
3907s | it made sense for Wizard of the coast to |
3910s | enter into this |
3912s | collaboration uh that's a great question |
3915s | uh I think that exploring horror is |
3917s | always something that's really really |
3919s | interested us um Dungeons and Dragons |
3922s | has dipped its toes in in in horror |
3924s | before you know we've got modules like |
3926s | curse of strad we've got um a lot of um |
3929s | different horror elements we've brought |
3931s | together in some of our monsters um |
3933s | obviously characters like vcna have have |
3935s | been super horror driven so when the |
3938s | idea popped up on our radar hey you know |
3940s | uh what do we think about working |
3942s | together with behavior on a dead by |
3944s | daylight module um it like the light |
3946s | turned on instantly I don't think |
3948s | anybody was qu there were no question |
3950s | marks it was mostly just exclamation |
3951s | points it's like how how do we do this |
3953s | the best right like let's find the |
3954s | coolest character let's find the coolest |
3957s | setting let's let's really make this a |
3959s | true sort of celebration of D and inside |
3962s | of dead by daylight and make it a way |
3963s | that feels super native to that game |
3966s | yeah and and you mentioned horror I mean |
3968s | I know a lot of people will probably |
3970s | think that their first thought when they |
3972s | think of Dungeons and Dragons is not |
3973s | necessarily horror but there is quite a |
3976s | lot of potential for Horror in there I |
3978s | mean it is a very flexible medium to |
3980s | tell stories and horror stories are some |
3982s | of the stories that will provoke the |
3985s | most intense emotions and reactions in |
3987s | players so for us it it it made sense |
3990s | yes yeah I'm I'm I'm also slightly in |
3993s | the forever dungeon master box you are |
3996s | uh I try to inject a little bit of |
3997s | horror into all the campaigns that I run |
3999s | I think that it's just a great tool to |
4001s | use to tell stories if your players |
4003s | never get scared right there's you're |
4005s | probably doing something a little bit |
4006s | wrong um and like you mentioned Dungeons |
4008s | and Dragons is just a really flexible |
4011s | system for telling stories at the end of |
4012s | the day the players and the dungeon |
4014s | Masters you're not fighting each other |
4015s | you're just they're telling a |
4016s | collaborative story about what happens |
4018s | and horror is just a great tool to |
4020s | include in that box of Storytelling um |
4022s | it's yeah it's it's D and D hasn't |
4024s | always been hey we are a horror game but |
4028s | the tools are there if you want to do it |
4029s | and I think some of the best |
4030s | storytellers out there definitely |
4032s | Implement those tools yeah yeah there |
4034s | are many examples out there now uh why |
4038s | vcna I mean we've seen it in the trailer |
4040s | is an absolutely terrifying presence I |
4043s | think that whether you're a Survivor or |
4044s | a killer and you play play with vcna in |
4047s | that game it's going to be a really |
4049s | really intense experience so tell me a |
4051s | little bit why VNA and why it makes |
4054s | sense uh for me the main reason that |
4058s | vcna was very clearly like on the top of |
4060s | the podium the entire time we were |
4061s | discussing potential Killers is that |
4063s | vcna has always had this horror movie |
4068s | monster vibe to him I mean as a lich |
4071s | he's always had the ability to you can |
4072s | even kill him and he just pops back up |
4073s | and we come back it might not be |

4083s | it's and the thing about D and D is very |
4086s | quickly in a D and D setting your party |

4090s | right you're you're defeating all these |
4092s | other monsters that you know like |
4094s | dragons and stuff and then VNA shows up |
4095s | and you're like oh we need to run away |
4097s | vna's here like he's he's such a scary |
4100s | inevitable threat in the universe that |
4102s | even his earliest appearances were just |
4104s | items with his name on them and every |
4105s | every body was wondering oh who's who's |
4107s | this guy VNA that's got this eye and |
4109s | this and this hand and um it was just |
4111s | like Whispers of this ancient evil that |
4113s | was so powerful you couldn't even print |
4115s | a stat block for him because he was just |
4117s | that strong yeah it's the terrifying |
4119s | presence that few talk about but if |
4121s | you've heard about him it's probably |
4123s | already too late it's uh it's true that |
4125s | it's got that absolute flavor and he is |
4129s | he has been part of the Dungeons and |
4130s | Dragons Universe for almost 50 years now |
4133s | right he was there at the very very |
4134s | beginning like you said as Whispers as |
4137s | just a note in there but he does have a |
4139s | stat block and and reading it is is all |
4142s | it's not ridiculous but it's it's so |
4145s | much power in those pages like you |
4148s | understand that he is like you said |
4150s | inevitable but also he is able to scare |
4153s | a party of level 15 adventurers who are |
4157s | technically almost Unstoppable by that |
4160s | point right right yeah it's it's kind of |
4163s | fun it's it it's it's always like I've |
4166s | lost quite a few player characters to |
4169s | VNA and you know EV of Ruin we've got |
4171s | the new book coming out and as soon as |
4173s | you see VNA Eva ruin I was like oh looks |
4175s | like I'm gonna lose a couple more but |
4177s | that's part of the fun that's writing |
4179s | stories with your friends so yeah before |
4182s | we let uh jenck and Dave take us through |
4184s | the the details of how we implemented |
4187s | vcna with the gameplay mechanics of dead |
4189s | by daylight how we presented him to our |
4191s | players uh I wondering if you have a |
4194s | message for the hardcore DM fans out |

