Disclaimer: This strategy is for only the most hardcore and advanced driller mains. If you are nothing but a gold 3 driller don't even think of trying out this advanced meta strategy.

So what is a BERTIE? Simply put it's a bunker inside of another bunker. Of course, I'll need to go heavily in depth to explain this complex meta plan, but don't worry I'll walk you through it step by step, after all I'm a flawless player.

What is a BERTIE good for? We've all had those moments where a bunker fails, from that rogue bulk that ruins your day to just bad luck sometimes you need a backup plan, and that backup plan is another bunker. It's genius.

When do you make a BERTIE? Anytime you want, just make one and sit in it. If your team doesn't want to bunker, don't worry they are completely wrong and should be ignored. Simply sit in the bunker not helping until they realise how wrong they were.

How to make a Bertie (tm)

First of all you'll need a host bunker, after all you can't have a bunker inside of a bunker if you don't have a bunker to begin with. Of course, you'll need to make the original bunker first before you can make the BERTIE.

To make a basic bunker, pull out your trusty drills, make a long tube and carve out a small area to stand in. The tighter the better, as it ensures close companionship and teamwork! it has the added benefit of stopping anybody from being able to runaway or "kiting" as the elitists call it.

How to make a basic bunker

This is where it gets complicated, and if you're not a 300 IQ driller main you'll get lost. From inside the first bunker, you'll want to make a second bunker entrance, I know, I know, you'll need a good few minutes to process this concept. If you get lost simply refer to the image below.

This is where it gets complicated

Now, you're BERTIE isn't complete without a trench. Simply dig a large pit in front of the entrance. This will stop any shellbacks or trawlers from getting into your bunker, thus, saving the entire team. Make sure the trench is deep enough that any bugs or shellbacks can't get out once they've fallen into your devious trap.

But won't a trench inside a bunker being a falling hazard? Good question.

Here's a professional trench dug by an expert

When you've dug your entrance, and your trench of safety, it's time to make the bunker itself. A protip is to use C4 with additional digging space to be able to make a bertie on the fly. Now, one thing to point out is the amount of sloped surfaces, which further prevent those elitist kiting types \spits** from being able to dance around your bunker like a leaf lover! Talk about an efficient design.

Heaven is a place inside a bunker

When it comes to effectively defending your bunker, you'll need to make use of the best grenades in the game, neurotoxin grenades. They completely stop all enemies from being able to enter your bunker, and save massive amounts of ammo. When deploying the gas, make sure it's between you and the enemies for maximum effectiveness. When the bunker get's overwhelmed, you can also chuck a gas down right ontop of your team, trust me, they'll be grateful for it.

Defending a bunker with chemical warfare

Sometimes, even with a BERTIE you lose. Now, you might say it's the design of bunker that caused this, but it isn't. The reason you've lost is because of these goddamn elitist assholes that think they are better than all of us with this "kiting" and "having fun" nonsense. Could you possibly imagine not hiding in a bunker to win the match?

How arrogant of them to try and force their play style onto us, regardless of how we feel!

Death because of an elitist asshole.

Conclusion

Anyway, I hope you've learnt how to make a BERTIE! Jokes aside:

For the sake of clarity 1) Zweiz is a friend, don't worry the screenshots are staged. 2) I don't think bunkers are bad by themselves, but as of late there's a mindset of always bunkering, regardless of teammates or the situation which is what this post poking fun at.
