2417s | Daylight's year n road map I'm going to |
2419s | take a second here at the top of the |
2421s | show to give a big big shout out to our |
2423s | absolutely phenomenal team that's |
2425s | working on the game day in day out they |
2427s | are the reason we are here with you |
2429s | today and celebrate eight amazing years |
2431s | of dead by daylight before going any |
2434s | further I just want to address something |
2435s | that's probably going to get talked |
2436s | about quite a bit in in the chats across |
2438s | different uh the different channels uh |
2441s | we know since the last uh the last |
2442s | update there's been a rubber bending |
2444s | issue that's been pling the game the |
2445s | team has been working extremely hard at |
2447s | it over the last few few weeks we have a |
2450s | tentative fix that the team has been |
2452s | working on that we're hoping to test on |
2453s | the ptb later today if everything is |
2456s | successful with that we will be de that |
2458s | fixed alive and hopefully it should |
2459s | improve the situation but still to be |
2461s | confirmed so keep up uh keep keep an eye |
2464s | on our channels for that we'll keep you |
2465s | all posted about this moving into the |
2469s | future a little bit the coming year for |
2471s | dead by daylight is going to be huge and |
2473s | that's saying something coming off of |
2474s | our biggest year to date since the last |
2478s | anniversary we have released amazing |
2480s | licensed content such as alien Chucky |
2483s | Alan Wake and a personal favorite of |
2485s | mine Nick Cage such an amazing Edition |
2488s | to the game on top of that we've also |
2490s | released our most popular original |
2492s | chapter to date all things Wicked of |
2494s | course and we can't forget we did the |
2496s | Halloween event which was bigger and |
2497s | better than ever with the introduction |
2499s | of the Void this year we introduced the |
2501s | concept of modifiers in dead by daylight |
2503s | starting in February uh lights out we |
2506s | followed it with my little Onie and soon |
2508s | later this week we'll introduce chaos |
2509s | Shuffle the third one we took a few |
2511s | steps towards improving the player |
2513s | experience uh between anti-ace Camp |
2516s | blood web ux improvements uh the killer |
2518s | fov slider Survivor DC Bots and even the |
2522s | search bar uh so there's a lot there uh |
2525s | and finally we've taken a few big steps |
2527s | towards increasing our transparency our |
2529s | communication with regular live streams |
2532s | on each of our content releases thus far |
2535s | and of talking about the past let's dive |
2537s | into the future and what's really coming |
2539s | up for this year we're happy to announce |
2541s | today that we have six new chapters |
2543s | currently in the works and two of those |
2545s | chapters will be Survivor only chapters |
2547s | for this year on top of that we'll have |
2550s | the usual four new Toms that are going |
2551s | to be coming out spread throughout the |
2553s | year as we've talked a little bit and |
2555s | teased even earlier last week the first |
2558s | chapter that's going to be coming out is |
2559s | Dungeons and Dragons and we're actually |
2562s | going to Deep dive that in a soon to |
2564s | come segment right uh shortly after this |
2567s | uh this one and it really promises to |
2568s | bring great gameplay and new characters |
2570s | to the world of dead by light of course |
2573s | we're going to follow that with a |
2574s | licensed Survivor a character who truly |
2576s | embodies the meaning of that word after |
2578s | that an iconic killer survivor duel will |
2580s | be coming into the fog and if you stick |
2582s | around to the end of the show you're |
2583s | going to get a little uh preview as to |
2585s | what that will be we'll finish off 2024 |
2588s | with an original killer and Survivor |
2590s | chapter and we'll finish off the year n |
2592s | road map with a licensed killer only |
2595s | chapter followed by an original Survivor |
2597s | only it's a lot of stuff coming up |
2600s | moving a bit away from our content road |

2605s | at the four pillars out of which the the |
2607s | the year will be uh based on for those |
2610s | of you who have been with us for a long |
2611s | time you'll see that there's consistency |
2613s | throughout the years with the four |
2614s | pillars that we're focusing on but we're |
2616s | really adjusting the contents of each so |
2618s | that we're working on the features that |
2620s | have the most value and the most |
2622s | interest to all of our players in ways |
2624s | where we can expand the game further and |
2625s | further of course and we're going to |
2627s | start off with the trust and security |
2628s | pillar firstly we're thrilled with the |
2631s | response to our regular broadcasts uh |
2634s | and we're really happy to let you know |
2635s | you can fully expect more to come as we |
2638s | progress uh throughout the year |
2640s | accompanying all of our major releases |
2642s | security is a topic we rarely talk about |
2645s | publicly uh for good reason uh but one |
2647s | thing I will inform you all of is last |
2650s | year we set out to start tackling this |
2651s | AFK Bots problem that we see especially |
2654s | in some regions of the game phase one |
2656s | had very promising results and we're |
2658s | certainly going to be uh taking that |
2660s | forward another step into phase two in |
2662s | the coming year our next two pillars |
2664s | live balance and quality of life we |
2666s | won't discuss too much of course you can |
2668s | expect regular live balance updates |
2669s | throughout the year and new quality of |
2671s | life but my friend and colleague Derek |
2673s | will be coming up in the gameplay |
2674s | Improvement segment to cover more on |
2676s | that topic including uh an announcement |
2679s | on one of the most highly requested |
2681s | features ever in dead by daylight this |
2682s | one's going to be really really exciting |

2706s | separate matchmaking queue which |
2708s | essentially means that at any time |
2709s | there's an event ongoing you can decide |
2711s | to still play normal dead by daylight if |
2712s | that's what you're looking for but you |
2714s | can also go into the event specific |
2715s | queue and play some of that gam playay |
2718s | this is really going to allow us to push |
2720s | gameplay further and further away from |
2721s | the typical way that by daylight |
2723s | normally works and it's going to be a |
2725s | very interesting way for us to approach |
2727s | events a different way on top of that we |
2730s | can also expect more modifiers to make |
2732s | it in the game whether it's the one |
2734s | we've talked about just before that are |
2736s | going to be re Revisited throughout the |
2737s | year or interest uh in introducing new |
2740s | modifiers that are either tweaks on |
2743s | something or something completely |
2744s | different but modifiers is just a little |
2746s | sliver of what we're planning to do this |
2748s | year and I think we have something a |
2749s | little bigger that might be coming up |
2751s | absolutely and that's why I'm so happy |
2753s | to be here and let you guys know that |
2755s | for the first time ever this summer dead |
2757s | by daylight will have a new mode not |
2759s | modifier but a mode coming to you all |
2763s | we've been listening and hearing your |
2765s | feedback and I'm really happy to let you |
2767s | know that this summer replacing |
2768s | scorching barbecue will be the first |
2770s | ever time limited 2v eight mode in dead |
2773s | by daylight we'll be doing a full |
2775s | breakdown of what this mode is when we |
2776s | get closer to the release but for now |
2779s | I'm going to thank my friend Stefan for |
2780s | joining me invite my friend Matt to the |
2783s | couch to talk a little bit more about |
2784s | this and here's a snippet of what's to |