4203s | uh try this chapter out even if you |
4205s | don't play it like watch somebody stream |
4207s | it because this uh this chapter it's a |
4210s | love letter to Dungeons and Dragons from |
4212s | a very passionate and very talented team |
4214s | of developers of behavior it was super |
4217s | obvious throughout the entire process |
4218s | that you know from the sound design work |
4221s | to the animations and the modeling and |
4223s | like even like yeah it's I I can't |
4225s | stressed enough how easy it made the |
4227s | approvals process on our end that all of |
4230s | this work came in very obviously driven |
4232s | by an incredibly high level of passion |

4334s | most requested features every single |
4337s | stream every single post you guys are |
4339s | wanting cross progression and we're |
4340s | giving it to you later this summer uh |

4344s | on any platform that they're playing on |
4347s | and have a behavior account I'm sure you |
4349s | heard me talking about cross regression |
4350s | with an account you're like what is she |
4351s | talking about um but yes so make sure |
4354s | you have that and uh you'll be able to |

4500s | talking about all the intricacy of the |
4502s | game play on this chapter but first I |
4504s | will mention uh dead by daylight eight |
4507s | years uh introducing dung and dragon |
4509s | it's a big milestone for us but we're |
4511s | not the only one hitting a special |
4513s | mindstone yeah it's it's crazy to think |
4515s | that dungeon and dragon turns 50 this |
4517s | year uh and we are super proud and happy |
4520s | to be part of the celebration um and um |
4523s | um we just want to say that maybe when |
4526s | we turn 50 we do something else with you |
4529s | wizard of the Coast or maybe sooner yeah |
4532s | we'll probably be in retired home but |
4533s | we'll be glad to join the party uh so |
4536s | first uh Dagon in dead by daylight I |
4539s | have to be honest here uh the first time |
4541s | you told me about uh what's going to be |
4543s | uh coming next I was surprised because |
4546s | I'm a big RoR fan but when you think |
4548s | about RoR D dragon is not the first |
4550s | thing that comes to mind but thinking |
4552s | about it more I realized no wait there's |
4554s | a lot of Horror dungeon and dragon and |
4557s | Raven love being my favorite module uh |
4560s | so uh like you really specifically focus |
4563s | on certain element of the brand uh so |
4565s | please tell us about those pillars yeah |
4567s | so when we start a chapter we always uh |
4570s | have a Sandbox created so that we stay |
4572s | um you know around some specific pillars |
4575s | like you said um and of course when we |
4578s | think dungeon and Dragons the first |
4579s | thing that come to mind is a magical |
4582s | world a high fantasy magical creatures |
4585s | wh lizards magic um all sort of things |
4587s | that don't necessarily fit exactly well |
4590s | into a horror setting but because dndd |
4592s | is a world of imagination where we can |
4594s | create whatever we want there's also a |
4597s | way to make it happen so for us the |
4598s | first pillar was to make sure that we |
4599s | had a good J the position with fantasy |
4602s | so fully embracing that type of content |
4604s | but make it horrific as well and like |
4606s | you've seen in the trailer having a |
4608s | character like VNA made perfectly sense |
4611s | for that horror setting the second |
4613s | pillar is creative role playing so in |
4615s | the image of dungeon and dragon we |
4617s | wanted to make sure that players add a |
4618s | lot of agency a lot of choices um so |
4621s | that goes from uh an an amount of spells |
4624s | you can choose from in the power which |
4626s | we'll talk about later or even |
4628s | customization so a way you can you know |
4630s | kind of create your own character in |
4632s | some way uh we just wanted to make sure |
4635s | that we had a lot of gameplay choices uh |
4637s | in the dbd trials and the last pillar we |
4640s | worked with is chaos so that's actually |
4642s | one of our main pillar in dead by |
4644s | daylight um but you know a lot of what |
4646s | happens in Dungeon and dragon is based |
4648s | on Randomness you throw a dice and with |
4651s | you know critical success critical fails |
4653s | and everything in between you see the |
4655s | result and you adapt to it so we wanted |
4657s | to recreate that feeling inside the dead |
4659s | by daylight trials as well yeah dungeon |
4661s | dragon is really about exploring a |
4663s | fantasy world but also be Trill about |
4665s | what's going to be the monster you're |
4667s | going to meet the next time you open a |
4668s | door so let's talk about that killer |
4670s | you'll meet the next time you open the |
4672s | door so of course dungeon and Dragons |
4674s | has a lot of iconic monsters we could |
4676s | have chosen from a lot of iconic |
4678s | villains as well and with our friends at |
4680s | wizard of the coast we've established |
4682s | that our next killar would be VNA VNA is |
