It's been quite the journey huh? Two whole years in Early Access, a whole lot of growth, and a very dedicated Dev team and player base.

My story starts sometime during Update 13, my friend on Xbox had notified me about DRG as I was bored of pretty much all games at the time, after about a week I finally decided to check it out. Installed the 1h trial and instantly fell in love! The classes, the combat, the biomes, hell, even the voice lines I loved!

The pure indie charm that oozed from every minute was the best gaming experiences I've had, to say that I played excessively would be an understatement. I've made friends, I've had hilarious moments, and I've gotten through some rough times with Deep Rock.

I've watched the game grow so much too, from Update 13 all the way to Update 23, I've been playing consistently, enjoying every last second of it. It really is quite a thing to watch the Space Rig, Weapons, and Hoxxes denizens evolve and take the form of a well polished, launch ready game.

But alas, life can get in the way, during the announcements of Update 24, I had out grown my Xbox, and had gotten a PC for my birthday, leaving DRG behind for awhile...

Quite the time had passed during that interim, but I eventually stumbled across DRG again, I saw on the Steam store that GSG was on Update 29. Suddenly, all the memories of my time on Xbox flooded back, the friends, the laughs, the teamwork... I scrounged up the cash and bought the Supporters edition, And I was on my way back to the Space Rig.

Boarding the Update 29 Space Rig was like the first time I boarded on Xbox. Everything was detailed, there were new terminals, new rooms, everything was changed. I spent more time than I should have exploring every nook and cranny.

The first ten missions were like a trip down memory lane, with new things sprinkled along the way, new enemies, new map generation, YOU CAN PET LOOTBUGS NOW! It was heaven, and it still is. I've been playing every day since I've bought it again. And now The game I've watched grow is about to obtain the title of 1.0 launched game.

Deep Rock Galactic will be launching on May 13th, which coincidentally is my birthday, and I couldn't ask for a better gift. Thank you, Ghost Ship Games, for the amazing journey I've had, that everybody has had.

But this is just the end of the beginning, DRG still has a bright future ahead of it, so does GSG. And I will be there every step of the way, Ghost Ship have proven themselves to be a great development team, and I will continue to Support them. Whether it be DLC or a new game, I'd be glad to see where GSG heads next.

Now, with all that said and done, I've got an Elite Deep Dive to complete. 3rd stage has been busting my beard.