2832s | to be really fun to sort of let the |
2833s | community in on some of our plans for |
2835s | this upcoming 2v eight introduction |
2837s | absolutely thanks Justin so yeah 2v |
2841s | eight is coming to dbd this is a new |
2843s | game mode which is really cool other |
2845s | gameplay events that we've done before |
2847s | so lights out my little Oni soon chaos |
2851s | Shuffle these are what we're calling |
2852s | modifiers and modifiers basically take a |
2855s | dbd match change a few things but |
2858s | ultimately you're still playing dbd with |
2861s | this new game mode 2 V8 we're |
2863s | fundamentally changing the way that you |
2865s | play dead by daylight in this particular |
2868s | case there's two killers eight survivors |
2871s | and a bunch of new changes that we're |
2873s | going to get into very |
2875s | shortly the focus with TV8 we really |
2878s | wanted to hone in on what's exciting and |
2881s | fun and chaotic with dbd and we're |
2884s | leaning more into a party mode kind of |
2887s | vibe rather than something that's super |
2890s | competitive it's also worth mentioning |
2892s | that the way that we're building this |
2894s | it's an iterative process right and this |
2897s | is just the first iteration so we'll be |
2899s | looking to add more content more |
2901s | gameplay in the future based on |
2903s | community |
2904s | feedback absolutely and I'm super |
2906s | excited to see what everybody says about |
2908s | this mode when it comes out so first |
2910s | let's break down a few of the key |
2911s | changes that we know are going to be |
2913s | coming for 2v eight this summer I mean |
2915s | of course there's still generators |
2916s | there's still exit gates there's just |
2917s | more of them uh We've made five Maps |
2920s | bigger to accommodate all of the action |
2921s | all of the chaos uh and we're also doing |
2924s | way with perks in this mode instead |
2926s | introducing a new sort of 2v eight |
2928s | exclusive system called classes for |
2930s | survivors that's right yeah so when it |
2933s | comes to survivors basically once you've |
2935s | chosen your character you can select and |
2938s | equip a player class and this class is |
2941s | effectively your power for the match and |
2943s | it helps players identify what your role |
2945s | is within the |
2946s | team so instead of mixing and matching |
2949s | perks instead we really wanted to focus |
2952s | on a particular play style for this and |
2956s | uh whether it's generator repair healing |
2959s | uh looping speed that kind of thing |
2961s | that's what we're really going for with |
2963s | these classes of course and there's also |
2965s | just cowering in the corner which is my |
2966s | own preferred play style for Survivor uh |
2969s | which is great uh and it'll work a |
2970s | little differently for Killers uh you'll |
2972s | be able to choose from one of the five |
2974s | original Killers each with their own |
2976s | specific gameplay Killers obviously have |
2978s | powers so they don't have classes in |
2980s | this mode but we will be introducing a |
2982s | new mechanic which is a team power for |
2984s | example if you are The Wraith when you |
2987s | cloak yourself if your teammate is |
2988s | within a certain radius of you uh they |
2991s | will also get the undetectable status |
2992s | effect allowing you to coordinate a sort |
2994s | of Team stealth attack should make for |
2996s | some entertainment |
2997s | uh the reason that we're focusing on the |
2999s | five original Killers is just to make |
3000s | sure that this is as accessible as |
3002s | possible they're all free everybody can |
3004s | play them everybody can have fun we want |
3006s | you to enjoy the content and give us |
3008s | your feedback and in my opinion the best |
3010s | part of this whole mode is the two it's |
3013s | the the first time ever that success and |
3015s | failure as a killer does not rely solely |
3017s | on your shoulders you have a teammate to |
3019s | sort of benefit from learn from or even |
3022s | you know blame uh when things go poorly |
3024s | so working together is just going to |
3026s | make the match so much more fun so much |
3027s | more efficient absolutely uh lastly it's |
3030s | worth mentioning that uh for this mod we |
3033s | really wanted to keep the action pace |
3034s | and the momentum flowing uh during our |
3038s | play test uh we found that the process |
3040s | of Downing a Survivor picking them up |
3042s | carrying them to the hook it really |
3044s | started to slow things down for this |
3046s | mode in particular so we're doing away |
3048s | with hooks as well there's no hooks in |
3050s | 2va instead once a killer Downs a |
3053s | Survivor they'll be able to send them to |
3055s | a cage this works very similar to |
3057s | Pyramid Head it will teleport the |
3059s | Survivor to another part of the map away |
3061s | from the killers and of course this |
3063s | still counts as hook States so once |
3066s | you've been hooked three times you'll be |
3068s | out of the |
3069s | match and as Justin said before there |
3072s | will be five original Killers coming to |
3074s | this iteration of this game mode but we |
3077s | will be looking to add more as we |
3079s | iterate on it and add more to it uh of |
3082s | course we'll also be uh improving the |
3084s | game as it goes along so content uh will |
3087s | be coming in as well as updates to |
3090s | classes and gameplay awesome thank you |

3177s | why we're not just flipping the switch |
3178s | and making it Perman permanent all of a |
3180s | sudden you need to actually get the mode |
3181s | where we want it but we're using the |
3183s | word mode which means a lot so pay |
3185s | attention uh and speaking of paying |
3187s | attention uh the website that's that's a |
3190s | transition that doesn't make any sense |
3192s | but the website for what the fog uh has |
3194s | been overwhelmed by demand uh as as |
3197s | predicted people love that cute little |
3199s | game uh so we're working on it stay |
3201s | tuned don't worry we have lots and lots |
3203s | of keys uh for it so uh just as soon as |
3207s | we're able to tell you it's back up |

3236s | doing that again yeah yeah so this pack |
3238s | is actually going to pick up exactly |
3239s | where the left last one left off which |
3241s | is going to be the endless hunt pack um |
3244s | and in this pack um you're going to get |
3246s | nine playable characters um starting |
3248s | with portrait of murder roots of dread |
3251s | uh Forge in the fog and tools of torment |
3253s | and along with these this pack is going |
3255s | to be all the additional outfits and DLC |
3257s | exclusive items um but of course if you |
3259s | don't want to get the pack they will be |
3261s | individually marked down in the in-game |
3263s | store so you can get them there yes so |
3266s | that endless hunt pack is actually |
3267s | available right now it is the best way |