4684s | just a perfect fit uh for dead by |
4687s | daylight he's a lich so a powerful |
4689s | wizard that um turn himself into Undead |
4692s | to be able to continue his uh villainy |
4695s | is that even a word I'm not sure so uh |
4698s | he wanted to continue to do his horrible |
4700s | stuff uh for as long as he could VNA |
4703s | also has access to uh every spell in the |
4708s | books uh so that was very interesting |
4710s | for us to create an interesting |
4712s | power of course we also have a survivor |
4715s | in the chapter uh so The Bard um a very |
4719s | interesting class there's many many |
4721s | class that we' could have chosen from |
4723s | but The Bard was really the one that fit |
4726s | the most into our or setting you know |
4728s | for example when we think about a class |
4730s | like the Paladin um you think of the |
4733s | ability to turn the undead magical sword |
4736s | um big plated armors um and all of this |
4741s | doesn't fit really well into the world |
4742s | of dead by daylight The Bard with |
4745s | abilities like Bic inspiration the |
4746s | ability to sing to play musical |
4748s | instrument to know lore uh and even to |
4750s | insult the villain is just so on brand |
4754s | that it was a perfect fit so that's why |
4755s | we chose The Bard uh as you've seen in |
4758s | the image in the trailer we're doing |
4759s | something uh special with this Survivor |
4762s | um it's akin to what we've done with |
4764s | Legion so through the Cosmetic |
4767s | customization you'll be able to choose |
4769s | between two specific character inside |
4771s | the same Survivor so you'll have the |
4773s | choice between IC tree a female elf or |
4777s | barar a human male um yeah it's |
4782s | interesting but uh when I was younger |
4784s | playing uh dunge and dragon like in my |
4786s | friends group uh the part was not really |
4788s | a class that people tend to play true uh |
4791s | compared especially to other class that |
4793s | you had but through through all times |
4795s | like there's been many change in |
4797s | iteration on the class and has now |
4799s | become like such popular class to play |
4801s | uh really really fun now definitely and |
4804s | has become uh kind of a like an emblem |
4806s | to dungeon dragon as much as a red |
4808s | dragon now absolutely every party uh |
4811s | nowadays as a Bard uh and we've also |
4813s | seen a lot of Bard love uh into other |
4816s | content that dungeon and dragon produce |
4818s | like the movie for example yeah so we |
4820s | have an undead wizard we have a tradu do |
4822s | we have a new map absolutely we're super |
4825s | proud to have a full chapter for the |
4828s | anniversary and shocking no one uh the |
4831s | map is a |
4832s | dungeon uh absolutely so in the Borgo |
4836s | realm we have a new map with a new |
4838s | building uh so there is a top part set |
4840s | in The Marvelous new lighting of the |
4842s | Borgo realm um and you can find this uh |
4845s | isolated Tower in the middle you can go |
4847s | inside and go into an extensive dungeon |
4851s | underground uh packed with surprises and |
4853s | Easter egg related to to dungeon and |
4855s | Dragons um the goal with this map is |
4858s | that we've imagined that vcna knowing |
4860s | about different Realms and plane uh now |
4863s | trapped into the realm of the entity |
4865s | would find a place to make his own to |
4867s | make his home his lair um and so that he |
4870s | can study where he is the world The |
4873s | Entity and potentially find a way to |
4874s | escape maybe maybe not um we are also |
4878s | introducing a new gameplay mechanic in |
4880s | this map called passage um so these are |
4883s | basically doors magical doors which you |
4887s | can use to teleport from one area to the |
4889s | map to the next and we think it's going |
4891s | to add a new interesting spice to |
4895s | chases the map the Easter egg uh it's |
4899s | super fun like if you're a fan of |
4900s | dungeon and dragon uh just exploring |
4902s | you're going to be thrilled to see all |
4904s | the small and the big one uh on the |
4907s | gameplay side now for VNA so the way we |
4909s | tackle or approach the the the killer |
4912s | this time interestingly it comes from a |
4914s | game so he has game mechanic that are |
4917s | existent so we look at all like stats |
4919s | block and and try to come up with like |
4922s | the best spell that could be translated |
4924s | into game mechanic for for us and also |
4927s | make sure that the these will be like |
4930s | trading and exciting to use but then uh |
4933s | so Defy is a spellcaster a very powerful |
4936s | one so the goal was to make him uh feel |
4939s | as such uh in know game uh but like I |
4942s | was saying uh Magic it's something that |
4944s | we have never really tackle not not that |
4948s | way before uh something we try to uh |
4951s | stay away from like our powers are |
4953s | really visceral or like grounded as much |
4955s | as possible uh it's something that uh do |
4958s | you want to talk about a bit magic yeah |
