Thinking of purchasing the game, however saw some posts dating back a month saying the one X version is broken and crashes on server browser or has bad servers especially when it comes to crossplay, is this still the case ?

External link →There are still some issues, mostly related to the MS store version, and connecting from MS Store version with Xbox games. The xbox version by itself should be good.
We are also working on an overall of the online framework, which should fix a lot of issues, and make us able to fix the texture bug, progress is looking good on that, but since it depends on our testing, we dont know when its ready (could be 2-8 weeks)