3323s | even better after this segment when we |
3324s | hear what you get to say um so so I |
3327s | already know what you've got to say but |
3328s | I think people are going to be excited |
3329s | to hear about it the upcoming challenge |
3332s | system this isn't something we've told |
3334s | people about why don't you tell them |
3335s | about it right now how is it going to |
3336s | benefit our players so we really wanted |
3339s | to deliver new in-game challenges to |
3341s | players and new ways for them to be |
3342s | constantly rewarded outside of just Toms |
3344s | and archives so we're going to be |
3346s | introducing a new challenge system which |
3349s | is a system of challenges hence the name |
3351s | perfect that players are going to be |
3353s | able to complete completely passively |
3355s | that means that players don't need to |
3357s | actively select the Challenge that they |
3358s | want to complete and they can complete |
3360s | multiple of them at the same time |
3362s | initially we're going to start with |
3364s | daily challenges weekly challenges and |
3366s | event challenges and later on we want to |
3369s | expand those into other parts of the |
3370s | game as well we think that this is going |
3372s | to be a great way for players to be |
3374s | constantly rewarded just for logging in |
3375s | and playing DVD and it's going to be an |
3377s | amazing experience for everybody I think |
3379s | that's a really great addition I think |
3380s | people in the community are going to |
3382s | really appreciate just being rewarded |
3384s | for doing what they already do uh not |
3386s | having to go out and seek it but just |
3387s | it's it's happening in the background at |
3389s | all times that's really great um so |
3392s | another great thing that we're adding |
3394s | actually is how we talk to our players |
3397s | um that's the main job of my team is |
3399s | talking and listening to our players uh |
3401s | but we do it out in the world we do it |
3402s | on social media we do it on Tik Tok and |
3404s | Twitter and other places uh but ingame |
3407s | is obviously the best place to talk to |
3408s | people and you've got some updates there |
3410s | yeah we're here to make the player lives |
3412s | easier and your life easier as well so |
3414s | we're going to be introducing a new |
3415s | inbox base system that will help connect |
3417s | players with the news that you have to |
3419s | announce including patch notes |
3421s | announcements rewards and a lot more |
3424s | that way players will see less popups |
3426s | when they launched into the game and |
3428s | they'll be able to get into their games |
3429s | quicker and overall the players will be |
3433s | able to stay connected with the world of |
3434s | DVD and the news that you have to |
3435s | announce yeah and it gives us new tools |
3437s | right like being able to tell people the |
3439s | the patch notes in detail is something |
3440s | we couldn't do before and now we can so |
3443s | again you don't have to go find it on |
3444s | the web you'll be able to get it in the |
3445s | game pop-ups not popups but |
3448s | notifications for rewards as well is |
3450s | another great Improvement so really good |
3452s | work there by the team uh but we're not |
3455s | done uh actually this is something |
3456s | people are familiar with the finisher |
3458s | Mory system we tested it out a while |
3460s | back in ptb got a ton of great feedback |
3462s | from the community uh the team took that |
3464s | feedback went back to the shop to Tinker |
3466s | with it and we've got the final version |
3468s | to tell people about now right I love |
3470s | finishing moris I think they're a really |
3472s | amazing showcase for how deadly and |
3474s | gruesome our Killers can be but we also |
3476s | acknowledge that there was some room for |
3477s | improvement from the survivors |
3478s | perspective so like you said we've taken |
3480s | the feedback we've reiterated on it and |
3482s | tried to land on what was the best |
3484s | player experience so in a coming update |
3487s | finisher mories are going to become a |
3489s | baseline feature for all killers in the |
3490s | game that means that killers are going |
3492s | to have access to the killer finisher |
3494s | moris by default but they're only going |
3496s | to be able to use them on the last |
3498s | remaining Survivor that way if the |
3501s | Killer is able to successfully pull it |
3503s | off we get an exciting conclusion to the |
3505s | match and the Survivor can feel that the |
3507s | games ended in a fair way and the mve |
3509s | went and this match went smoothly and it |
3512s | was a really exciting experience for |
3514s | everybody more offerings are also going |
3516s | to be updated to instead give bonus |
3518s | blood points so that it'll be a more |
3521s | rewarding experience for Killers if |
3522s | they're able to pull it off so the |
3524s | Killer is going to want to land that at |
3525s | the end it happens at the end like you |
3527s | said so we're not killing the flow of |
3528s | the match I think it's a really great |
3530s | balance from where we started and the |
3532s | feedback that we got so kudos to you and |
3534s | the team MH and that's all we've got |

3859s | I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons |
3861s | since I'm what 10 years old and it's an |
3864s | absolute dream come true so thank you so |

3872s | realizing that he works at westers of |
3873s | the coast job so we're we're super alied |
3876s | on that so dungeons dragons is probably |
3881s | one of the the biggest gateways that |
3883s | people have had to how to craft stories |
3886s | how to design games how to create |
3888s | experiences for other people uh we've |
3891s | seen it of course within the dev team |
3893s | there's so many people who've got their |
3894s | first taste of design games through |
3896s | Dungeons and Dragons have you seen this |
3899s | to be true with uh other developers that |
3901s | you worked with oh absolutely yeah I |
3904s | always say it's the the easiest thing |
3906s | about my job is I never have to teach |
3907s | people what DND is or what the brand is |
3909s | about because when I'm working with the |
3912s | developer there's I guarantee you the |
3914s | person that I'm talking to has played |
3916s | and everybody on their team has played |
3917s | or at the very least is like very aware |
3919s | of what the game is and what it entails |
3920s | it makes it makes my job very very easy |
3922s | um you know I I I always joke around D |
3924s | andd is kind of this like the building |
3926s | block or like the connective tissue |
3928s | between game designers you can be at a |
3930s | gaming convention and you're talking to |
3932s | other developers and if you have nothing |
3933s | else in common just start talking about |
3935s | D andd yeah it's true it's kind of a |
3936s | Common Language there's so many common |
3938s | references there uh yeah for me |
3941s | personally like I said it's a dream come |
3943s | true I still play Dungeons and Dragons |
3945s | every week with my group of friends I'm |
3947s | the forever DM in that group and uh I |
3951s | know that there are a couple of other |
3952s | people on my team who were absolutely |
3954s | thrilled to be a part of this |
3957s | what made it made sense for Wizard of |
3959s | the coast to enter into this |
3962s | collaboration uh that's a great question |
3965s | uh I think that exploring horror is |
3967s | always something that's really really |
3969s | interested us um Dungeons and Dragons |
3972s | has dipped its toes in in in horror |
3974s | before you know we've got modules like |
3976s | curse of strad we've got um a lot of um |
3979s | different horror elements we've brought |
3981s | together in some of our monsters um |
3983s | obviously characters like vcna have have |
3985s | been super horror driven so when the |
3988s | idea popped up on our radar hey you know |
3990s | uh what do you think about working |
3992s | together with behavior on a dead by |
3994s | daylight module um it like the light |
3996s | turned on instantly I don't think |
3998s | anybody was qu there were no question |
4000s | marks it was mostly just exclamation |
4001s | points it's like how how do we do this |
4003s | the best right like let's find the |
4004s | coolest character let's find the coolest |
4006s | setting let's let's really make this uh |
4008s | a true sort of celebration of D and D |
4011s | inside of dead by daylight and make it a |
4013s | way that feels super native to that game |
4016s | yeah and and you mentioned horror I mean |
4018s | I know a lot of people will probably |
4020s | think that their first thought when they |
4022s | think of Dungeons and Dragons is not |
4023s | necessarily horror but there is quite a |
4026s | lot of potential for Horror in there I |
4028s | mean it is a very flexible medium to |
4030s | tell stories and horror stories are some |
4032s | of the stories that will provoke the |
4035s | most intense emotions and reactions in |
4037s | players so for us it it it made sense |
4040s | yes yeah I'm I'm I'm also slightly in |
4043s | the forever dungeon master box that you |
4045s | are uh I try to inject a little bit of |
4047s | horror into all the campaigns that I run |
4049s | I think that it's just a great tool to |
4051s | use to tell stories if your players |
4053s | never get scared right there's you're |
4055s | probably doing something a little bit |
4056s | wrong um and like you mentioned Dungeons |
4058s | and Dragons is just a really flexible |
4061s | system for telling stories at the end of |
4062s | the day the players and the dungeon |
4064s | Masters you're not fighting each other |
4065s | you're just there telling a |
4066s | collaborative story about what happens |
4068s | and horror is just a great tool to |
4070s | include in that box of Storytelling um |
4072s | it's yeah it's it's D and D hasn't |
4075s | always beeny we are a horror game but |
4078s | the tools are there if you want to do it |
4079s | and I think some of the best |
4080s | storytellers out there definitely |
4082s | Implement those tools yeah yeah there |
4084s | are many examples out there now uh why |
4088s | vcna I mean we've seen it in the trailer |
4089s | he is an absolutely terrifying presence |
4093s | I think that whether you're a Survivor |
4094s | or a killer and you play with vcna in |
4097s | that game it's going to be a really |
4099s | really intense experience so tell me a |
4101s | little bit why VNA and why it makes |
4104s | sense uh for me the main reason that |
4108s | vcna was very clearly like on the top of |
4110s | the podium the entire time we were |
4111s | discussing potential Killers is that VNA |
4114s | has always had this horror movie monster |
4119s | vibe to him I mean as a lich he's always |
4121s | had the ability to you can even kill him |
4123s | and he just pops back up and will come |
4124s | back it might not be tomorrow yeah might |
4126s | be a couple years in the future but like |
4127s | VNA is always gonna come back uh he just |
4130s | has this real inevitability to him right |
4133s | you you know it's and the thing about D |
4135s | and D is very quickly in a d andd |
4137s | setting your party becomes a group of |
4139s | powerful adventurers right you're you're |
4141s | defeating all these other monsters that |
4143s | you know like dragons and stuff and then |
4145s | VNA shows up and you're like oh we need |
4146s | to run away vna's here like he's he's |
4148s | such a scary inevitable threat in the |
4151s | universe that even his earliest |
4153s | appearances were just items with his |
4155s | name on them and everybody was wondering |
4156s | oh who's who's this guy VNA that's got |