4961s | yes please I hope uh some of our team |
4964s | colleagues are laughing right now |
4966s | they're uh I kind of have of a bad rep |
4968s | internally about magic uh it's almost a |
4971s | taboo word that we can't use uh but now |
4974s | making a dead a a DND chapter for sure |
4977s | we had to embrace magic and of course |
4980s | there is a space for magic in or games |
4983s | but it has to be taken with the right |
4985s | tone so in this case we're talking |
4987s | necromancy blood magic magic of the Dead |
4991s | um and there's a touch of realism uh and |
4993s | visceral that we wanted to add to to |
4996s | Magic uh versus something more flashy |
4999s | like a magic projectile or a fireball |
5001s | for example there's also something quite |
5003s | interesting out of dungeon and Dragons |
5005s | and these are the utility spells um |
5007s | they're spells that are not used to kill |
5010s | or damage but they're used in very |
5011s | creative ways and we wanted to uh |
5014s | highlight that with delich with VNA uh |
5017s | so that was our approach now do you want |
5019s | to talk to us about the spell that we |
5021s | actually chosen sure so you have access |
5023s | to four different type of spell uh |
5025s | pretty much any any time they have their |
5027s | own individual uh cool down uh but so |
5031s | the first one is called fly a very |
5033s | popular uh wellknown dungeon and dragon |
5035s | spell in in in all game it lift up the |
5038s | Killer and uh you're pushed forward um |
5041s | obviously faster so it's really like the |
5044s | traversal aspect of the power uh it |
5046s | lasts for a short amount of time and uh |
5048s | it it's going to also end if you Vault |
5051s | uh a pallet or a vault location and uh |
5055s | this is really useful to uh get uh |
5057s | closer to Survivor and uh get to the |
5061s | next gem as soon as possible the next |
5063s | one is called Flight of the dam which is |
5065s | it's not really a dungeon dragon spell |
5067s | it's more connected to uh vcna it's an |
5070s | actually an ability that he has uh what |
5073s | it does is that it cast four five sorry |
5076s | different uh individual uh projectile |
5079s | and then it shoots them in a cone radius |
5081s | effect in front of him uh these |
5083s | projectile pass through obstacles they |
5085s | don't go very far but if they hit the |
5087s | Survivor they get damage instantly um it |
5090s | might sound very powerful and easy to |
5093s | use but it's not the case uh Survivor |
5096s | have a lot of Contour but the spell can |
5098s | also be used to Zone uh in in in this |
5102s | aspect so you can also go for the the |
5104s | basic M1 attack during that time uh the |
5107s | third spell is called um dispelling |
5110s | sphere which is actually it's a |
5112s | combination of different uh existing |
5114s | dungeon dragon spell we just felt it was |
5116s | more compelling to combine them into one |
5120s | spell uh so what it does you cast a |
5122s | large sphere in front of you and that |
5124s | sphere moves slowly throughout the level |
5126s | Survivor do not see that sphere and uh |
5129s | if they get uh in contact with that |
5131s | sphere they get revealed for a few |
5133s | second by Killer Instinct and also have |
5135s | their magic items disable for a minute |
5138s | uh and the last but not least spell is |
5141s | Mage hand very well known uh dungeon and |
5145s | dragon spell what it does in dead by |
5147s | daylight you as the killer you can tag |
5149s | up a nearby pallet uh and if the pallet |
5153s | is upward it blocks the pallet for for a |
5154s | few second uh cannot be interacted by |
5157s | Survivor and if it's downward it's |
5159s | lifted up for you so you can fully pass |
5162s | without any uh obstacles uh so the idea |
5166s | with the scalar he has a lot of tools |
5168s | and tricks uh in his bag and it's really |
5170s | about managing all the force spells the |
5173s | cool down and try to uh activate them at |
5177s | the right moment uh so that's really how |
5179s | you're going to improve uh as a killer |
5181s | is learning how to use them at the right |
5183s | time and be efficient with them so lots |
5186s | of strategic and tactical um choices |
5189s | here correct so you've mentioned very |
5191s | quickly uh during um the dispel sphere |
5194s | the magical item did I yeah what's |
5197s | what's that okay uh so this is the new |
5199s | toy for Survivor uh it's it's called |
5202s | magic items but keep in mind it's not an |
5205s | actual items uh that they use so this |
5207s | time if you face VNA uh you're going to |
5210s | have a Survivor going to have seven |
5212s | different chest that's going to spawn to |
5214s | help deliver |
5215s | uh surviv go interact with those chests |
5217s | and while during the opening of the |
5219s | chest there's going to be a D20 dice |
5221s | roll yes it's doneen and dragon we |
5223s | couldn't do without the dice roll so |
5226s | this dice roll will determine the |
5227s | content of the chest so if Survivor roll |
5230s | from uh from two to four they get a |
