I have played DRG on console for a while and am finally getting a PC i can play it on and I here the steam version is more "stable" then the Microsoft store version. Should I buy it again on steam.

That's totally up to you, the devs are some of the best so supporting them by re buying doesn't hurt.

I've also been told you can copy and paste your save file between the Microsoft and steam version to keep your progress, though I haven't done it yet.

I actually don't think you can transfer saves, Im pretty sure the win10 save is not accesable.

Not 100% sure, but please don't buy the Steam version thinking you can transfer your save. I'll need to poke the QA guys for an official confirmation.

So I would say definatelly give it a try on win10 first. You can also find more Xbox/Win10 people to play with on our discord server.

The windows save is just in your AppData folder which is hidden by default but definitely accessible.

I walked a guy through transferring the save both ways (before u31 dropped though) and it worked. Just had to rename the file and change file type as described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/e7hptr/how_to_transfer_your_steam_save_to_windows_10_and/

Seeing as it's so easy, it would be nice to get some official support here. Maybe something like making both files .sav format as less windows-savvy people sometimes have issues with that part (you need to enable a setting to change extensions in explorer).

Cross-play (or cross-ownership at least) would be ideal of course, but this does help smooth things over.

Good to know, thanks!