4176s | flavor and he is he has been part of the |
4180s | Dungeons and Dragons Universe for almost |
4182s | 50 years now right he was there at the |
4184s | very very beginning like you said as |
4186s | Whispers as just a note in there but he |
4189s | does have a stat block and and reading |
4190s | it is is all it's not ridiculous but |
4193s | it's it's so much power in those pages |
4197s | like you understand that he is like you |
4200s | said inevitable but also he is able to |
4203s | scare a party of level 15 adventurers |
4207s | who are technically almost Unstoppable |
4210s | by that point right right yeah it's it's |
4213s | kind of fun it's it it's it's always |
4216s | like I've lost quite a few player |
4218s | characters myself to VNA and you know EV |
4221s | of Ruin we've got the new book coming |
4222s | out and as soon as you see VNA EV of |
4224s | Ruin I was like oh looks like I'm going |
4225s | to lose a couple more but that's part of |
4228s | the fun that's writing stories with your |
4230s | friends so before we let uh jenck and |
4233s | Dave take us through the the details of |
4236s | how we implemented vcna with the |
4238s | gameplay mechanics of dead by daylight |
4240s | how we presented him to our players uh I |
4243s | wondering if you have a message for the |
4245s | hardcore DND fans out there who may not |
4247s | be familiar with dead by |
4250s | daylight yeah I I I do actually and it's |
4253s | uh try this chapter out even if you |
4255s | don't play it like watch somebody stream |
4257s | it because this uh this chapter it's a |
4260s | love letter to Dungeons and Dragons from |
4262s | a very passionate and very talented team |
4264s | of developers of behavior it was super |
4267s | obvious throughout the entire process |
4268s | that you know from the sound design work |
4271s | to the animations and the modeling and |
4273s | like even like yeah it's I I can't |
4275s | stress enough how easy it made the |
4277s | approvals process on our end that all of |
4280s | this work came in very obviously driven |

4384s | one of the most requested features every |
4386s | single stream every single post you guys |
4388s | are wanting cross progression and we're |
4390s | giving it to you later this summer uh |

4394s | on any platform that they're playing on |
4397s | and have a behavior account I'm sure you |
4399s | heard me talking about cross progression |
4400s | with an account you're like what is she |
4402s | talking about um but uh yeah so make |
4404s | sure you have that and uh you'll be able |