5234s | basic um uh dead by daylight Brown item |
5238s | sry better than nothing yeah well maybe |
5240s | that brown medkit might save your life I |
5242s | don't know uh but the fun part is is |
5244s | when you roll from 5 to 19 that's when |
5247s | you get the magic items and the way it |
5249s | works is that each Survivor has an |
5252s | equipment slot a two equipment slot they |
5254s | have the bracers and the boots uh so |
5256s | there's two type of magic items and each |
5259s | magic item is going to be randomly link |
5261s | uh the first time you open the chest to |
5263s | ve one of the four vcna spells and uh |
5268s | once they are equipped uh each time the |
5270s | killer will cast the spell that is |
5272s | linked to one of your magic item you're |
5274s | going to gain a passive bonus uh to help |
5277s | out uh uh kind of uh avoid the spell or |
5281s | help you out against VNA in general so |
5284s | uh for to be more precise so if you have |
5286s | bracers against the fly spell you're |
5289s | going to see VNA Ora during the |
5292s | traveling that while use the the spell |
5294s | if you have a boots for example against |
5298s | the Flight of the dam you see the aura |
5300s | of the projectile very useful because |
5301s | the projectile goes through collision |
5303s | and the best way to use that that spell |
5305s | is through walls uh if you have magic |
5307s | items against the dispelling sphere |
5309s | survivors see the sphere so they can |
5311s | Juke and go around the the sphere as |
5314s | much as they can and if you have a |
5316s | counter against the Mage hand you see |
5319s | the aura of the hand on the pallet and |
5321s | also gain a little um a effect so that |
5326s | help you out around the the loop okay |
5329s | yeah so it's really important to uh |
5331s | search those chests yeah correct cuz uh |
5334s | the way that we we tackled this like the |
5337s | the balance in this case is that we made |
5339s | sure that the the magic items do not |
5341s | trunker the Killer's power it's it's |
5344s | made or balance uh to face Survivor who |
5347s | have them equipped so if you don't get |
5350s | those uh defitely the killer might feel |
5352s | a bit oppressive so it's really help to |
5354s | Survivor to get to those chests and uh |
5357s | equip them as soon as possible great and |
5359s | just to be clear you can also equip a |
5361s | normal item with that so you can have |
5362s | your flashlight bracer and Boots correct |
5364s | it's a very different uh slot so |
5367s | everybody heard you talk about a lot of |
5369s | numbers here on the dice but you've not |
5371s | mentioned the critical fail one and |
5373s | critical success on the 20 for people |
5375s | that uh don't play DND these are like |
5379s | events the best event that can happen in |
5380s | Dungeon and Dragons when you get that |
5382s | critical fail or that critical success |
5384s | so what happens in that by daylight when |
5386s | that happens yes so we have critical |
5388s | role in the game if you roll a one uh |
5391s | you get sorry a big nothing although |
5393s | I've heard sometimes people get a Green |
5395s | Key I guess |
5397s | luy uh but I know what you get if you |
5400s | roll a 20 so anyone who's familiar with |
5403s | vcna in the lore of dungeon and dragon |
5406s | there are two uh very specific artifact |
5409s | that exist that is called the I of VNA |
5411s | and the an of VNA and we introduce them |
5414s | in our game so you roll a 20 you get one |
5416s | of the two you never know uh but uh |
5419s | these Works more like a normal item so |
5422s | you have to pick them up and you them |
5424s | once it's called a tune so you merge |
5427s | with the items uh and then you unlock a |
5430s | very powerful ability up to like perk |
5433s | level uh yes it's very strong uh I guess |
5436s | you want to know please do say okay sure |
5439s | so if you attune with the eye of vcna uh |
5442s | they use with lockers so if you fast |
5445s | exit a locker you're going to be unseen |
5447s | unheard by the killer uh for 15 seconds |
5450s | and on top of that you gain a haste |
5452s | boost effect and if you attune with the |
5456s | end of VNA you fast enter a locker and |
5459s | you're going to be uh teleported further |
5461s | down uh fur the locker wow so uh very |
5464s | powerful uh I forgot a little details |
5467s | because they might sound super strong uh |
5470s | said like that but they come with a cost |
5473s | so to use them you have to be full |
5475s | health and once you use them you |
5477s | instantly lose a health State uh and |
5480s | also at the end of the effect you get |
5481s | revealed by caner instin so be be very |
5484s | mindful the way you use them because |
5487s | we've seen very a lot of situation where |
5489s | it backfire at the the Survivor and the |
5492s | the killer has uh definitely a spell to |
5495s | help him out get back at the at the |
5497s | Survivor and get the down it's very on |
5499s | brand with what a curse item should be |
5501s | indeed thank you so much janick um as |