4548s | daylight uh today I'll be talking about |
4551s | all the intricacy of the game playay on |
4553s | this chapter but first it will mention |
4555s | uh dead by daylight eight years uh |
4557s | introducing dungeon and dragon it's a |
4559s | big milestone for us but we're not the |
4561s | only one hitting a special Milestone |
4564s | yeah it's it's crazy to think that |
4565s | dungeon and dragon turns 50 this year uh |
4568s | and we are super proud and happy to be |
4570s | part of the celebration um and um um we |
4574s | just want to say that maybe when we turn |
4577s | 50 we do something else with you wizard |
4579s | of the ghast or maybe sooner yeah we'll |
4582s | probably be in retired home but we'll be |
4584s | glad to join the party uh so first uh |
4587s | Dagon in dead by daylight I have to be |
4590s | honest here uh the first time you told |
4592s | me about uh what's going to be uh coming |
4594s | next I was surprised because I'm a big |
4596s | horror fan but when you think about |
4598s | horor dungeon and dragon is not the |
4600s | first thing that comes to mine but |
4602s | thinking about it more I realized no way |
4604s | there's a lot of horor in Dungeon and |
4606s | dragon and RAV enough being my favorite |
4608s | module uh so uh like you really |
4612s | specifically focus on certain element of |
4614s | the brand so please tell us about those |
4616s | pillars yeah so when we start a chapter |
4618s | we always uh have a Sandbox created so |
4621s | that we stay um you know around some |
4624s | specific pillars like you said um and of |
4627s | course when we think dungeon and Dragons |
4629s | the first thing that come to mind is a |
4631s | magical world a high fantasy magical |
4634s | creatures wizards magic um all sort of |
4637s | things that don't necessarily fit |
4639s | exactly well into a horror setting but |
4641s | because dndd is a world of imagination |
4644s | where we can create what ever we want |
4646s | there's also a way to make it happen so |
4648s | for us the first pillar was to make sure |
4649s | that we had a good J to position with |
4651s | fantasy so fully embracing that type of |
4654s | content but make it horrific as well and |
4656s | like you've seen in the trailer having a |
4658s | character like vcna made perfectly sense |
4661s | for that horror setting the second |
4663s | pillar is creative role playing so in |
4665s | the image of dungeon and dragon we |
4667s | wanted to make sure that players add a |
4668s | lot of agency a lot of choices um so |
4671s | that goes from uh an an amount of spells |
4674s | you can Cho choose from in the power |
4676s | which we'll talk about later uh or even |
4678s | customization so a way you can you know |
4681s | kind of create your own character in |
4682s | some way uh we just wanted to make sure |
4685s | that we had a lot of gameplay choices uh |
4687s | in the dbd trials and the last pillar we |
4690s | worked with is chaos so that's actually |
4692s | one of our main pillar in dead by |
4694s | daylight um but you know a lot of what |
4696s | happens in Dungeon and dragon is based |
4698s | on Randomness you throw a dice and with |
4701s | you know critical success critical fails |
4703s | and everything in between you see the |
4705s | result and you adapt to it so we wanted |
4707s | to recreate that feeling inside the dead |
4709s | by daylight trials as well yeah dungeon |
4711s | dragon is really about exploring a |
4713s | fantasy world but also be Trill about |
4715s | what's going to be the monster you're |
4717s | going to meet the next time you open a |
4718s | door so let's talk about that killer |
4720s | you'll meet the next time you open the |
4722s | door so of course dungeon and Dragons |
4724s | has a lot of iconic monsters we could |
4726s | have chosen from a lot of iconic |
4728s | villains as well and with our friends at |
4730s | wizard of the coast we've established |
4732s | that our next colar would be VNA VNA is |
4734s | just a Perfect Fit uh for dead by |
4737s | daylight he's a lich so a powerful |
4739s | wizard that um turned himself into |
4742s | Undead to be able to continue his uh |
4744s | villainy is that even a word I'm not |
4747s | sure so uh he wanted to continue to do |
4750s | his horrible stuff uh for as long as he |
4752s | could VNA also has access to every spell |
4757s | in the books uh so that was very |
4759s | interesting for us to create an |
4761s | interesting |
4762s | power of course we also have a surviv in |
4765s | the chapter uh so The Bard um a very |
4770s | interesting class there's many many |
4771s | class that we could have chosen from but |
4774s | The Bard was really the one that fit the |
4776s | most into our or setting you know for |
4779s | example when we think uh about a class |
4780s | like the Paladin um you think of the |
4783s | ability to turn the undead magical sword |
4786s | um big plated armors um and all of this |
4791s | doesn't fit really well into the world |
4792s | of dead by daylight The Bard with |
4795s | abilities like Bic inspiration the |
4796s | ability to sing to play musical |
4798s | instrument to know lore uh and even to |
4800s | insult the villain is just so on brand |
4804s | that it was a perfect fit so that's why |
4805s | we chose The Bard uh as you've seen in |
4808s | the image and the trailer we're doing |
4809s | something uh special with the Survivor |
4812s | um it's akin to what we've done with |
4814s | Legion so through the Cosmetic |
4817s | customization you'll be able to choose |
4819s | between two specific character inside |
4821s | the same Survivor so you'll have the |
4823s | choice between ice tree uh a female elf |
4827s | or barar a human male um yeah it's |
4832s | interesting but uh when I was younger |
4834s | playing uh dungeon dragon like in my |
4836s | friends group uh the B was not really a |
4839s | class that people tend to play true uh |
4841s | compared especially to other class that |
4843s | you had but through throughout times |
4845s | like there's been many change and |
4847s | iteration on the class and has now |
4848s | become like such popular class to play |
4851s | uh really really fun now definitely and |
4854s | has become uh kind of a like an emblem |
4856s | to dungeon dragon as much as a red |
4858s | dragon now absolutely every party |
4861s | nowadays has a Bard uh and we've also |
4863s | seen a lot of barred love into other |
4866s | content that dungeon and dragon produce |
4868s | like the movie for example yeah so we |
4870s | have an undead wizard we have a tadu do |
4872s | we have a new map absolutely uh we're |
4875s | super proud to have a full chapter for |
4877s | the anniversary and shocking no one uh |
4881s | the map is a |
4882s | dungeon uh absolutely so in the Borgo |
4886s | realm we have a new map with a new |
4888s | building uh so there is a top part set |
4890s | in The Marvelous new lighting of the |
4892s | Borgo realm um and you can find this uh |
4895s | isolated Tower in the middle you can go |
4897s | inside and go into an extensive dungeon |
4901s | underground uh packed with surprises and |
4903s | Easter egg related to dungeon and |
4905s | Dragons um the goal with this map is |
4908s | that we've imagined that vcna knowing |
4910s | about different Realms and plane uh now |
4913s | trapped into the realm of The Entity |
4915s | would find a place to make his own to |
4917s | make his home his lair um and so that he |
4920s | can study where he is the world The |
4923s | Entity and potentially find a way to |
4924s | escape maybe maybe not um we are also |
4928s | introducing a new gameplay mechanic in |
4930s | this map called passage um so these are |
4934s | basically doors magical doors which you |
4937s | can use to teleport from one area to the |
4939s | map to the next and we think it's going |
4941s | to add a new interesting spice to chases |
4946s | the map the Easter egg uh it's super fun |
4949s | like if you're a fan of dungeon and |
4951s | dragon uh just exploring you're going to |
4952s | be Trill to see all the small and the |
4955s | big one uh on the gameplay side now for |
4958s | VNA so the way we tackle or approach the |
4961s | the the killer this time interestingly |
4963s | he comes from a game so he has a game |
4966s | mechanic that are existent so we look at |
4969s | all like stats block and and try to come |
4971s | up with like the best spell that could |
4973s | be translated into mechanic for for us |
4976s | and also make sure that the these will |
4979s | be like trading and exciting to use but |
4982s | then uh so Defy is a spellcaster a very |
4986s | powerful one so the goal was to make him |
4988s | feel as such uh in our game uh but like |
4992s | I was saying uh Magic it's something |
4994s | that we have never really tackled not |
4997s | not that way before uh something we try |
5000s | to uh stay away from like our powers are |
5003s | really visceral or like grounded as much |
5005s | as possible uh it's something that uh do |
5008s | you want to talk about a bit magic yeah |
5011s | yes please I hope uh some of our team |
5014s | colleagues are laughing right now |
5016s | they're uh I kind of have of a bad rep |
5018s | internally about magic uh it's almost a |
5021s | taboo word that we can't use uh but now |
5024s | making a that a DND chapter for sure we |
5027s | had to embrace magic and of course there |
5030s | is a space for magic in horror games but |
5033s | it has to be a take taken with the right |
5035s | tone so in this case we're talking |
5037s | necromancy blood magic magic of the Dead |
5041s | um and there's a touch of realism uh and |
5043s | visceral that we wanted to add to to |
5046s | Magic uh versus something more flashy |
5049s | like a magic projectile or a fireball |
5051s | for example there's also something quite |
5053s | interesting out of dungeon and dragons |