5513s | the the killer per per or the Survivor |

5525s | survivors to do the full Melody there's |
5527s | also a dice roll mechanic uh for one of |

5721s | to be the right games for us to expand |
5723s | the world of De byday yeah absolutely uh |
5725s | there's uh there's a lot of stuff um |
5727s | going into that choice for sure so first |
5729s | of all we are super um happy to and |
5732s | grateful to have a community already |
5734s | there playing that by daylight so of |
5736s | course we listen to what they want to |
5739s | see what they want to play um so that |
5741s | comes into the recipe of the choice |
5743s | we're going to make um we also want to |
5745s | make sure that we will create something |
5747s | new to experience something that's |
5750s | completely out of what we are used to in |
5752s | dead by daylight so that comes into the |
5753s | genre we want to create um also we want |
5756s | to interest new players into the world |
5759s | of dead by daylight um some people that |
5761s | never heard of dead by daylight but also |
5763s | some uh viewers that are interested |
5766s | about the world of DVD but that don't |
5768s | play dbd because maybe it's not their |
5771s | style of game so we want also these |
5774s | player to be with us and experience the |
5776s | world of dead by daylight and just like |
5778s | you were saying with people being |
5779s | interested in the world of dead by |
5780s | daylight as the creative director why do |
5782s | you think there's so much interest in |
5784s | this in the lore of a multiplayer game |
5786s | that's based in action well it it's been |
5789s | very important uh for us since day one |
5791s | when we started working on this project |
5793s | um uh the the story and the narrative |
5796s | around everything we create we want to |
5798s | make sure that uh every little component |
5800s | in dbd as a as a story and a reason to |
5803s | live in the universe we take great care |
5806s | into making that happen so um you know |
5809s | there's a lot of mysteries within |
5810s | Mysteries a lot of layers to our |
5812s | narrative uh which |
5814s | I think are super interesting and |
5816s | players want to know more um so these |
5819s | games will allow us to discover these |
5821s | these elements that we've seated it in |
5823s | the past you know like every killer and |
5826s | every Survivor in dead by daylight could |
5827s | have their own movie or their own game |
5829s | really yeah they've got so much lore |
5831s | it's really amazing to just dive into |
5834s | and speaking of lore I mean this is |
5836s | something we want to expand on with the |
5838s | world of dead by daylight so we're doing |
5840s | that in one of our upcoming games the |
5842s | casting of Frank Stone so can you tell |
5843s | us AIT bit more about that uh right I I |
5846s | can tell you a little bit um um yes so |
5850s | of course there's a different type of T |
5852s | stories in games right there's uh |
5854s | there's games that have a static |
5855s | narrative that you experience that's |
5857s | great uh there's also games that the |
5860s | narrative is is made very organically by |
5862s | the players like dbd is a good example |
5864s | of that um the casting of frankstone |
5868s | is somewhere in between right it's a |
5871s | it's a game where there is U multiple |
5874s | narrative and based on the player choice |
5877s | uh and you know different things will |
5879s | happen and and um based on their choice |
5882s | different endings and different |
5883s | branching in the story will happen um so |
5886s | the casting of Frank stone is very |
5888s | interesting for us because it brings the |
5891s | origin uh of a killer and potentially |
5894s | survivors um and the players are able to |
5897s | play that um for the first time you know |
5900s | some things that we are used to see as a |
5902s | lore or a bio or a toone entry in DVD |
5905s | now will be playable it's still in the |
5908s | entity's universe it's still very much |
5910s | part of the world of DVD but it's going |
5912s | to be out of the trials so that's going |
5915s | to be an interesting uh take on our |
5917s | universe okay so we know that the |
5920s | casting frankstone is still in that that |
5922s | realm but what about our other project |
5924s | um this unnamed multiplayer PVE game is |
5928s | that also going to be taking place in |
5929s | the entity's realm absolutely so uh it |
5932s | it is in the world of the BD it is is in |
5934s | the entity and one one cool thing about |
5937s | the entity is that uh we know very |
5939s | little about exactly what it is but we |
5941s | do know that it's a living Universe it |
5944s | is uh it is huge and we can't really |
5946s | comprehend everything that's happening |
5948s | within it so we know that dbd trials are |
5952s | a way for the entity to feed um it's a |
5955s | very kind of organic process um so we |
5960s | can imagine that there are other parts |
5962s | in The Entity that serves other purposes |
5965s | and that's is exactly what we want to |
5967s | explore uh so that allows us to create |
5970s | new narrative new ways to experience a |
5973s | game New Way new you know gameplay |
5976s | opportunity uh new set of rules so these |
5980s | are thing that we talked about in the |
5981s | past um and that we always wanted to uh |
5984s | explore so that's exactly what we want |
5986s | to do with with this uh new Untitled |
5988s | game so in a way the world of dbd that |
5991s | we've created is like um a a book with |
5994s | infinite Pages we can add new stories to |
5996s | it forever hopefully just keep on |