5055s | and these are the utility spells um |
5057s | they're spells that are not used to kill |
5060s | or damage but they're used in very |
5061s | creative ways and we wanted to uh |
5064s | highlight that with delich with VNA uh |
5067s | so that was our approach now do you want |
5069s | to talk to us about the spell that we |
5071s | actually chosen sure so you have access |
5073s | to four different type of spell uh |
5075s | pretty much any any time they have their |
5077s | own individual uh cool down uh but so |
5081s | the first one is called fly a very |
5083s | popular uh wellknown dungeon and dragon |
5085s | spell in in in our game it lift up the |
5088s | Killer and uh you're pushed forward um |
5091s | obviously faster so it's really like the |
5094s | traversal aspect effect of the power uh |
5096s | it lasts for a short amount of time and |
5098s | uh it it's going to also end if you |
5100s | Vault uh a pallet or uh volt location |
5104s | and uh this is really useful to uh get |
5107s | uh closer to Survivor right and uh get |
5110s | to the next gem as soon as possible the |
5113s | next one is called Flight of the dam |
5115s | which is it's not really a dungeon |
5117s | dragon spell it's more connected to uh |
5119s | vcna it's an actually an ability that he |
5122s | has uh what it does is that it casts |
5124s | four five sorry different uh individual |
5127s | uh projectile and then it shoots them in |
5130s | a cone radius effect in front of him uh |
5133s | these projectile pass through obstacles |
5135s | they don't go very far but if they hit a |
5137s | Survivor they get damag instantly um it |
5140s | might sound very powerful and easy to |
5143s | use but it's not the case uh Survivor |
5146s | have a lot of Contour but the spell can |
5148s | also be used to Zone uh in in in this |
5152s | aspect so you can also go for the the B |
5154s | M1 attack during that time uh the third |
5158s | spell is called um dispelling sphere |
5161s | which is actually it's a combination of |
5162s | different uh existing dung Dragon spell |
5165s | we just felt it was more compelling to |
5168s | combine them into one spell uh so what |
5171s | it does you cast a large sphere in front |
5173s | of you and that sphere moves slowly |
5175s | throughout the level Survivor do not see |
5177s | that sphere and uh if they get uh in |
5180s | contact with that sphere they get |
5181s | revealed for a few second by Killer |
5183s | Instinct and also have their magic items |
5186s | disable for a minute uh and the last but |
5190s | not least spell is Mage hand uh very |
5193s | well known uh dungeon and dragon spell |
5196s | what it does in dead by daylight you as |
5198s | the killer you can tag up a nearby |
5201s | pallet uh and if the pallet is upward it |
5203s | blocks the pallet for a few second uh |
5206s | cannot be interacted by Survivor and if |
5208s | it's downward it's lifted up for you so |
5210s | you can fully pass without any uh |
5213s | obstacles uh so the idea with the scalar |
5217s | he has a lot of tools and tricks uh in |
5219s | his bag and it's really about managing |
5221s | all the force spells the cool down and |
5224s | try to uh activate them at the right |
5227s | moment uh so that's really how you're |
5229s | going to improve uh as a killer is |
5231s | learning how to use them at the right |
5233s | time and be efficient with them so lots |
5236s | of strategic and tactical um uh choices |
5239s | here correct so you've mentioned very |
5241s | quickly uh during um the dispel sphere |
5244s | the magical item did I yeah what's |
5247s | what's that okay uh so this is the new |
5249s | toy for Survivor uh it's it's called |
5252s | magic items but keep in mind it's not an |
5255s | actual items uh that they use so this |
5257s | time if you face VNA uh you're going to |
5260s | have a Survivor going to have seven |
5262s | different chests that's going to spawn |
5264s | throughout the level uh Survivor go |
5266s | interact with those chests and while |
5268s | during the opening of the chest there's |
5269s | going to be a D20 dice roll yes it's Zen |
5272s | and dragon we couldn't do without the |
5274s | dice roll so this dice roll will |
5277s | determine the content of the chest so if |
5279s | Survivor roll from uh from two to four |
5283s | they get a basic um uh dead by daylight |
5287s | Brown item sry better than nothing yeah |
5289s | well maybe that brown mkit might save |
5291s | your life I don't know uh but the fun |
5294s | part is when you roll from 5 to 19 |
5297s | that's when you get the magic items and |
5299s | the way it works is that each Survivor |
5301s | has an equipment slot a two equipment |
5303s | slot they have the bracers and the boots |
5306s | uh so there's two type of magic items |
5308s | and each magic item is going to be |
5310s | randomly link uh the first time you open |
5312s | the chest to ve one of the four VNA |
5316s | spells and uh once they are equipped uh |
5319s | each time the killer will cast the spell |
5321s | that is linked to one of your magic item |
5324s | you're going to gain a passive bonus uh |
5326s | to help out uh uh kind of uh avoid the |
5330s | spell or help you out against VNA in |
5332s | general so uh for to be more precise so |
5336s | if you have bracers against the fly |
5339s | spell you're going to see vnas Ora |
5341s | during the traveling that while use the |
5343s | the the spell if you have a boots for |
5347s | example against the Flight of the dam |
5349s | you see the aura of the projectile very |
5351s | useful because the projectile goes |
5352s | through collision and the best way to |
5354s | use that spell is through walls uh if |
5356s | you have magic items against the |
5358s | displaying sphere survivors see the |
5360s | sphere so they can Juke and around go |
5362s | around the the sphere as much as and can |
5365s | and if you have a counter against the |
5367s | Mage hand you see the aura of the hand |
5370s | on the pallet and also gain a little um |
5374s | a effect so that help you out around the |
5377s | the loop okay yeah so it's really |
5380s | important to uh search those chests yeah |
5383s | correct Cu uh the way that we we tackle |
5386s | this like the the balance in this case |
5388s | is that we made sure that the the magic |
5391s | items do not trunker the Killer's power |
5394s | it it's made or balance uh to face |
5397s | Survivor who have them equipped so if |
5399s | you don't get those uh defitely the |
5401s | killer might feel a bit oppressive so |
5403s | it's really help to Survivor to get to |
5405s | those chests and uh equip them as soon |
5408s | as possible great and just to be clear |
5409s | you can also equip a normal item with |
5412s | that so you can have your flashlight |
5413s | bracer and Boots correct it's a very |
5415s | different uh slot so everybody are you |
5418s | talk about a lot of numbers here on the |
5420s | dice but you've not mentioned the |
5422s | critical fail one and critical success |
5424s | on 20 for people that uh don't play DND |
5427s | these are like events the best event |
5430s | that can happen in Dungeon and Dragons |
5431s | when you get that critical fail or that |
5433s | critical success so what happens in that |
5436s | by daylight when that happens yes so we |
5437s | have critical role in the game if you |
5440s | roll a one uh you get sorry a big |
5442s | nothing although I've heard sometimes |
5444s | people get a Green Key guess Lu better |
5448s | uh but I know what you get if you roll a |
5451s | 20 so anyone who's familiar with VNA in |
5454s | the lore of dungon and dragon there are |
5456s | two very specific artifact that exist |
5459s | that is called the I Ofna and the an |
5462s | Ofna and we introduce them in our game |
5464s | so you roll a 20 you get one of the two |
5467s | you never know uh but uh these Works |
5470s | more like a normal item so you have to |
5472s | pick them up and use them once it's |
5475s | called a tune so you merge with the |
5477s | items uh and then you unlock a very |
5481s | powerful ability up to like perk level |
5484s | uh |
5485s | yes it's very strong uh I guess you want |
5487s | to know say okay sure so if you attune |
5490s | with the eye of VNA uh they use with |
5493s | lockers so if you fast exit a locker |
5495s | you're going to be unseen unheard by the |
5498s | killer uh for 15 seconds and on top of |
5501s | that you gain a haste boost effect and |
5504s | if you attune with the end of VNA you |
5507s | fast enter a locker and you're going to |
5509s | be uh teleported further down uh F the |
5512s | locker wow so uh very powerful uh I |
5516s | forgot a little details because they |
5518s | might sound super strong uh said like |
5521s | that but they come with a cost so to use |
5524s | them you have to be full health and once |
5526s | you use them you instantly lose a health |
5529s | State uh and also at the end of the |
5531s | effect you get revealed by ker Instinct |
5533s | so be very mindful the way you use them |
5536s | because we've seen very a lot of |
5538s | situation where it backfire at the the |
5540s | Survivor and the the killer has uh |
5544s | definity is spell to help him out get |
5546s | back at the at the Survivor and get the |
5548s | down it's very on brand with what a |
5550s | curse item should be indeed thank you so |
5552s | much Jenik um as you can see there's a |
5555s | lot of stuff uh coming with VNA um and |
5559s | we had no time today to talk about |
5562s | anything more about the the killer perks |
5564s | or the Survivor but I have to say very |
5566s | quickly uh that uh the Survivor perk |
5569s | will allow you to create Illusions uh to |
5571s | perform on the loot you can even perform |
5574s | with uh other survivors to do the full |
5576s | Melody there's also a dice roll mechanic |
5578s | uh for one of the the perk uh so if you |

5774s | absolutely uh there's uh there's a lot |
5776s | of stuff um going into that choice for |
5778s | sure uh so first of all we are super um |
5782s | happy to and grateful to have a |
5783s | community already there playing dead by |
5785s | daylight so of course we listen to what |
5788s | they want to see what they want to play |
5791s | um so that comes into the recipe of the |
5793s | choice we're going to make um we also |
5795s | want to make sure that we will create |
5797s | something new to experience something |
5799s | that's completely out of what we are |
5801s | used to in dead by daylight so that |
5803s | comes into the genre we want to create |
5805s | um also we want to interest new players |
5808s | into the world of dead by daylight um |
5810s | some people that never heard of dead by |
5812s | daylight but also some uh viewers that |
5815s | are interested about the world of DVD |
5817s | but that don't play DVD because maybe |
5821s | it's not their style of game so we want |
5823s | also these player to be with us and |
5825s | experience the world of dead by daylight |
5827s | and just like you were saying with |
5829s | people being interested in the world of |
5830s | dead by daylight as the creative |
5832s | director why do you think there's so |
5833s | much interest in this in the lore of a |
5835s | multiplayer game that's based in action |
5838s | well it it's been very important uh for |
5840s | us since day one when we started working |
5842s | on this project um |
5844s | the the story and the narrative around |
5846s | everything we create we want to make |
5848s | sure that every little component in dbd |
5851s | as as a story and a reason to live in |
5853s | the universe we take great care into |
5856s | making that happen so um you know |
5859s | there's a lot of mysteries within |
5860s | Mysteries a lot of layers to our |
5862s | narrative uh which I think are super |
5866s | interesting and players want to know |
5868s | more um so these games will allow us to |
5871s | discover these these elements that we've |
5872s | seated in the past mhm you know like |
5875s | every killer and every Survivor in dead |
5877s | by daylight could have their own movie |
5878s | or their own game really yeah they've |
5880s | got so much lore it's really amazing to |
5883s | just dive into and speaking of lore I |
5886s | mean this is something we want to expand |
5888s | on with the world of dead by daylight so |
5890s | we're doing that in one of our upcoming |
5892s | games the casting of Frank Stone so can |
5893s | you tell us a bit more about that uh |
5895s | right I I can tell you a little bit um |
5898s | um yes so of course there's uh different |
5901s | type of to stories in games right |
5903s | there's uh there's games that have a |
5905s | static narrative that you experience |
5907s | that's great uh there's also games that |
5909s | the narrative is is made very |
5911s | organically by the players like dbd is a |
5914s | good example of that um the casting of |
5917s | frankstone |
5918s | is somewhere in between right it's a |
5921s | it's a game where there is uh multiple |
5923s | narrative and based on the player choice |
5927s | uh and you know different things will |
5929s | happen and and um based on their choice |
5932s | different endings and different |
5933s | branching in the story will happen um so |
5936s | the casting of Frank stone is very |
5938s | interesting for us because it brings the |
5941s | origin uh of a killer and potentially |
5944s | survivors um and the players are able to |
5947s | play that um for the first time you know |
5950s | some things that we are used to see as a |
5952s | lore or a bio or a to entry in dbd now |
5955s | will be playable it's still in the |
5958s | entities's universe it's still very much |
5960s | part of the world of DVD but it's going |
5962s | to be out of the trials so that's going |
5965s | to be an interesting uh take on our |
5967s | universe okay so we know that the |
5970s | casting frankstone is still in that that |
5972s | realm but what about our other project |
5974s | um this unnamed multiplayer PVE game is |
5978s | that also going to be taking place in |
5979s | the entities Rome absolutely so uh it it |
5982s | is in the world of dbd it is in the |
5984s | entity and one one cool thing about the |
5987s | entity is that uh we know very little |
5989s | about exactly what it is but we do know |
5992s | that it's a living universe it is uh it |
5995s | is huge and we can't really comprehend |
5997s | everything that's happening within it so |
5999s | we know that dbd trials are a way for |
6003s | the entity to feed um it's a very kind |
6006s | of organic process um so we can imagine |
6011s | that there are other parts in The Entity |
6012s | that serves other purposes and that's is |
6016s | exactly what we want to explore uh so |
6019s | that allows us to create new narrative |
6021s | new ways to experience a game new Way |
6024s | new you know gameplay opportunity uh new |
6027s | set of rules so these are thing that we |
6030s | talked about in the past um and that we |
6033s | always wanted to uh explore so that's |
6035s | exactly what we want to do with with |
6037s | this uh new Untitled game so in a way |