6518s | masquerade is back it happens every year |

6524s | have you cooked up this year so this |
6526s | year we' got some amazing stuff honestly |
6528s | I think it's our best anniversary event |
6530s | yet but before we get to it we have what |
6533s | call before the Masquerade so that is |
6536s | going to be something that actually |
6537s | starts right after this Stream So for |
6538s | everyone who's watching once this is |
6540s | over |
6541s | go play and we've got lots of really |
6545s | cool stuff to as a big thank you to all |
6546s | of the players it's really stuff from |
6548s | all of dbd's history and includes a lot |

6616s | a Blood Feast so three times the blood |
6620s | points during week two we are going to |

6624s | three times the rift fragments so if you |
6626s | want to progress towards the rift this |
6627s | is a very good chance to do it then |
6630s | during week three we've got three times |
6632s | the XP so again if you want to progress |
6635s | to the rift this is also good but this |
6636s | is a really good chance to earn some |
6638s | iridescent shards damn and then after |
6641s | DND D releases the last week and a half |
6644s | we'll be doing double XP and double |
6646s | blood points right oh we're doubling |
6648s | down yeah yeah so everyone can play the |
6650s | new chapter they can get hyped for the |
6652s | masquerade they can NAB some of the |
6654s | older anniversary charms as well is that |
6656s | true exactly so we want to give people a |
6658s | chance who haven't earned them during |
6659s | previous years you know to celebrate the |
6662s | buildup to the event Itself by earning |
6664s | you know like some really cool |
6665s | masquerade crows or things like that |
6668s | awesome okay so what about the event |
6670s | itself so the event itself now that |
6672s | we've tackled before the Masquerade the |
6675s | big new thing that is coming for this |
6677s | year's Twisted masquerade is the reveal |
6679s | of the host of The Masquerade tricks |
6682s | herself |
6684s | so players might have seen her hinted at |
6686s | during previous anniversary events or |
6688s | during out in outfit descriptions |
6690s | referenced as the Mad designer or zizzle |
6692s | tricks so she's finally making her |
6694s | appearance and throughout all of the |
6697s | event we want to make it very clear like |
6698s | this is her party she's everywhere she's |
6701s | the entity's biggest fan celebrating |
6704s | holding this party in its honor and |
6706s | she's not a playable character so we |
6708s | want to make that very clear she is |
6710s | there pushing everybody to engage and |
6712s | celebrate great I love that so does this |
6715s | mean we're going to see a lot more of |
6716s | her in the Twisted masquerade absolutely |
6719s | so we have a lot of the UI that is |
6722s | themed you might have seen some last |
6723s | year so we've done a lot of updating for |
6725s | that we've got father Campbell's Chapel |
6728s | coming back with the whole party taking |
6729s | place inside some updated content in |
6732s | there to show that the party is |
6734s | progressing or dying slightly might find |
6737s | some |
6738s | corpses then addition to all that stuff |
6740s | really permeating the game we've got the |
6742s | lobby the Lo loading screens she's going |
6743s | to appear in Trials you will hear her |
6746s | laughing at you or cheering you on |
6748s | around the exit gates there's really |
6750s | voice lines that's going to appear |
6752s | everywhere really accentuating the |
6754s | gameplay it's going to be amazing like |
6756s | we we loved hearing all the voice lines |
6758s | that we have had recorded for this with |
6761s | all that stuff like we got a lot of |
6763s | really cool gameplay that I'm going to |
6764s | talk about in just a second but one |
6766s | thing I wanted to mention is that all of |
6768s | our event gameplay now is going to take |
6770s | place within a separate event queue so |
6773s | if you want some of the the normal dbd |
6776s | like in the core mode you can have that |
6779s | but if you want the event stuff go over |
6780s | to the really cool event queue and take |
6782s | part of trix's you know Twisted |
6784s | masquerade and I I have to say as well |
6786s | if you go to the core mode it's still |
6788s | going to have a lot of the decorations |
6789s | so you get the vibe with the core |
6791s | experience and that's a really good |
6794s | quality of life improvement over last |
6795s | year right like giving players that |
6797s | option to choose you if they want to |
6800s | just do classic dead by daylight they |
6802s | can with some extra flare on it m or |
6804s | they can choose the uh the event queue |
6806s | that's a nice nice Improvement so uh you |
6808s | mentioned it so what are some of the |
6810s | gameplay changes that are coming with |
6811s | tricks so tricks is bringing what we |
6814s | call her bag of tricks to the party she |
6816s | wants to spice things up she wants |
6818s | everyone to have a lot of fun so what |
6820s | we've got is that as a match progresses |
6822s | one of a series of abilities or sorry a |
6825s | one of a tricks is going to be played on |
6828s | our players and these are going to be |
6830s | things like giving everybody haste |
6832s | giving people undetected spawning |
6833s | anniversary special chests or totems |
6836s | some really cool stuff that's going to |
6837s | spice it up and this is going to happen |
6840s | um Whenever two points are accumulated |
6843s | during a match so at first I'd say one |
6845s | tricks actually takes place at the match |
6847s | start following that whenever two points |
6850s | are accumulated from you know doing a |
6852s | gen first hook things like that each |
6855s | which each gives one point that is then |
6857s | going to trigger another tricks to |
6858s | maximum of five during a match so like |
6861s | we want to really keep things |
6862s | interesting and when a Trix is actually |
6865s | activated you're going to see Trix |
6867s | herself appear alongside or take the |
6869s | spot of one of the dancing marionettes |
6872s | she's going to even deliver a line that |
6874s | hints at what has been played so if |
6875s | you're not paying attention know she's |
6877s | going to give you this really cool audio |
6879s | que that's awesome and so in addition to |
6882s | all of that I think we're also doing |
6884s | some sort of update for the invitation |
6886s | mechanic yeah absolutely so the |
6888s | invitations last year we had players run |
6891s | around gather those and you could either |
6892s | spend it to use an ability while inside |
6894s | a Chase or escape with it to help you |
6897s | earn a mask this year there's no need to |
6900s | escape with it to earn a mask that's a |
6901s | different thing and we've even added |
6904s | outside of Chase abilities to the |
6906s | invitation so if you're someone who |
6907s | doesn't necessarily want always be |
6909s | chased by a killer or wants to have a |
6911s | more diverse use for it we've added that |
6913s | so survivors can now go into quiet mode |
6916s | so making a lot less noise and can even |
6918s | do things like quickly enter a locker |
6920s | without alerting the Killer it's super |
6923s | useful to get out of that chase right |
6924s | away that's fantastic um or if they're |
6927s | nearby and you don't want to alert them |
6929s | for killers they can now use an |
6931s | invitation to immediately send a down |
6933s | Survivor to a nearby hook and as I can |
6936s | say from play tests it's really fun I |
6938s | think the community is going to love |
6940s | that can't wait for them to play but uh |
6942s | also I think there's challenges we've |
6945s | added so you can earn masks right yeah |
6948s | exactly so this year all earning all of |
6951s | the masks is going to be related to |
6952s | engaging with event challenges and |
6953s | earning event currency so all of them |
6956s | are going to be earned like this that's |
6957s | going to be how you earn most of the |
6959s | rewards um and past masks and outfits |
6963s | that were earnable or in the store last |
6964s | year are also coming back so if someone |
6967s | was not able to get those during |
6969s | previous years those are all now going |
6971s | to be available inside the store for the |
6972s | duration of the event and I have to say |
6975s | that we have also a licensed guest |
6977s | showing a mask this year a Mr detective |
6979s | tap amazing amazing that's so cool |
6983s | look at those masks those are fantastic |
6984s | there they are heck yes fantastic good |
6988s | Lord um so it wouldn't be a party |
6990s | without lots of rewards what can you |
6992s | tell us about the event toome so we've |
6994s | got a few Staples that are coming back |
6996s | that we've done and seen huge success |
6998s | with in the past for the event to one is |

7003s | people love to play together to towards |
7005s | earning things so we've got a lot of |
7007s | those so if people engage with the event |
7009s | work towards those targets hit their own |
7011s | Milestones you know I think they're |
7013s | going to earn some really pretty cool |

7017s | really interesting lore about the |
7019s | Observer discovering trix's world so if |
7021s | you want to know a little bit more about |
7023s | her play those challenges earn that |
7026s | lore then we've got some really cool |
7028s | stuff I have to say the Twisted mask |
7030s | grade is one of our favorite collections |
7032s | to work on every single year as soon as |
7034s | the art team's Concepts hit the table or |
7037s | I guess the mon screen these days um |
7040s | we're like enamored with them we love on |
7042s | this collection so this year we've got |
7045s | two new 100% earnable outfits that you |
7048s | can earn through the event we have one |
7050s | for Bill overbeck another licensed guest |
7053s | making his appearance in the Masquerade |
7055s | and one for the unknown who is maybe |
7058s | trying to blend in a little bit at the |
7059s | party successfully in addition to all |
7062s | that really cool stuff we've got some |
7064s | tricks themed charms and player cards |
7066s | that people can earn now obviously with |
7070s | Taps mask making an appearance as a |
7071s | reward there's someone who accompanies |
7073s | him so if people check out the in-game |
7076s | store during the Twisted mask raid |

7080s | event themed outfit for the pig yeah |
7082s | there is huge fans of this I mean it's |
7086s | it's got so many touches from the saw |
7087s | franchise in there I think it's amazing |