6042s | like um a a book with infinite Pages we |
6045s | can add new stories to it forever |

6574s | have you cooked up this year so this |
6576s | year we got some amazing stuff honestly |
6578s | I think it's our best anniversary event |
6580s | yet but before we get to it we have what |
6583s | we call before the Masquerade so that is |
6586s | going to be something that actually |
6587s | starts right after this Stream So for |
6588s | everyone who's watching once this is |
6590s | over |

6594s | and we've got lots of really cool stuff |

6674s | rift fragments so if you want to |
6676s | progress towards the rift this is a very |

6686s | really good chance to earn some |
6688s | iridescent shards damn and then after |
6691s | DND releases the last week and a half |

6698s | down yeah yeah so everyone can play the |
6700s | new chapter they can get hyped for the |
6702s | Masquerade they can NAB some of the |
6704s | older anniversary charms as well is that |
6706s | true exactly so we want to give people a |
6708s | chance who haven't earned them during |
6709s | previous years you know to celebrate the |
6712s | buildup to the event Itself by earning |
6714s | you know like some really cool |
6715s | masquerade crows or things like that |

6720s | itself so the event itself now that |
6722s | we've tackled before the Masquerade the |
6725s | big new thing that is coming for this |
6727s | year's Twisted masquerade is the reveal |
6729s | of the host of the Mas grade tricks |
6733s | herself so players might have seen her |
6735s | hinted at during previous anniversary |
6737s | events or during out in outfit |
6739s | descriptions referenced as the Mad |
6741s | designer or zizzle tricks so she's |
6743s | finally making her appearance and |
6746s | throughout all of the event we want to |
6747s | make it very clear like this is her |
6749s | party she's everywhere she's the |
6751s | entity's biggest fan celebrating holding |
6754s | this party in its honor and she's not a |
6757s | playable character so we want to make |
6758s | that very clear she is there pushing |
6761s | everybody to engage and celebrate I love |
6764s | that so does this mean we're going to |
6766s | see a lot more of her in the Twisted |
6768s | masquerade absolutely so we have a lot |
6771s | of the UI that is themed you might have |
6773s | seen some last year so we've done a lot |
6774s | of updating for that we've got father |
6776s | Campbell's Chapel coming back with the |
6778s | whole party taking place inside some |
6781s | updated content in there to show that |
6783s | the party is progressing or dying |
6786s | slightly might find some |
6788s | corpses then addition to all that stuff |
6790s | really permeating the game we've got the |
6792s | lobby the loading screens she's going to |
6794s | appear in Trials you will hear her |
6796s | laughing at you or cheering you on |
6798s | around the exit gates there's really |
6800s | voice lines that's going to appear |
6802s | everywhere really accentuating the |
6804s | gameplay it's going to be amazing like |
6806s | we we loved hearing all of the voice |
6808s | lines that we had recorded for this with |
6811s | all that stuff like we got a lot of |
6813s | really cool gameplay that I'm going to |
6814s | talk about in just a second but one |
6816s | thing I wanted to mention is that all of |
6818s | our event gameplay now is going to take |
6820s | place within a separate event queue so |
6823s | if you want some of the the normal dbd |
6826s | like in the core mode you can have that |
6829s | but if you want the event stuff go over |
6830s | to the really cool event queue and take |
6832s | part of trick F's you know Twisted |
6834s | masquerade and I I have to say as well |
6836s | if you go to the core mode it's still |
6838s | going to have a lot of the decorations |
6839s | so you get the vibe with the core |
6841s | experience and that's a really good |
6844s | quality of life improvement over last |
6845s | year right like giving players that |
6847s | option to choose you if they want to |
6850s | just do classic dead by daylight they |
6852s | can with some extra flare on it or they |
6854s | can choose the uh the event queue that's |
6856s | a nice nice Improvement so uh you |
6859s | mentioned it so what are some of the |
6860s | gameplay changes that are coming with |
6861s | tricks so tricks |
6863s | is bringing what we call her bag of |
6865s | tricks to the party she wants to spice |
6867s | things up she wants everyone to have a |
6868s | lot of fun so what we've got is that as |
6871s | a match progresses one of a series of |
6874s | abilities or sorry a one of a tricks is |
6877s | going to be played on our players and |
6879s | these are going to be things like giving |
6881s | everybody haste giving people |
6882s | undetectable spawning anniversary |
6884s | special chests or totems some really |
6887s | cool stuff that's going to spice it up |
6889s | and this is going to happen um Whenever |
6892s | two points are accumulated during a |
6894s | match so at first I'd say one trick |
6896s | actually takes place at the match start |
6898s | following that whenever two points are |
6900s | accumulated from you know doing a gen |
6902s | first hook things like that each which |
6905s | each gives one point that is then going |
6907s | to trigger another tricks to maximum of |
6909s | five during a match so like we want to |
6911s | really keep things interesting and when |
6913s | a Trix is actually activated you're |
6916s | going to see Trix herself appear |
6918s | alongside or take the spot of one of the |
6920s | dancing marionettes she's going to even |
6923s | deliver a line that hints at what has |
6925s | been played so if you're not paying |
6926s | attention she's G to give you this |
6928s | really cool audio queue that's awesome |
6931s | and so in addition to all of that I |
6933s | think we're also doing some sort of |
6935s | update for the invitation mechanic yeah |
6937s | absolutely so the invitations last year |
6940s | we had players run around gather those |
6942s | and you could either spend it to use an |
6944s | ability while inside a Chase or escape |
6946s | with it to help you earn a mask this |
6948s | year there's no need to escape with it |
6950s | to earn a mask that's a different thing |
6953s | and we've even added outside of Chase |
6955s | abilities to the invitation so if you're |
6957s | someone who doesn't necessarily want to |
6958s | always be chased by a killer or wants to |
6961s | have a more diverse use for it we've |
6962s | added that so survivors can now go into |
6965s | quiet mode so making a lot less noise |
6968s | and can even do things like quickly |
6969s | enter a locker without alerting the |
6971s | killer it it's super useful to get out |
6974s | of that chase right away that's |
6975s | fantastic um or if they're nearby and |
6978s | you don't want to alert them for killers |
6980s | they can now use an invitation to immed |
6983s | send a down Survivor to a nearby hook |
6986s | and as I can say from play tests it's |
6987s | really fun I think the community is |
6989s | going to love that can't wait for them |
6991s | to play but uh also I think there's |
6994s | challenges we've added so you can earn |
6996s | masks right yeah exactly so this year |
7000s | all earning all of the masks is going to |
7001s | be related to engaging with event |
7003s | challenges and earning event currency so |
7005s | all of them are going to be earned like |
7007s | this that's going to be how you earn |
7008s | most of the rewards um and past masks |
7012s | and out outfits that were earnable or in |
7014s | the store last year are also coming back |
7016s | so if someone was not able to get those |
7018s | during previous years those are all now |
7021s | going to be available inside the store |
7022s | for the duration of the event and I have |
7025s | to say that we have also a licensed |
7026s | guest showing a mask this year a Mr |

7105s | the unknown who is maybe trying to blend |

7326s | we've done with the legion so instead of |
7327s | having like the normal Ed torso uh legs |
7331s | parts for The Bard we have Ed and torso |
7334s | in one piece the legs in another piece |
7336s | and the accessories and so changing the |
7339s | Ed torso piece you can modify which |
